He got away fine. In fact of all the Nerazim, Mal'ganis is still alive. Ok, when I say he got away, yes he did die, but as he is a demon it wasn't permanent.
But there are already a few vision-darkening effects and this has never really been a proper argument toward them. Dehaka's one ult, for instance. Also looking at another person's screen would leave you open and the skill has a window of 6 seconds. You would have to be on some serious next-level clawing to make it all work out.

Why peopel always ban every single new or reworked hero, even when they are really weak? Because most players of hots are 1) casual 2) stupid and really don't like adapt to any changes.
I don't like the look and animations as a whole. They turned him into this big hulking meathead. Dreadlords were the agility hero and were all about guile and manipulation not physical dominance. Even the way the moved in WC3, they were fairly lean/lithe and had a bounce in their step. They didn't lumber forward like a walking tree.
Eh. Preferred the Warcraft 3 looks to the WoW one. Did a great job with Kael'thas, could've given Mal'ganis the same treatment. Still though, dreadlord, yay! :D
I would say this version is neither WoW nor Warcraft 3. Especially considering the original WoW dreadlord model was heavily based on the Warcraft 3 one. For this version, the armor almost looks like Archimonde's with those bulky shoulder pads and all the skull motifs. Because of the size of the shoulders, he looks more top heavy than dreadlords usually do. Also, the face looks different than usual dreadlord models and the lips are no longer sunken in and wrinkled like they are usually portrayed. I can understand wanting to update his look to make him look beefier and more imposing, but I agree that they should've stuck to what they did with Kael'thas and Anub'arak and make him look more like his Warcraft 3 self. Hopefully they'll do what they did with Illidan and give him a skin to make him look like the Warcraft 3 version. At least they didn't give him the giant mutton chops of the second WoW dreadlord model.
after Mephisto.... ehm i dunno... this design changes, i hope they'd just update 'em with available artworks and not just give a new look just bcoz(hots base version)
this is just how hots works, they have a different artwork than the other games, yes most of them look quite identical but they still have their own niche

Yes and no. It's only effective if you use it while on low health, in which case you can get sniped by anyone with decent burst damage. Also the cast seems to be 1 second, so it will be rather easy to counter with a stun. It seems like it will make him really mean in 1v1 lanes, though. He can just use his opponent as a health pack and it will be harder to counter if he initiates with it.
That's not going to happen for quite some time - if ever. Re-doing Arthas' model to look better would also require redoing all of his skins because they would have to completely rework the structure of his 3D model. Doing that would take about the same amount of work as creating two new heroes or making new skins for other heroes.
Draeckon remodeling an already structured skeleton would take the same amount of time as designing two new heroes from the ground up, who have no builds, no talents, no skeleton, no skins, and no animation? Highly doubt that

