My exact truck, (except for the colour), including sunroof! Ordered it July 12, 2021, get in in two weeks. Can't wait! Great review, and thank you, Andrea, you're right -- snows on the front eliminate the need for 4x4 for 98% of us (I'm also a Vancouverite), while keeping the drivetrain light, simple and efficient. Not sure about needing a pushbutton 'start', though, since the hybrid engine doesn't start in the traditional sense. But overall, nice job as usual! Watch for me driving by in my cactus grey XLT.
Andrea, let the man have the truck! I live in Commifornia, and I’ve had mine for 4 months now and I’m happy to report that I’m getting 49 to 59 MPG as long as I drive it like a normal human being.
Zack, you've always suggested a good set of snow tires for FWD vehicles... Ford has nailed it with the Maverick powertrains and packaging/design. The proof is in the fact that go to your local Ford dealer and see if you can buy one without a 1yr wait!!
It’s not really the powertrains and design but solely the price. You just can’t design a worse vehicle for the money and have someone buy it, car in itself isn’t anything special, it’s good value because it’s cheap, not because it’s good. It’s just ok.

First time I checked your channel and really enjoyed your review! I am planning on buying a 2024 model of this truck. At 58 years old this will be my last new vehicle purchase.
Before I put a deposit on the Rav 4 Hybrid I thought about the Maverick hybrid. I decided against it for the Rav 4 hybrids better highway economy. The interior is actually a plus for me. Simple, yet a bit flamboyant and those plastics will likely never wear. I hope Toyota comes up with something of this sort in the future. Ford nailed a market. It has price, utility, economy and it looks decent too. Reminds me of the old compact pickups from the 70s(my dad had a 79 Courier as a farm truck, it had it's roles which it did).
Just to advise you, Rav 4 Hybrid 2019+ are having high voltage cable corosion problems. There is a class action lawsuit involved if you live in Canada.
Yes but you won't be able to order from Ford until next fall. In the meantime, I posted some Mav price search videos on my channel of some low mile used at close to msrp. As for the build be sure to get lux and cp360. The added safety features can save you from an accident if you get distracted. Ask any questions Juanjo.
I think the keyless entry and push button has to be an option.. on the highest trim. On the lower trim - I'm just fine with a key. Heck for this price I would go back to crank windows.
Push button start is standard on Lariat in US. If folks really want the Maverick AND push button and do not want the Lariat, you can add a button third party or DIY. I do not think any Maverick has a wireless radio system, which is why it uses a keypad and corded carplay with Lariat instead of keyless entry and wireless carplay. The Santa Cruz does have these, but it also costs thousands more.
Great review! We got an XLT with just the CoPilot360 option added on. The fuel economy and the usability of the package are no doubt the most salient features, but I'd additionally highlight: a) This is an eCVT drivetrain originally licensed from Toyota back in 2008 and used in the Ford Fusion Hybrid, though the electric motor is now an updated version fully developed in-house. Only Toyota and Ford offer proper eCVTs and besides being the most efficient design, I'd also put in doubt the long-term reliability of the other hybrid approaches. b) It's unfortunate that Ford restricts their high-end CoPilot360 features to the Lariat trim, in my opinion safety features should be offered across the board. c) The plastics look and feel okay to the touch for the price point, but they scratch very easily, however I totally understand it had to fit a budget. On the plus side, there are no squeaks after six months of use. Ford has a best seller in its hands.
Great review. As always. So glad that you got around to review one - probably had to wait for one to be available :) This truck has been on my list and I've never owned a truck. But, as weird as this sounds, the fact that it doesn't have keyless entry...made me think twice. I know it's a stupid thing to gripe about...but EVERY other car does...I would feel like I'm buying some basic car from 10 yrs ago. That said...still consider it...if I could actually get one. If you do end up getting one :P hope you don't have to wait too long!
This is a smart/fantastic buy. But, I'd suggest to wait a year, or two before picking one up. Any early manufacturing issues will be dealt with. And more model options will be added. Great Truck!
When I tell you mine just shut down suddenly, and I’m in two different Maverick groups, most likely it’s the wiring harness but Ford is so backed up it’s ridiculous so it could be weeks before I even find out what’s going on! Definitely rethinking my purchase after so many others are having theirs die suddenly too!
I had a 1988 front wheel drive Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. It worked very well on snow and ice covered roads. Yes, I didn’t need to drive it off road or pull a trailer so the less expensive and fuel efficiency of the car worked very well for me. I won’t be doing serious off-roading so for me, I’d like Ford to keep the front wheel drive only option and offer all wheel drive to those that want it.
