"One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer" was written by Rudy Toombs and recorded by Amos Milburn in 1953, John Lee Hooker in 1966, and George Thorogood in 1977. Amos Milburn's version strolls around a piano. John Lee Hooker's version rocks a full combo behind his real folk blues. George Thorogood's version growls all the way through to the end like a triple shot of that stuff!
Elvin Bishop is a very underrated guitar player. Love him. Saw George with Tom Petty at the State Fair in Salem Oregon so long ago I don’t remember the year but it was one of the best shows I have ever seen in my life.
Had the pleasure of catching him in concert. Best concert ever and after the show he told the audience what bar he was going to hang out at. This was in college so every college kid with fake id was at the bar.
YESS! My dad always sang George Thorogood to me as a kid, it was literally the same as a nursery rhyme for me. The song he usually sang was "Bad to the Bone". Im new here but if you haven't heard that one I recommend it!! Specifically the album version, not live
I remember them from the Anvil Inn in Kennet Square, PA, a long time ago-back in the 1970s. They were the Delaware Destroyers. Pro football HOF member Joe Klecko used to work the door. Every time the Destroyers were at the Inn, I would try to get there. Memories!!!
George is great, but I always love this video to get a chance to see Elvin Bishop again. -- As Charlie Daniels sang in "The South's Gonna Do It Again" "Elvin Bishop sittin' on a bale of hay He ain't good lookin', but he sure can play"
I was lucky enough to see him in his first major exposure to a main-stream audience when he opened for The Stones in KC in 81'. Man I can't think of a better opening act for The Stones. George kept the crowd on their feet for his entire set, with every song just flat out cookin' grooves! By the time The Stones came on the crowd was so full of energy it was almost unbelievable. Killer show by The Stones as well. Thanks for your reaction.
Brings me back. When my classmates were listening to Duran Duran and Boy George, I was the unpopular kid listening to George Thorogood's entire catalog of music. It's good to be right, even at eleven. 😂👌🏼 Cheers from PEI Canada.
LOVE the reaction!!!!!! Sooo much good!!! Maybe check out?? RUSH I learned to play drums from Neil Peart!!! :) ♥ Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Elvin Bishop (aka Pig Boy) is now 82 and still touring with Charlie Musslewhite. They were nominated for a Grammy in 2020.
They're called THE DESTROYERS for a reason!! George rules.

Legends! Two legends boogieing and rocking! Great performance. Great reaction!

This was our local bar band in DC in the '70's. Georgie!
I ❤ Thorogood!! 🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟
I just saw him in Fresno,Ca. in October. He still kills it at 70 plus years old
Yes, when George called out each of those greats one after another, Elvin played licks in each of their styles.

That crowd work. Great stuff.

The Destroyers were such a great party Boogie band. Used to see them quite a bit in the 70 -80s always a great time
Yep, saw them three or four times in the 1980's back in Vancouver, B.C.
The pig on Elvins guitar is Sweetmeat. From KSHE 95 in St. Louis
Always a party with either player...double party with both!
Great reaction!❤
Such a classic song!🎶
One of my all time favorite songs!!!💜💜💜
Keep it up, my friend.
He did a semi-pro hockey arena just like that place in Fairbanks, Alaska!
Elvin lights it up!
Keep on being you
Raunchy music is better than canned music.😊
Another good tune🔥👍👍👍
Gotta love Thorogood!!
Good stuff ❤
You really, really, need to listen to Robin Trower. After Jimi Hendrix passed away, Robin Trower filled the void IMHO.
The master of vibrato, that is until SRV came onto the scene. Seen Robin 6 times, & one was a very magical night for me. So love Robin's music!
Great live act 😁
🔥
They sang I drink alone
You should listen to " when I drink alone " by George therogood
His live versions are always a little different than the studio versions
🔥🤘🤘🤘🤘

Neil Peart personally taught you? How cool!
