Pixel 5 here, and I love mine. Got it for $499 new without a contract on verizon. Cannot beat that price for these features. I'm a huge fan of stock Android, and getting quick updates. Also the pictures it takes is top notch, and even better than my fantastic pixel 3. The external finger print reader is a HUGE plus as well. Also, I'm getting 10+ hours of screen time on a charge, and 16+ hours use.
I thought that too. Has every google phone nexus 6p to pixel 4xl. Was disappointed with the constant lag with my pixel 4xl so I wasn’t excited to get a p5. Got an iPhone 12 and have never been happier with a phone choice in my life.
Same here I switched from regular 6S to pixel 5 and I didn't even realize how good phones have gotten looking back at what I had lol it's so much better, especially the battery
@Valente Ramirez lol. Did you even watch the video or were just paid to make this comment? Pixel 5, even with mid tier processor, has been neck to neck with i12, and even beats it at many things. I12 with its 60hz display doesn't deserve that price tag and pixel 5 is definitely a better buy. The one and only reason i12 is likely better than p5 is in video capabilities. If one really makes a lot of videos, then sure. But even for regular video capabilities, p5 is better buy all things considered.
I disagree I feel the video quality on the Pixel 5 is amazing, no shuddering, absolute clarity, my friends couldn't believe the quality! Stills are great but videos more breath taking
Good comparison, however, the no notch screen, the 90 hertz refresh rate, greater storage, and the pixel’s superior software features make this a no brainer

Once you experience the Pixel software experience you will wonder why it took you so long to switch to the Pixel. iOS is so boring and the bloatware on the Galaxy is overwhelming. The Pixel software is where it's at. I just can't wait to see what Google can bring us with their next year flagship phone with their Pixel 6 XL
@@tolgatanriverdi4143 You don't need to change anything on android as well, just use it out of the box "as is". But it's always good to have the flexibility to customize to your taste should you wish, so a definite advantage here!
@@tolgatanriverdi4143 I disagree. Both are equally easy for anyone to use. When you speak of "most" then android is the more popular of the two. You just need to click on whatever app you want to use, pretty much the same on both! However it is the software where Google shines (the original pixel software, not the bloated Samsungs) and for an iPhone user switching to android the pixel is the recommended one to try!
Back in the old android days it was a bit more confusing. It was not hard for me as a user to learn android when the original droid came out but some did have a hard time learning it. I'm talking from eclair, froyo, gingerbread, etc. It started to get easier with ice cream sandwich. The pixel lineup was a really good idea because it was a pain for me when they would jump from different companies to make nexus. from Samsung, lg, motorola, honor. Then when they realized that their were people that actually wanted a vanilla android they decided to start with the first pixel. They were able to show later on that you didn't have to have the best camera as long as you had great software. I tried iphone but it's way to boring, and now with gesture control it was a pain in the butt to keep using back arrows. iPhones also don't have peek display like motorola and pixel 4xl. People will always debate which one is better but in the end it's all about the user. People with iPhones love them because it hardly ever changes and " just works " and their eco system with Macs and ipads. Android has come along way and if you want to try android again then go with pixel and Motorola's. I tried the iphone 11 and I was just really not satisfied with it and I always expect new differences when buying a new phone. I do not see the point of putting in a newer and faster chip if theirs nothing to actually put it to the test. Not to mention the notch for the face id. Were in 2020 going to 2021 and still that notch is the biggest turnoff for me. Pixel 4xl face id in my opinion is faster and not as noticeable like on the iphone. I'd rather take a slightly larger bezel on the top then the notch. Which was why I sold the iphone 11. Everybody has their opinion tho and as I said earlier, it's what the user is happy with.
Same I infact have been with the iPhone for the past decade but this has been my first switch I am with the pixel 5 at first I hesitated cause you know being something with for so long and switching to something new can make you feel a bit hesitant but I did it anyways went with the pixel 5 I absolutely regret nothing
@@italomorales199 I have had ios also. I got really bored. Started with the OG droid RZR, to Samsung to Apple and then to Pixel 2XL and now Pixel 5. I don't see ever not having a Pixel.
Don't wanna be _that_ guy but: How would you judge the speaker quality? I've heard so many people say they're horrible that it really hinders my motivation to buy the P5.
I have an iPhone 11 pro and a Pixel 5 and I've been looking at getting the iPhone 12. I will say this, it will obviously depend on which Operating System you prefer and how invested you are in it (android or ios) but I usually carry my Pixel 5 85% of the time and on most days. When you look at both devices I enjoy the software and editing that can be done to the Pixel's photos and videos plus the Pixel 5's front-facing camera has an option to zoom which isn't available on the iPhone 12. I tend to prefer the Pixel for outside photos and the iPhone slightly over the Pixel 5 for inside shots. The details at least in the photos I take are a bit better and in my lighting, the iPhone carries the lighting more naturally to what my surroundings actually look like. Please understand that the Pixel 5 is 699.99 plus tax with 128GB of storage and the iPhone 12 is 849.99 with 128GB of storage and the iPhone 12 doesn't come with a charging adaptor in the box. If you like accessories, the iPhone 12 will have more options. My household loves IOS and the sucky part about is we can interact better when I use my iPhone for things like facetime, sending photos, emojis, utilizing applications together and etc. IOS is a better app-driven experience and Android 11 offers a uniquely diverse customization experience. I prefer my keyboard on my Pixel 5, I like Google Maps, I like the notification system better, the fingerprint sensor is certainly better right now during this pandemic and I just feel more comfortable throwing the phone (Pixel 5) in my pocket without a case and screen protector and leaving the house. I enjoy the 90hz refresh rate on the Pixel as well, it's a small difference you just tend to notice when you spend so much time on your phone. iPhone in this instance has the processor for sure. All this being said, I thoroughly enjoy the apps and application experience on the iPhone better, not sure why really but I tend to run into fewer glitches and the apps are truly catered for the operating system. The Pixel will get your three or four years of updates and Apple promises five. Pixel has a two-year manufacturer's warranty and Apple has a one year? There will always be pros and cons but if you like IOS more then you will most likely enjoy the iPhone 12 and vice versa....now if you're thinking about switching to either side...it's just gonna depend on how you use your device and what's most important to you....good luck......
Everybody and I mean everybody ignores that about the Pixel 5 just as they ignore Iphones having a huge ugly ass notch, it's soo annoying. But let it have been the other way around ppl wouldn't shut up about how beautiful the new iphones are with symmetrical bezels it's hype bs

