    EQC preheats the battery when adding chargestop in MBUX. This is based on my 3 years of experience with this car. Everytime I do so, I can see the consumption increase significantly when approaching the fast charger.

    • @KrisRifa
      @KrisRifa  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No it doesn't, there is no evidence other than anectdotes of people thinking it does. But there are just as many anectdotes that it doesn't. No where in the manual or from any reliable source is the any information that confirms this. In EQE and EQS the car shows a message when the car does preheat, EQC does not everb show a message like that.

      @Kris Rifa did you try to add fast charger in MBUX? If not I strongly recommend to try it next time you have the opportunity. And monitor the consumption. I am very pleased with charging speed on winter on this car, compare to Ipace (my previous car) the manual is probably copy-paste from GLC/hybrid that mercedes could have done a better job with😁👍 what else should 20 kw and more increase in consumption be fore every single time(summer and winter) I approach a charger except a few times I forgot to add charger because I used android auto instead😄 I have seen this to many times, so I just had to reply to you again on this matter🙂

    I really enjoy these tests and seeing how each car stacks up against others. If nothing else, we'll look back at these cars taking 40+ minutes and laugh at how painfully slow it must have been.

      Thanks! In many cases we have already. Two years ago this was an okay time, but today it is sub par 🙈

    Also... Denmark has the highest tower in the entire world... if you know Danish, that is ;-)
    It resides in Haderslev and is the tower at the beer brewing company Fuglsang.
    In Denmark, we also call beer "bajer", which is close to the pronunciation of "Bayern", which, again, is the german pronunciation of a city in the south of Germany... Bavaria !
    So it is said, that from the top of this tower, you can see all the way down to "bajer'n"., which is either all the way down to the beer at ground the level of the tower or all the way down to south Germany ;-)
    In actual fact it is probably about 30-40 meters tall, LOL 🙂

    In Germany EQC 400 is no longer available in the configurator, you can only get some remaining cars on stock.

      I am guessing they are going to announce a massive facelift/update very soon that will make it more in line with the new GLC. But in Norway it is actually still very much on sale.

    Hey Kris, I just saw one of your E-tron 55 videos and was wondering how you would compare that one to the 23 id.4 GTX with complete spec (except the sport package).
    I seem to never get my car into production, and am weighing my alternatives.
    The 2019/2020 pre-owned e-tron seems fairly reasonably priced.

    Denmark.... FLAT?????
    We have Himmelbjerget (Skymountain) which is 147 METERS HIGH !!!! Thats almost 1/64th of Mount Everest !
    Are you kidding me... personally, I need an oxygen mask if I run all the way up to the very peak !
    And because the rest of Denmark IS actually completely flat, from the top, we can see all the way to Germany, which is about 200 km away !! ;-)

    I think it have preeheating, it is difficult to enable it. You have to use the navigation to set the charging on the route. If You want to charge at a special place wher the price is lower You have to set up the minimum charge level at arrival and the level of battery before charging and adjust it to chose place You want.. I have tried this and You will get over 100 kw, else about 70-ish kw at the start. Mercedes should allow the user to set the charging stops.

    • @KrisRifa
      @KrisRifa  ปีที่แล้ว

      I hear what you are saying, but there is unfortunately no evidence to support this. The car does not give you a message like other Mercedes that so pre-heat, not is there anything in the manual or any literature about this online. All we have are anecdotes where people claim the cars pre-heats…. In my experience letting the car choose a charger on a route or just stopping at a random charger at a random point in time yields no difference.

    • @thomassoderqvist4666
      @thomassoderqvist4666 ปีที่แล้ว

      Owning an EQC for 2 years now I agree that it does preheat if the car navigates to the charger. I can not set the preheating myself which I think is bad. I do not believe MB will make the effort to improve the EQC considerably since they are discontinuing the model during this year. Here in Sweden it has not been possible to order one for quite some time now. Still, it is a very nice and comfortable car.

    • @KrisRifa
      @KrisRifa  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@thomassoderqvist4666 there is no information about this anywhere from any reliable source. If this car really preheated Mercedes would of course said it does like with EQE (incl SUV) and EQS (incl SUV). There is no logical reason Mercedes would keep everybody in the dark about this function. With that being said I think it is more likely you are experiencing the battery heating up to a operating temperature while driving - thus the battery becoming warm enough to receive a decent speed.

    • @kitchendog
      @kitchendog ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree with Kris. I have a 2020 EQC with 75 000km and there is nothing to support the claim of preheating. If it preheated you would have a change in consumption, and I have not seen that even when using navigation. For my use I am happy it does not charge faster. I have time for a meal without moving the car from the charger. And it looks like degradation is much lower than for example e-tron 55.

      @thomassoderqvist4666 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@KrisRifa Sorry Kris, but I found it immidiately in the app. Clearly states that the battery will be pre-heated if the car has navigated to a certain station along a route.
