One day I had to laugh at a mate and shake my head. We were driving in different directions and talking on our hands free phones. I saw up ahead, a b-double indicate so he could use two lanes to go through a small roundabout. Some moron drove along his right side while he was doing this and got forced onto the centre median strip. At the same time, my mate was perfectly describing what was happening (from his perspective)! He was ranting about “this fucking truck driver is trying to force me off the road”! He said. That’s when I told him I was watching it happen, and that he was in the wrong! 🤦♂️
Good to you back, Ken. The 3 months went quick. Like you, I'm in the middle of building a home in the Philippines. Not a easy task whe living in Australia. But will be worth the headache in the long run. Be safe mate.
The amount of people not understanding the rules of a roundabout is astounding. I've been almost collected so many times. One day it will happen I can't be lucky forever. Please it only takes an extra few seconds to make sure it's safe!
The total disregard for public safety is astonishing. Maybe some offences should require watching extreme videos of road accident aftermaths - or doing community service in a morgue. Seriously - some of these drivers are outright dangers to the public. NB: as a young soldier in the late 70s-early 80s every Christmas leave period was preceded by an all ranks compulsory viewing of some short movies. Those movies were extreme showing the aftermath of multiple fatality accidents. This was old school training gore. Some men were throwing up or just had to stare at the floor. Every single man was affected. My driving was always very careful after seeing these films.
Complete with the dashcam driver being a moron and making the move harder by getting in the way. If someone is having trouble doing a 333 point turn, don't try to squeeze past them... You're just going to make it worse for them, and probably make your wait time longer.
6:29 Hey it's the good ol' roundabout near Blaxland Station in the Blue Mountains! This roundabout is weird because the entrance the cammer came out of (and went back into) is tightly parallel to the exit the white SUV used. That roundabout is actually designed so that people can turn left off the bridge by going around it, but many people don't understand that and don't give way as they should. 😢

@@traj7196 Sometimes it's not worth going around a bus if you're going left further up.
That's the point I'm making; the ute driver's poor driving is irrelevant. The DC driver should have anticipated the move to the right lane. Not going to lie here, at 16:00 I don't know if I would have immediately known the truck was turning left either... He's in the far right, "gunna turn right", lane. I think he should anticipate that people won't really know what they're going to do (we're not all truck drivers) and chilled the F out. It's like when you have to go 180 on a roundabout, you slow right down knowing full well the person on the third exit won't immediately know you're going to keep going.
If the rig is that big in tight urban areas it really needs an escourt pilot vehicle but it becomes a case of who is going to pay for it.
I know how frustrating it can be driving at truck. I will never go back to it but its no use getting angry at others no matter how stupid/ignorant they are.