The problem with push button start is when you switch drivers! I drove to the airport to catch a flight. My wife left with the car. I only noticed that I had the key fob when I went through security. Had to call her and warn her not to turn the car off and get back to the airport straight away so I could give her the key! Almost missed my flight.
I got the Lariat and I love it I traded in my Ford Explorer 2018 XLT Sport Package for the maverick lariat it brought the fun back in driving and I’m getting 34 miles per gallon on the highway driving at 70 miles an hour,

Love your show. I just took delivery of our HYBRID- XLT w/ Convenience package, sunroof and hard bed cover. Wow 5.1 l/100km, easy to drive, everything seams in the right place. Wish it had push button start and AWD. I suspect Ford should sell a ton on these. Looking for snow tires :). Great show, love the CDN content.
Great review and love the Ford Maverick as it is small. My stepson said i should order one and sell our Kia Sorento. Great truck for Andrea and you Zack.
Very nice review! I love your enthusiasm, positivity and perspective on this vehicle…as if the Maverick needs another positive review, lol. Ordered a USA hybrid lariat (in this color) last October and still no scheduled build yet so I don’t see them offering an awd before they can even make enough of these!
If one looks at the cost of the Maverick Hybrid with the luxury package, one may end up better off getting the base Escape Hybrid (which has more standard features) So its a matter if a person needs a box or not. I'm learning towards either the Maverick Hybrid XLT with the luxury package or the base Escape Hybrid as my next vehicle in a couple of years.
I think Zach wants one...maybe two...I kinda like the look...but am just wondering what other marks will come out with something similar..ie Ram and now Volkswagen..that Scout nameplate I can recall from my growing up..interesting..well done and Andrea...have you relented yet??lol..enjoy🙂

I've been wanting a front wheel drive truck for years. I live in Iowa and and have been driving an average of 20K miles per year and have never had an issue in snow with a front wheel drive car. I ordered a 23 Maverick hybrid and hope it gets here by Feb. or March. I have never been a fan of Michelin tires and wish they had better all season tires as an option.
I went fro a 2017 Prius to the base 2023 Xl Maverick Hybrid. I live on the snowcoast and with Blizzaks I got where I needed to in the Prius. I'm not worried about not having AWD. 2024 models released and still no AWD.
I have a 2020 Honda Ridgeline and I absolutely love it! But...I do wish there would have been a hybrid version for it. It's pretty thirsty at times. I'd consider a Maverick but without the in bed trunk my truck I'm not sure if Id go for it. At least not right now.
Glad to see the cheep mini truck class return. Maverick is a new vehicle segment on its own. It a totally different character than the Toyota or Nissan w body on frame and transfer cases. At $5-10000 cheeper than the Santa cruz or Ridgeline, you cant compare them either. And then the fuel economy. Ask yourself is it worth paying $10000 more for a Ridgeline … and then another $1500 more a year in fuel. By the time the warranty is up, the Maverick has saved you $17500!! Dont get me wrong all those other trucks are amazing at what they do but the Mav kills it at cheep, practical transportation. Dont tell my wife but im heading to the dealer tomorrow!
I love this vehicle. I have shown many people and convinced most they need it. Andrea you are the perfect customer for this vehicle because it replaces two vehicles in your driveway. This replaces the already sold Tacoma and can also replace the fuel efficient Civic. It is considerably better on gas then the average of those two vehicles and it eliminates insurance on the second vehicle. If you want to tease Zack, tell him he can get it if he sells the manual Cayenne GTS or two watches of your choice.

Thanks for posting be nice to make video about how you get one been waiting since October
Why do you think the long term reliability is in question? It's not a belt/pulley system, it's a planetary gear set up.
@@Sworksfsr They said "of the other hybrid approaches." Doesn't sound like they're questioning the Maverick's long-term reliability.
@@Juvic0015 Yea misread it the first time through.
My XLT hybrid should be arriving this Sunday!! Ordered it last July.
This vehicle is basically impossible to get in the U.S.
It’s not, pretty underwhelming in person
@@nenamydog1 It is hard to get, it's selling soon as it hits lots
That seems to be the case with all the fuel efficient vehicles!🤬🤯
You guys are quite a couple can’t believe it works but it works
The problem with push button start is when you switch drivers!
I drove to the airport to catch a flight. My wife left with the car. I only noticed that I had the key fob when I went through security. Had to call her and warn her not to turn the car off and get back to the airport straight away so I could give her the key! Almost missed my flight.
Wow, I always wanted a truck, but could never justify the cost. You guys made a good case for the Maverick. I am gonna check with the wife.