Even more in Europe. The Pixel 5 (128GB) is 600€ and the iPhone 12 (128GB) 925€! (+ maybe a charging brick for the iPhone because there's none included → 30€!) When the Pixel 5 released here in Europe we got Bose wireless headphones included for free when buying it on the official Google Store. I sold my headphones for ~200€. So actually I spent only 400€ on the Pixel 5 - and nothing can beat it at this price tag! :) So in my case it was 400€ vs 955€.
You're a liar! The Pixel 5 is much more natural than the iPhone, the pictures on the iPhone are not even close to reality, the pictures are always yellow.
I agree the Pixel 5 takes a lot better pictures and videos compared to Apple. Just looking at his front facing camera video almost made me dizzy because of background moving around so fast compared to the Pixel 5’s. I noticed that right off.

Outstanding review. Thanks for covering all the things I would never have known about. Thumbs up and just subscribed. I have been loving my Pixel 2XL for several years now. It’s works as well as it did the day I brought it home. The only thing keeping me from getting another Pixel is the lack of updates after only three years. This was not an inexpensive product when purchased and to stop security updates after three years is a big negative in my humble opinion. And it’s worth virtually nothing in terms of trade in value. Shame on Google.
Today for some reason I needed to compress large pdf documents which are in my laptop and send them to an app, And I really appreciated the flexibility android provided , I have an ipad and I tried to do it and it was a mess. But my android phone was a champ and did most of the compression by an app and transfer of data by using file transfer. Thank you Google for android
Him: "Apple's selfies are more natural, and less artificially enhanced." Also him: *Looks like he has the bright filter on from snapchat* Haha, but in all seriousness tho, the iPhone does look better when taking selfies. I think Apple takes better pictures of faces, while Google takes better pictures of environments.
i would usually go for iPhone 12 but i am slightly pissed about the fact that Pixel 5 packs easily a 4080mah while apple still decides to give their consumers less than before.
Apples OS is a lot more efficient and doesn’t need to have bigger capacity batteries. My 12 Pro gets dang good battery life. It as good as the Pixel 3a XL but iPhones have never had to worry much about mah
I flip flop back and forth between both iOS and Android. Ultimately at the end of the day I prefer Android. Google just keeps innovating. The select on screen feature where I can search images with google lens is invaluable to me With that being said though, Apple creates an incredible product and you can’t go wrong with either one
Dont do it. Free storage for the original quality of photos are not here with pixel 5.. on 3 you would still have this until 2022 maybe. No more on pixel 5 :(
I have been (and still am) an Android guy. I love the OS (clean, no skins, etc). I have gotten every pixel so far but Google'a desicion to go mid tier did not make me happy. And to admit, the iPhone 12 is beautiful. Soooo I got 12 pro. Not the max, too big for me. To answer shortly after a month with the iOS, my say is this. Give me pure Android in iPhone 12 hardware and I will never think again about a phone. Just to give you a simple idea. No way (unless you buy a transparent widget...for couple of bucks) to move all icons you need in the bottom end of the screen and leave the rest of the screen empty....basically you need to fill the screen to push them down. Wtf? I can go on for the rest of the day where Android is miles ahead, but thanks to all Google apps working perfect on iOS, switching back and forth is a breeze.
At 7:30 he says front facing video, colors and dynamic range is better in the iPhone, but shows a video on both, and the sky and buildings in the back are completely blown out on the iPhone and you can see the blue sky and clouds in the Pixel 5. Not to mention his shirt is black on the Pixel, but almost gray in his iPhone.
Great video! 👍 Both phones are great so it's just personal preference that decides. I've got the iPhone 12 pro max which I'm now replacing with the Pixel 5. Not that the iPhone is bad but I prefer android and always liked the Pixel phones. I however have the deepest respect and understanding for others making the choice to go for the iphone.

