Nice! Most of the F-Zero soundtrack is pretty awesome. I still haven't found out how to decompile SNES sound files yet, but when I do, it's gonna get bananas!
@@thesosomusician Indeed i did, but i feel like the drums and guitar shouldve interchanged intensity. My transcription is in my channel btw, i need critiscism because by teacher put 65/100 on my auditive training and i m still mad
I'm lucky I mixed something that sounded halfway decent back then! That recording was before I'd acquired overhead mics for the kit and one of the first several tracks I mixed. I did a cover of Mute City last year that's a bit more balanced, although I think my mixes have gotten a bit better since then even. I checked out your transcription, seems an incredibly harsh grading if that was only a 65. I found your transcription pretty accurate. There's parts in the middle of the song where there's some borrowed out of key notes such that I'm not sure what's 100% accurate myself, but I probably wouldn't dock a transcription 35 points for a note a half step out here and there, if it even is out! I thought it was quite good, I'm not sure why yours was deducted so much. I did a transcription of this song here, but it was based on a midi of the track, so I don't vouch for its accuracy! tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/tab/misc-computer-games/f-zero-sand-ocean-power-1693533
Yup, that's amongst several songs I'm planning to work on! The tempo on that one makes it a bit tricky though, so I've got a few steps I gotta take to prep for that one.
That's kind of what happens when one of the instruments you play well is guitar and you arrange for what you can play. The channel here is a bit broader than metal but arrangements skew on the heavy side as I play what I know.
@@thesosomusician Yeah, I was trying to imagine what instrument would actually represent these sounds. As you probably know, the later "F-ZERO" games went all in on metal, though it's debatable if that's what they were trying to do on the SNES. Obviously Death Wind was a metal track, but these others not necessarily. So do a Death Wind cover, you have the skills ;)
I always thought Sand Ocean was kind of a prog rock tune, it used to always remind me of The Fish by Yes. It's a combination of the driving bass and all the keyboard lines. Some of the busier NES & SNES arrangements usually sound more metal to me then some of the tunes where the intentionally went for a metal sound. I think the sound limitations on older consoles led to composers getting really busy on the melodies, which overlaps pretty well with metal. The drum part on Sand Ocean, even though it uses sounds that are laid back, is crazy aggressive! Death Wind is a cool tune, but it doesn't melodically go on a journey, I'd have to think about the arrangement to do that one justice.
❤❤❤❤❤
Wow, nice work dude. Like for the arrangement and you face on ship spots! Nice touch 👌
Cheers! Sand Ocean is such a great tune, I just tried to have fun learning it and jamming it!
Awesome!
Cheers! This was one of the 1st few songs I did when I got drum mics, fun tune to play!
@@thesosomusician your channel is fantastic!
Thanks so much, I appreciate it!!!
Yes! One of my favorites!

Mario Kart and F-Zero are the best racers on that platform, classics!
nice!
Cheers!!
I just made a sand ocean transcription and this appeared in my recommended
Hopefully you enjoyed it! I did this one a few years ago so the audio's a little rough, but it was a blast to put together!

Ever thought of doing "Mega Man 3 (NES) - Snake Man Stage"? from NES?
Yup, that's amongst several songs I'm planning to work on! The tempo on that one makes it a bit tricky though, so I've got a few steps I gotta take to prep for that one.
I hate how metally this sounds compared to the original.