I got the Lariat and I love it I traded in my Ford Explorer 2018 XLT Sport Package for the maverick lariat it brought the fun back in driving and I’m getting 34 miles per gallon on the highway driving at 70 miles an hour,
Good review. You convinced me. I am keeping my rarely used old Toyota Tacoma. That way I won't have to take my Tesla to the dump.
Great video!! Love this little truck with great mileage! It's hit $6.50 in parts of my town! The Maverick is an affordable option for many people! You should definitely get one and give us all the one year owner review! LOL!!
Thanks for this review. I have been waiting for your review on this. Love all of your reviews!
Great review and love the Ford Maverick as it is small. My stepson said i should order one and sell our Kia Sorento. Great truck for Andrea and you Zack.
Very unique looking truck utility vehicle Andrea, neat size and styling!
It's a great vehicle, I am really impressed with it.
Where can I get the orange piece in the cubby next to the nav screen? I have no idea what to put in there, but that piece looks a little interesting.
Excellent review 🙌🙌 you guys are awesome 🚘 Excellent fuel ⛽️ economy
Very nice review! I love your enthusiasm, positivity and perspective on this vehicle…as if the Maverick needs another positive review, lol. Ordered a USA hybrid lariat (in this color) last October and still no scheduled build yet so I don’t see them offering an awd before they can even make enough of these!
@:11 this press car has seen some better days! Those scratches!
The color combo of the interior reminds me of my old 2006 Honda Element.
For those who want/need the hybrid and AWD, there have already been suspected prototypes seen in testing recently on US roads.
Lets go Ford! Lets do it before the competition does!
I'd like a hybrid, but I also want AWD, so hopefully Ford will get their head out of their ass, soon.
You two are awesome! Pull the switch and buy one!
Glad to see Small Trucks coming back.
But how about Mini car/truck of yester years.
Remember the VW car/truck based on the golf and the Ram Rampage I think it was called. That's all l need, 2 seats and a bit of a box a small 4cyl and a manual.
And can the T-roof make a come back.
Hello fronm Vancouver Island
That's my thoughts about this too. Convert to a 2 door, 2 seat version and add the extra length to the box.
I fallen and I can't get up. BRING BEER
Buy it Andrea if you can find one. 😄 I ordered mine last August and still waiting for it.
Ordered an xlt 2.0 awd with 4k tow in hot pepper red! :) Don't care about push button start, but would have liked to have xm radio and heated seats (didn't get the luxury pack).
Awesome video. Looking forward to getting mine. Only been waiting 9 months for a build date. The 2023 models are said to be coming out by Oct, but I'm.still waiting on my order. And yes, I also traded in my Tacoma and have no truck now. Dealer said 4 to 5 months. They should write Sci Fi. Nice vid though. I keep hoping for my Golden Ticket...
Congrats on getting your order in on time! My channel has Mav videos that can help you get through your wait. Ask any questions Steve.
@Andrea - let Zack get this one. He (You too) deserves one, you guys help a lot of folks around with your detailed and yet concise reviews. :)
I agree that the hybrid model should have the awd option especially for snowy weather here in Québec
It seems like an awesome little truck here Good review too. And..... are ya gonna get one? I would.
The orange insert looks to be 3d printed as you can see the layer lines. This can be totally customized by those who are into 3d printing
Throw a tonneau cover on it and it's the most practical small vehicle there is.
Thanks for another enjoyable review.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!
A compelling & practical small pickup truck Good review
I love this vehicle. I have shown many people and convinced most they need it.
Andrea you are the perfect customer for this vehicle because it replaces two vehicles in your driveway. This replaces the already sold Tacoma and can also replace the fuel efficient Civic. It is considerably better on gas then the average of those two vehicles and it eliminates insurance on the second vehicle.
If you want to tease Zack, tell him he can get it if he sells the manual Cayenne GTS or two watches of your choice.
Noooooo
I love my XL Ford Maverick!!
True review 👍
Great fuel economy yes .. there is a way to improve it as well. Turn off you hill decent control to get even better fuel economy in your Ford . Given hybrid system working wile costing slowing you down nicely .. this car does not need hill decent mode .. let it go is what I say .. nice cars from ford Escape or Maverick … its win win anyway you want it
Andrea please give in and order one. If we did not have a 2021 RAV4 hybrid limited I would order it.
Yes!!! Go for it!! Greetings from Ecuador!
Great video you mentioned things may fall, please specify what you meant? thanks
Hi Motormouth How Are You But Ford Is Make Some Good Truck
Where is the link that was discussed at the end of this video?
Glad to see AWD come to the hybrid for 2024.
I saw videos by Ford Maverick Maniac that show the ecoboost and the hybrid side by side.
In the US the top trim package does have push-button start. At least my Lariat does.