Strange how when he says dynamic range in iPhones video is better, the building in the background at 7:29 is completely blown out on the iPhone (while on the Pixel it's not) ... 🤔
Exactly this, every comparison I've seen the Pixel looks and sometimes sounds better. With that said, many still photos comparisons I'd like the iphone better but the majority sides with the Pixel. To me, it's just a popularity thing, Pixel will be the photo king while iphone holds the video crown.
Very flawless and precise comparison video between the two phones. By the way, I am seeing this video 4 months after buying an iphone 12 but still found your video very helpful.
I actually downgraded my phone from iPhone 11 Pro Max to IPhone 12. The Max was too big for my hands and I noticed I never really used the Max to it’s full potential. I’m loving the 12. It feels great in my hands and I can finally text with one hand.

BUT if you use to use apple devices you will miss the iPhone but for anyone thinking to switch to android the best experience similar to iPhone is the pixel . For me iOS is one step forward yet
That is the case for every smartphone company. Also, iPhones have better longevity anyways with constant software updates and optimizations. Androids usually slow down in 3-4 years whereas iPhones begin to slow down in 5-6 years.

They are both excellent. But there are still a few limitations of iOS that I just can't quite overlook. But man they have come a long way too and the iPhone 12 hardwear is quite excellent.
Yeah, I don't get where he says their the same. All I hear are complaints about the iphone battery life. I'm getting 8+ hours SoT with my Pixel 5, and I'm a heavy user. I'm so happy I UPGRADED from my Pixel 4XL.
Have both and in terms of reliability it's always iOS (XR). My pixel is my primary phone and the iphone is for office. I take calls, manage meetings, emails switch between apps and this phone does not shred a sweat. As on the pixel the call screen hangs sometimes when I immediately try to switch between apps. Example: teams, email and phone. I recently used the iPhone and an ipad as a temporary replacement for my crashed windows laptop and after a few hours of adjusting it was office as usual. I cannot imagine that level of multitasking with any Android. But still for some reason, I just can't completely quit Android.
Pixel 5 easily ftw... Main Reasons: Software, Google Assistant Version no one else can get( I think), Full Screen(no notch), Camera, Smoothness, 2 day battery, Call Screening, Call holding, 90hz and more... I'd be bored to death with a iphone, never 👎🏽
Switch from iphone 7+ to Pixel 3 and never looked back. My Pixel 3 was having issues because of its age and bought the Pixel 5 and I love it. Got one for me and the wife with the deals going at the moment traded both Pixel 3's in, walked out with case and screen protector for both phone and only paid $200. When I was buying the phones and setting them up there was 5 people that walked in having issues with the iPhone 12, the wife and I were debating if we should switch to Iphone and with those iphone issues I don't regret it. Plus the repair costs, you will spend this over the life time of a Pixel than and iPhone.
From an Android user, iPhone 12 entry is a no brainer because the Pixel isn't a flagship. But come 2020, I'm still can't believe Apple hasn't sorted out their cluttered notifications. So software experience considered, Pixel's the one for me.
In Germany the Pixel is about 300€ cheaper so i will get the Pixel but the iPhone is super amazing and if it only would have been 100€ like in the US I would have chosen the iPhone
You pick a phone for different occasions? How many active lines do you have? & the video on the pixel was better than the iphone. Iphone had too much glare from the sun
The face id may be much advanced but given the present scenario of wearing mask, it is simply unusable. The fingerprint scanner, on the other hand may be old but comes handy in these situations.
Still rocking my 4xl and think it is still a more complete package than p5, may be I'm wrong, may be one day I will use p5, but I still opt 4xl over ip12 ( *I have both on hand whereas ip12 is my weekend phone)
Here's the deal. I sold my Pixel 4XL for €568 and bought Pixel 5 for €613. I am also getting a Bose QC 35 II headphone free with my Pixel 5. The best deal I ever had. Coming to the phone, my wife has iPhone and it's amazing, but the stock Android experience in Pixel is really awesome. The battery lasts easily 2 days for me. Totally satisfied.
