    You may want to check with your FB community - put it out there and see if anyone has a 3D printer that may be willing to print it for you.
    A quick google search and it looks like some Office Depot and UPS Stores will do 3D printing.

    Nice ... like to get into 3D printing. Too many other bills and obligations. Great video!

    We just did this mod as well. We used half inch poly pipe (irrigation hose) fed into Jerry can and then three quarter slid over that to fit around pump. We may just use a hose clamp around the half inch where it connects to pump for less pieces. Of course your 3-d print is way more elegant! Hoses don’t touch the water at all.

      Do you have a video on your version? Or photos? I would like to try the modification you did. Thanks

    Excellent mod, I got the pump and a 3D printed adapter screw on lid fro the scepter jerry can. It's perfect!

      Our son printed it for us with his 3D printer. You may want to ask on FB and see if any of your friends have a 3D printer - they are becoming more common.

    Lone Rock Concepts sells a kit with the pump, hose, and adaptor for the Sceptre, Rotopax, and Reliance containers. More expensive for the convenience, but that’s capitalism. Works well for us.

    You actually don't even need those extra pieces. You can use your little rotary tool and rough up the inside of the Specter spout and rough up the exterior of the small center round piece of the pump and they will just press fit together without any of the 3D printed parts.

    Drill a small hole on the Waterport adaptor

    Is there an old school hardware store approach to this? Soon, very soon ... will find out! Scepter jugs, is there a secure bolt on lockable carrier/holder for the Hiker?

    I just had a local printer print these for me. He said I should coat them in epoxy resin to seal them. Since water is not actually coming in contact with them, is this even necessary?

    • @MWDAdventures
      @MWDAdventures  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We have not sealed ours. We did have an issue with the pump being left out in the rain on a trip this summer. The rain shorted out the pump and we had to replace it. Someone gave us the idea to put a drink koozie over the pump to keep it dry when not in use.

    Have you done any tests spilling tests with the adapters, just to see what would happen if it falls over. (I do a lot of offroading, and hoping to design a air-tight quick water solution). Thanks!

    • @MWDAdventures
      @MWDAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      We have not done any spill tests. My guess is that it would leak if it would end up on its side.

    Any chance you know if the ac unit that the prep add on is for is still being made? Debating if it’s worth getting the ac prep if I can’t get the unit.

    • @MWDAdventures
      @MWDAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have not heard that it is available, but haven't been researching it either. We use the AC prep as an extra air vent when it is raining - our son made a 3D cover that we are selling to put on the AC prep to allow fresh air in/rain & bugs out. You can see it in this video: th-cam.com/video/HwnZwbSX8KA/w-d-xo.html

    3/4 in id vinyl tube, 3/4 to 1 in barb to barb plastic adapter, 1 in id vinyl tubing ( i had braided lying around). Wet and fit together. Uglier and not as elegant as 3d printer. Cost about $5.

      We don't sell these as they are not our design. You could check with your community to see if anyone has a 3D printer or you may find your local Office Depot/Max or Print shops may be able to print them for you. The file is in the description.