I would argue otherwise. I remember Mal'ganis way better than I ever have Tichondrius or Varimathras (I don't even remember him at all? I assume he's just in WoW). Then again, I suppose it may be because I never played WoW.
@@Draeckon That is because you don't remember the campaigns well enough... you'll see mal'ganis mostly does stuff with arthas however the other two dreadlords are shown beyond that point every time they're mentioned.
Mal'Ganis plays a massive role in the beginning of Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos, as he is the main antagonist during most of the human campaign, which is usually remembered better, as it is both the first campaign and the one portraying Arthas' corruption. Tichondrius plays a semi-important role in the undead and night elf campaign during Reign of Chaos and has a small cameo in the orc campaign. He is however a lot less active in the open, as he mostly just tells other people what to do and only becomes more active during the night elf campaign, which is the last campaign and thus not as well remembered. Varimathras was never even a character before Frozen Throne, where he mostly played a rather unwilling sidekick to Sylvanas, which he proceded to do until the events of the Wrathgate, where he became somewhat important. After that, he showed no sign of himself until Legion, where he was one of the bosses in the final raid. All in all Mal'Ganis didn't actually do as much as Tichondrius, but what he did was a lot clearer and he is part of a storyline that i far more iconic than anything Tichondrius ever actively took part in, though he did orchestrate that storyline from behind the scenes (in the same way actors often get more credit for movies than instructors among the general audience). Personally i find Mal'Ganis a lot more memorable than Tichondrius, who was mostly just running around being an arrogant asshat, while Mal'Ganis had some enticing flair to him. TL;DR: Mal'Ganis took a more clear part in the best stuff, while Tichondrius and Varimathras didn't
Let's analyze it a little. You must pick a target that has more health than you AND isn't being attacked. The lower your health the higher the risk of a burst against you for the kill before you ult. If the enemy has good burst heal they have 3 seconds to unload on your target after use and you won't get a kill. In most team fights, tanks are last targets, so ideally, Mal'Ganis won't start taking much damage until he is last left alive. If the enemy has three or more left, you probably still die. Looks neat, but risky and situational.
I have a feeling it's going to be a very situational ult, while his first ult will be the main pick - at least once people realize how not-OP Dark Conversion is. There's lots of counters for it, and most of them are basic abilities like BW Polymorph, Ana sleep dart (or her heal-nullifying grenade), any kind of stun like Muradin's hammer or silence like Stukov's, etc. If worst comes to worst, there's a number of ults that can counter it as well. It's best in a 1v1 situation, and even, only against heroes who either don't have any reliable CC or when you can catch them with those abilities on cooldown. EDIT: Also, any hero with any amount of burst can just kill you. In the scenario with Zeratul, he realistically would have just killed Mal'ganis before he could actually heal up (double-cleave with his Nerazim ult) or just VP to stop it and either escape or kill Mal'ganis when it ends.
He can put himself low on towers or bosses, engage, and virtually one-shot anyone by himself. Was watching McIntyre and Co do it the other day. More than the healing, it's a MASSIVE amount of burst on a single target, especially for a tank.
I can see why that ult has insane solo lane potential but honestly by that point you should be rotating and sticking your team for the objectives. In teamfights stuff like uther's entire kit, Varian's shield wall, Alexs lifebinder, Muradin's stoneform into avatar, Genji's deflect are all pretty big counters by themselves.
Yes we love Warcraft Characters! I wish we get some day Archimonde, Mannoroth, Sargeras, Kil'jaeden, Velen, Magtheridon - some1 of these guys. Or more trolls like the Witch Doctor from WC III!
Still waiting for Lady Vashj The Naga Sea Witch was one of my favorite WC3 Heroes and is one of the few missing! Could imagine her as Specialist wich is strong against buildings and wave clear with similar abilities like this: Q: Forked Lightning (Dmg all Enemies in a cone Area) W: Frost Arrows (Dmg boost for next 3 auto attacks + slow/freeze) E: Parasite (DoT + summon murlocs/nagas when target dies) D: Manashield (Absorbs dmg burns Mana instead, activate/deactivate) R: Tornado (Follows a lane, dmg + cc to all Enemies, light dmg vs buildings) R: Summon Naga Royal Guard (Naga Warrior with cleave auto attack, ignores Armor) Oh, i want to play her so bad :D

Ah of course, Neptulon one of the Elemtal Lords! Al Akir is my favorite of them. There are plenty of Heroes in Warcraft alone wich could be added to the game. Im pretty sure Deathwing will get implement too, one day. Its just a matter of time until more Heroes join the Nexus ;D

Yes and no. It's only effective if you use it while on low health, in which case you can get sniped by anyone with decent burst damage. Also the cast seems to be 1 second, so it will be rather easy to counter with a stun.
It seems like it will make him really mean in 1v1 lanes, though. He can just use his opponent as a health pack and it will be harder to counter if he initiates with it.

If you played Dota2 this is similar to Terror Blades “Sunder” ult. Powerful but it’s not impossible to team fight against. Excellent for 1v1

That's not going to happen for quite some time - if ever. Re-doing Arthas' model to look better would also require redoing all of his skins because they would have to completely rework the structure of his 3D model. Doing that would take about the same amount of work as creating two new heroes or making new skins for other heroes.
Draeckon remodeling an already structured skeleton would take the same amount of time as designing two new heroes from the ground up, who have no builds, no talents, no skeleton, no skins, and no animation? Highly doubt that

