Armagadon643 He should be a special merc camp or something. Like he rushes straight for the core regardless of what is in front of him (including keeps). He could have low health so he gets killed super quickly, but he could do a ton of damage if he actually makes it to the core.
He would also be a hilarious hero but I could almost see blizz putting in a merc like that as fan service, but I wouldn't have much hope for the hero.

Love the design. Content is getting better and better. Can't wait for the next map after the awesomeness that is the Eternity map. Even the creeps on that map are sick!

jacob scharlau That website datamined that information about Leoric and datamines can be very inaccurate. For instance I have seen in one place (on that website) that Leoric will do 25% health damage on the enemy hero, and then on another place on that website it says he does a specific amount (about 450 over 4 seconds at level 20). So I'd wait before we start theory crafting.
But aside from all that, Leoric doesn't appear to have any stuns or roots and that doesn't bode well for tanks in competitive play. But we'll just have to see.
Lizarddickel Dogge What you're seeing there is Drain Hope (His W available while alive), and Drain Essence (His W available while dead). They're different moves in the game's code. Hope deals 25% of the enemy's HP over 4 seconds and heals you for 25% of your HP. Essence only heals and only for a flat amount. This is intentional because Essence is only there to reduce Leoric's respawn timer.
I'd struggle to call Leoric an outright tank. If you've ever played competitive Pokemon, he's more like a Wallbreaker. The high sustain allows him to remain on the front line under heavy fire from the enemy team and the large quantity of damage sources that hit for a % of the enemy's Max HP makes him well suited for hitting bulky targets very hard.
MooMachine90 If he always deals 25% of the enemy's HP, that sounds really powerful. Especially after Blood for Blood was nerfed. I did notice from the video though that his "powerful" Q attack barely scratched Jaina's health bar.
So weird seeing a boss from Act 1 of Diablo 1(Butcher) or Diablo 3(Leoric) on the battlefield. Trying to pretend they are as powerful as Diablo or Azmodan.
Movie Games I do believe Leoric deserves a spot among the champions in HotS, he has contributed a lot to the lore and was actually a really cool boss in D3. The butcher, however...
Soul Hook Yeah, they're cool characters. Just saying you easily stomp them in Act 1 of D1 and D3. In HoTS you can use them to kill Diablo himself. I guess either they have been doing some leveling or Diablo had gotten weaker.
Movie Games well how do you explain that a simple Rifle like Raynors can even tickle a Demon Lord like Diablo? Why is Malfurion even able to use his Power (it comes from the Planet Azeroth and the nexus is a few miles away from it)? :P in the Nexus everyone is on the same powerlevel (wasnt that BLizzards excuse? :D). And the best: How is a BABY MURLOC able to kill anything at all?

Movie Games I would really try not to make sense out of this whole game but if you insist then here's my theory; I believe that all the heroes' 'power levels', if you may, are either reduced or increased significantly so they're all around the same level just to entertain those whoever brought all of these heroes to Nexus in the first place. And to entertain those spectators watching the matches from a safe distance in maps such as Dragon Shrine and Garden of Terror.
It feels like Entomb will be the way to go in higher competitive, but I'll be damned (hehe) if I won't use March of the Black King in everything hehe.

I feel like entombed will be worthless once Heroes start taking Bolt at 20, though...
JesseMcCloud depends on the CD, and whether you can cancel it prematurely. Bolt tends to be a longer cd than most ultimates. If you can make them blow it on every ult you do, then you can use it on them again without their bolt. Not to mention they can no longer jump over walls for cheeky escapes, because they burned it.
But, naturally mobile characters will give Leoric a hard time, no matter his ultimate.

Regarding the whole Reghar damage thing, they have to balance it somehow, so it makes perfect sense to me.

Andreas Fortunis Looking in the game files he does have a talent to collect health globes while dead and fasten his resurrection, but I'd doubt that he could soak exp while he is dead. It simply has no counter play. Also shortening your death timer by disrupting enemies and reviving at the spot is already a huge advantage to have.
Hopefully just a ptr bugg, if he could he'd probably be op
***** You don't need to do damage to soak exp. You just need to be within sight range when minions die, even if they are killed by other minions or structures.
it is not logical to allow that, he already got the vision for the team even being dead, being able to soak xp while being dead is too OP.

Leoric walking animations has so much swag. Entomb is like Butchers lamb ultimate but kinda better, hopefully you can destroy it by attacking though its kinda OP when used on tight spaces and chokes.

This may sound stupid but hear me out. We need Leeroy Jenkins. He could be from either the Warcraft series or even Blizzard Classics. He could have some pretty fun kit with maybe a LEEEEEEROY JENKINS Heroic ability where he negates some damage while dealing increased damage. Being such an iconic World of Warcraft figure it might not be a bad idea.

Sure, he has a slow on one of his main abilities (like many heroes), but he also has a much more interesting passive, multiple forms of cc, and his mobility is tied onto his wraith form, unlike Mundo's ult. Similar? Sure. A copy? nah, not really. But then again, you could say that many heroes in HotS are similar to LoL champs: Gazlowe/Heimer, Sylvanas/Ashe, Johanna/Leona, Butcher/Darius, etc.

Honestly I want more non-Warcraft characters but if we had to I'd take one that's not affiliated with one of the faction races. Like Azshara or Vashj for Naga, Thunder King for Mogu, Cho'gall or Rexxar for (Half-)Ogres and Hogger for Gnolls or even a faction race that haven't been represented yet. Mekkatorque or Manastorm for Gnomes, Zul'jin or Vol'jin for Trolls, Velen, Yrel, Maraad or Nobundo for Draenei and then Crowley, Fangfire or Greymane for Worgens...as you can see a lot of choices to choose from =p

john snow Technically he can provide vision to someone else with real backdoor capabilities. That isn't new, though, and it certainly isn't an optimal tactic.

Looking forward to Leoric. Seems like a hero that finally perfectly fits my playstyle.
if you choose his lvl 16 undying despair talent he becomes very hard to kill because you can use drain hope as soon as it ends if you use it fully. really helpful in 1v1 most important talent
3 basic abilities 1 for damage 1 for utility 1 for escape/chase. pretty standard design although there are some new concept in it. i'd like to see heroes excel at one aspect but also have one major weakness. to me the game would be more fun this way.

I REALLY liked the setup for this video. You talked all about his abilities and strengths, and then you talked about his weaknesses and counters so the noobs wont come crying to the forums after getting rekt

You should really elaborate on the weaknesses and counters with each new hero more, just to help prevent that kind of toxic forum OP post
Loving every ability and really liking his design. If I had to make one complaint it's that he always seems to be laughing. I'm all for characters that're having fun on the battlefields but I think a more paranoid personality would be pretty cool and befitting (just a thought).

He looks like a combination between thrall and his sustain/movement speed and Diablo with his death timer, control, and fire breath ult
You could combo skeletal swing with Azmodan's Globe of Annihilation with the talent causing it to gain power when a minion dies for some huge long-ranged damage.
WinsOfTheEpic You can already do that with tass, sylvanas, gazlowe, valla, and johanna though. Probably better.
