    That cavalry sprue - I used that to make Zulu Wars British Auxiliary cavalry. Used Warlord British Zulu Wars heads.

    That first sprue you showed - Michael and Alan Perry met up with us in Wellington New Zealand and gave me a pre-production run of that sprue. I framed it and it is on my wall - next time they came to New Zealand they autographed it.

    This was/is a great starter set. I got two of them as a base for my two ACW armies.

      I wholeheartedly agree that this should be a "two'fer". More than enough for two armies. Thanks for watching!

    The one barrel with the band in the back (Artillery) is what is known as a Parrot rifled type. It was his way of reinforcing the breech to take the pounding of the explosive charge without it fragging the crew, since it was all wrought iron in construction. The other barrel below that one might be a 3" ordnance rifle. Right across of the Parrot is probably a Napolean 12 pounder where it is a cast bronze barrel and named for the ruler of France Napolean III which backed and had a hand in it's development in France in the mid 1850's. The last one could cover almost anything from a M1841 howitzer to a British Blakely type as nothing other than the muzzel reinforcement bands is jumping out at me and a lot of designed used those.

      I do believe it’s the first true it may be longer but in America they were often longer and I see the longer circle muzzle I think it looks closer to the first one

    If you wanted to also the Zouaves are just copies of the French ones so you could use them rather then paying more for metal ones

    Great video. So many miniatures! Would love to see them built someday.

      Hi, James! Yeah, this was a really good deal. A lot of work, but can't beat the price for 170 figures and some terrain. Thanks for watching!

    Awesome! I have been slowly building and painting them up. I have been taking some of the Confederate minis and painting Union colors, both sides pretty much have similar uniforms. I had a coupe hiccups during the paint challenge. First, work decided to remind me how I'm able to purchase these minis. Ha Ha! Second, Had a stint in the hospital (Blood Pressure went bonkers). I'm back at it now and painting a box of the Continental Army. (It's 4th of July, so why not). Enjoy painting the 170 plus minis! Great video. Take Care! 👍

      Hey, Brian. Yeah, this'll take a lot of work. Sorry to hear you were in the hospital, but happy to know you're feeling better. I've already painted half a regiment of Union Infantry and I have about five Zouaves built up ready to prime. Slow progress....the problem I have is I'm thinking ahead about building out the division and wanting to buy more stuff...However, the wife is catching on. Thanks for watching!

      @@WarGamingNewbHistorical Oh O! Well, check discord. I left a link of a hobby shop that has some really good prices on Perry minis, Victrix, etc... This is the place I purchase my Battle in a Box. Take Care and thank you for the shout out!

    All of this can be fielded as the French army from Crimea to end of Mexico union and confederate uniforms were copied from the French I may use it that way I have a but load of Mexican rebels

    2:38 technically speaking you could make confederate zoaves

    seemed like you rushed through this did not pause enough to look at each sprue. what was the hurry?

    • @WarGamingNewbHistorical
      @WarGamingNewbHistorical  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I do my best to stay on the sprues, but I've found that having a clear view of the sprue, then pausing will get a better idea of what's on it then me trying to explain what's on there. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

      @@spartangoonie You can't go wrong with this starter. Definitely a twofer (getting two or more is a good foundation for starting both armies or individually).