Varimathras had more impact in wc3.. after Mal'ganis dies it's pretty much him and Tichondrius..
I would argue otherwise. I remember Mal'ganis way better than I ever have Tichondrius or Varimathras (I don't even remember him at all? I assume he's just in WoW). Then again, I suppose it may be because I never played WoW.
@@Draeckon That is because you don't remember the campaigns well enough... you'll see mal'ganis mostly does stuff with arthas however the other two dreadlords are shown beyond that point every time they're mentioned.
Mal'Ganis plays a massive role in the beginning of Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos, as he is the main antagonist during most of the human campaign, which is usually remembered better, as it is both the first campaign and the one portraying Arthas' corruption.
Tichondrius plays a semi-important role in the undead and night elf campaign during Reign of Chaos and has a small cameo in the orc campaign. He is however a lot less active in the open, as he mostly just tells other people what to do and only becomes more active during the night elf campaign, which is the last campaign and thus not as well remembered.
Varimathras was never even a character before Frozen Throne, where he mostly played a rather unwilling sidekick to Sylvanas, which he proceded to do until the events of the Wrathgate, where he became somewhat important. After that, he showed no sign of himself until Legion, where he was one of the bosses in the final raid.
All in all Mal'Ganis didn't actually do as much as Tichondrius, but what he did was a lot clearer and he is part of a storyline that i far more iconic than anything Tichondrius ever actively took part in, though he did orchestrate that storyline from behind the scenes (in the same way actors often get more credit for movies than instructors among the general audience). Personally i find Mal'Ganis a lot more memorable than Tichondrius, who was mostly just running around being an arrogant asshat, while Mal'Ganis had some enticing flair to him.
TL;DR: Mal'Ganis took a more clear part in the best stuff, while Tichondrius and Varimathras didn't

Dark conversion looks like it’ll be strong but something tells me it’s going to disappoint
Let's analyze it a little.
You must pick a target that has more health than you AND isn't being attacked.
The lower your health the higher the risk of a burst against you for the kill before you ult.
If the enemy has good burst heal they have 3 seconds to unload on your target after use and you won't get a kill.
In most team fights, tanks are last targets, so ideally, Mal'Ganis won't start taking much damage until he is last left alive. If the enemy has three or more left, you probably still die. Looks neat, but risky and situational.
I have a feeling it's going to be a very situational ult, while his first ult will be the main pick - at least once people realize how not-OP Dark Conversion is. There's lots of counters for it, and most of them are basic abilities like BW Polymorph, Ana sleep dart (or her heal-nullifying grenade), any kind of stun like Muradin's hammer or silence like Stukov's, etc. If worst comes to worst, there's a number of ults that can counter it as well.
It's best in a 1v1 situation, and even, only against heroes who either don't have any reliable CC or when you can catch them with those abilities on cooldown.
EDIT: Also, any hero with any amount of burst can just kill you. In the scenario with Zeratul, he realistically would have just killed Mal'ganis before he could actually heal up (double-cleave with his Nerazim ult) or just VP to stop it and either escape or kill Mal'ganis when it ends.
Genji can probably deflect Dark Conversion too.... do you imagine ? :D
What about putting them to sleep first with E? That ult doesn't need much time to cast it

So you fight against a guy with that ult.. just don't attack him... ult is then worthless
He can put himself low on towers or bosses, engage, and virtually one-shot anyone by himself.
Was watching McIntyre and Co do it the other day.
More than the healing, it's a MASSIVE amount of burst on a single target, especially for a tank.
I can see why that ult has insane solo lane potential but honestly by that point you should be rotating and sticking your team for the objectives.
In teamfights stuff like uther's entire kit, Varian's shield wall, Alexs lifebinder, Muradin's stoneform into avatar, Genji's deflect are all pretty big counters by themselves.

Still waiting for Lady Vashj The Naga Sea Witch was one of my favorite WC3 Heroes and is one of the few missing! Could imagine her as Specialist wich is strong against buildings and wave clear with similar abilities like this:
Q: Forked Lightning (Dmg all Enemies in a cone Area)
W: Frost Arrows (Dmg boost for next 3 auto attacks + slow/freeze)
E: Parasite (DoT + summon murlocs/nagas when target dies)
D: Manashield (Absorbs dmg burns Mana instead, activate/deactivate)
R: Tornado (Follows a lane, dmg + cc to all Enemies, light dmg vs buildings)
R: Summon Naga Royal Guard (Naga Warrior with cleave auto attack, ignores Armor)

Ah of course, Neptulon one of the Elemtal Lords! Al Akir is my favorite of them. There are plenty of Heroes in Warcraft alone wich could be added to the game. Im pretty sure Deathwing will get implement too, one day. Its just a matter of time until more Heroes join the Nexus ;D