Personally, for looks and prettyness of the OS, I’ll say iOS. iOS is very pleasing to the eyes with graphics and animations. But Google takes the cake for functionality and features which I like better. This is why many, including myself, say iOS is just boring. And although imessage is great, I love, love, love Android’s notification in general. But I’m so tired of the same damn notch, and if Apple has it this year, even if smaller, I’m out until they get rid of it.
Pixel 5 could have been so much better if Google had decided to compete in the premium category. As it is, it's a nice phone but so many little things made me go back to my N20U: small storage, slow processing (felt when deleting stuff, unpacking archives, etc), Gcam 8 works very well on the Note (main lens only), a big screen is nice sometimes... Yet, the Pixel 5 still has so many interesting points: Google assistant works better, faster updates, the screens looks sharper than on the N20U, the blacks look darker, the battery life is just as good, it's light, fits easy in a pocket... As for the iPhones, like some other I'll never move to iOs or Apple but I'd love to get their video capabilities in an Android phone. I just hope that Google will finally upgrade their camera hardware on the next Pixel - maybe with a custom Soc.
This is my current debate. I'm itching for a new phone and I'm on the fence. I currently have an iPhone se (2020) and a pixel 3a xl. Both have really good cameras. I think the iphone has more "natural" tones and slightly crisper lines but night sight on the pixel is magic. Last I researched I believe the iphone night mode is automatically suggested only when IT seems it appropriate and manual use is not an option. Also the battery in my pixel is a beast and the iphone has to be topped off a couple times to make it to bed time. I would really like to have seen you compare night modes.
Google is using a Bio-resin on top of the aluminum of the Pixel 5's body to achieve wireless charging. Basically, there is a physical cutout in the aluminum where the coil lives, and this plastic bio-resin sits on top.
Thanks for the Video. I was on the fence as to stay with Apple or bounce. I am gone! Pixel 5 it is. Plus the apple ios14 totally messed with my Honda's in car entertainment system. Now It keeps freezing, Waze freezes and the music is distorted.

@@LSFD ... its an apple channel. Of course it isn't balanced.

Not all people love customization. Some people just want IOS cause you don't have to change anything
@@tolgatanriverdi4143 You don't need to change anything on android as well, just use it out of the box "as is". But it's always good to have the flexibility to customize to your taste should you wish, so a definite advantage here!
@@simpleuser01 i know but IOS is more user friendly and easier to us for most of the people.
Pixel 5 is AMAZING. Full disclosure, I'm watching on a Pixel 5🤘🏻

@@Slashycent Totally fine. Compared to my 2XL, same sound but actually much louder.
I can't wait until someone does an in-depth comparison on the software between these two
Get the iPhone 13 pro
So nobody's gonna talk about how pixel 5's bezels are beautifully symmetrical?
The only android phone with symmetrical bezel or proportion on all sides. Nice design. The only android phone i want if i switch to android

I agree the Pixel 5 takes a lot better pictures and videos compared to Apple. Just looking at his front facing camera video almost made me dizzy because of background moving around so fast compared to the Pixel 5’s. I noticed that right off.

@Abhinav Sajid I disagree my phone has better speakers then my cousins new iphone 12, also my pixel takes as good or better photos then her iphone and has been far more reliable. Of course my pixel is also 4 years old already and a fraction if the price. Her previous iphone had been replaced 4 times. I will give you the iphone has a better processor and display then mine, but again mine is a older model, and again much cheaper.
Today for some reason I needed to compress large pdf documents which are in my laptop and send them to an app,
And I really appreciated the flexibility android provided , I have an ipad and I tried to do it and it was a mess. But my android phone was a champ and did most of the compression by an app and transfer of data by using file transfer.

i would usually go for iPhone 12 but i am slightly pissed about the fact that Pixel 5 packs easily a 4080mah while apple still decides to give their consumers less than before.
Apples OS is a lot more efficient and doesn’t need to have bigger capacity batteries. My 12 Pro gets dang good battery life. It as good as the Pixel 3a XL but iPhones have never had to worry much about mah

Great video man!
Love the Seiko SKX007J ;)
