    This video really makes me feel better about working on my bike on the kitchen floor, maybe one day I'll have a garage even as 10th as nice as you do now. For now though, it's back to being a floor troll.

    Blimey this was pretty much my first video ever! Filmed on a really cheap action cam designed for mountain biking before the GoPro was even invented LOL! and yeah, I guess 3yrs practice adds up...
    Once the Bandit is back on the road shortly I'll be back into some Harley mods on Penny's Sportster, not to mention a little makeover for it over the winter months...! Cheers Del

    Thank you also from Brooklyn, NY...very funny remark about the volume lost in petrol vs. the size of the assembly...it is huge! Cheers mate!

      I really don't know why they changed to all this modern guff, I am starting to think I f**ked up buying an injected 883. Oh well we live & learn.

    Hi mate.. YES, there is an Orange rubber "O" ring gasket, they are usualy reusable if you are careful taking the pump out of the old tank.. if not, and you need a new one, then im sure they are not pricey... but make sure you fit it ,as its a pressure seal (remember the tank gets pressurised in hot weather and it WILL leak fuel if its not 100% perfect.talk to Harley and price one up mate.you'll see its easy to fit and slots into a groove on the pump base plate..just grease it when you fit it Del

    Hi mate, no just change the filter, the rest is fine... I would definitely take the tank off and flip it over... you can get the pump assembly clear while its mounted on the bike, and even a cup of fuel will pour everywhere...take your tome and you'll see its really easy.. good luck, Del.

    Del, I'm changing my 48's tank to a 3.3 gallon tank from an 883. When im fitting the fuel pump to the new tank is there a gasket on the pump to stop leaks? Concerned might leak when fitted to the bike and be a fire hazard lol! Any advice or guidance would be appreciated. Loving all the recent vids mate.
    Cheers.

    Del I am about to change the tank on my 2011 sportster due to a small dent in the old one and in your video you mention that the bolts are glued in with a fuel sealant, do I need to re glue them into the new tank ? If so what type of "fuel sealant? You also say that we should grease the orange rubber o ring on the bottom, What type of grease should we use? I love your videos by the way.

      Ok buddy, regular ordinary LM grease will be fine for lubing the seal, and you can Loctite the bolts with blue Loctite as the factory stuff is quite hard to get... makes sure you use the correct size torx bit for the bolts as they are easy to chew out and damage... good luck with it buddy, hope it goes well for you, Del

    just changed mine out on a sportster xl custom 2013 .and now it won't turn on...any suggestions

    • @Moonfleet41
      @Moonfleet41  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lyle Winney What do you mean by 'turn on' Lyle???? You mean you have no ignition, or you have ignition and it's not turning over... little more info. might help... if you don't plug everything in correctly, then it kills the ignition!

    The song! Just about the most boring song ever put out. Its interesting to see the fuel pump though. I had to turn the volume down to 0. Thumbs up!
