Go with 70% and you won’t have any issues, if that scares you they also make 80% ceramic. The windshield is the largest piece of glass in your car and you should absolutely tint it within reason. Statement not valid in NJ or CA.
From a window film application owner, I would like to inform you and your readers: window tint has changed drastically over the last 10 years or so. That clear 70% window film blocks out 99% UV rays, rejects, depending on manufacturer anywhere from 70-80% of solar heat if you get your entire car tinted with even the 70% it blocks up to 96% of solar heat from the inside of your car. So no it's not a waste of money it actually saves your interior from the damage of the sun and also removes a tremendous amount of heat from your car which saves you gas money since your AC doesn't have to work so hard. Not to mention the fact it also blocks the UV light that causes cancer. Many other reasons to tint your ride but had to point out it's not a waste of money. esp when the tint is 70% you can not tell it is even there, with the exception it reduces glare and prevents a large amount of heat from entering into the car through the glass. Nano ceramic performs the best.
Just don't go noticeably dark. Honestly I hated it when mine was 15%. At night backing out of my driveway was a challenge. There wasn't much lighting and I had to avoid a tree. This was before backup cameras. I've switched cars since then and my current Acura doesn't have tint on the windshield. instead I have a clear ceramic film to remove most of the florida heat. That's my recommendation.
Raymundo Silva that’s like me I have 5% all around including the windshield on my m3 . Cops pull me over sometimes but when they run the plates and see it’s registered to my grandmother sometimes they don’t even stop me they just go around me
If you want to be legal, check your state laws, or ask the tint place. Some states and cities are stricter than others. Some don't allow any tint on the front side windows. My state allows 20% or lighter on the back side and rear windows, and 35% on the front legally. Cops can take a razor blade to illegal tint as well. Personally, I have 5% UV ceramic all the way around except the windsheild, and if I get pulled over, I usually roll down the front windows all the way. The one time I had a problem, I told the officer I did it because I had my tools stolen before and it helps with criminals not being able to see what's inside and are less likely to break in because they don't know if it's worth it. You can also get a medical prescription for tint from a doctor believe it or not. For light sensitivity or dermis (skin) issues. Some doctors may be cool with it, if you have light sensitivity that causes severe migraines or partial temporary blindness for example
I have all my cars windshields tinted 30% with the rest of the car at 5% limo and have never had issues with police in the 15+ years I been doing it. It keeps the car cooler and saves the interior
I live in Oregon and I’ve haven’t gotten a ticket yet (Knock on wood). But I have 5% sides and back and 35% on the windshield and it’s a perfect combo in my opinion
I don’t have a hellcat, BUT... I have tinted my entire front windshield and being in Texas, it’s nice to have especially in the scorching Texas heat. 50% on the windshield with 5% brow, 10% front and 1% on the rear glass.... nice to have.
I rather have no tints than 70% lol. I got 35% on windshield and 5% all the way around. Got a tint prescription from the doctor saying I have eye sensitivity (photophobia) which makes it legal.
It’s called dot matrix and there’s nothing you can do about it the tent will stick to the elevated black dots but will not stick to the glass in between any window tinter will tell you that Those that are designed to distribute heat so the windshield does not crack
Tinting your windshield is essential when you got 1. Rain when it’s sun out, idiots that drive with the high beams on every night, and last the dashboard protection. Just honestly no sense in going lower than 30-20% but it isn’t a mistake for certain markets of people.
I've never regretted tinting my windshields !! Ever !! I've always done 5% all around and 35% windshield tint with the 5% sun visor . I've only gotten pulled over once , (knock on wood) .. And I live in California where everything is illegal ! And I've never had a problem with coming close to running anyone over... again ( knock on wood) but I don't think 35% is dark enough to have that issue . but its dark enough to not be able to see through your car .
So I got 5% all around but wanna do my windshield... I don’t know if I should do 55% or 45%... since I got 5 all around do you think the 55 is enough to not really see in the car or should I do 45
I have this same set up also and live in California. It really does matter where you live. I live in a rough area, but so far only got a stare down from a Sheriff. Being a middle age chick has its perks at times 😂
I've done just about every single combination of tint on my windows from 5% blackout to 2.5% to 20% all around an I can say that 20% on the sides an back with a full 35% windshield is the best. Ive had it on my last three cars one being bright green Jeep Wrangler and a all black compass an now a 4 door wrangle an have yet to be harassed for It yet and it gives it it nice clean look but most importantly you can still actually see out of your car at night.

Car modification that affects roadworthiness is illegal in all states, and it has been allowed to slide for so long that I doubt we could ever undo all the horrific and dangerous vehicles on the road. One of the very worst being tinting that affects the drivers view outside the vehicle but the one I have found most dangerous is the black tinting of tail lights. This is especially true at certain hours of the day when the diminished light is hit by sunlight so that the sunlight effectively blows away the amount of light from the bulbs. Having nearly rear ended a pickup because they apparently had no tail lights at all, they made the right turn I also had to make and once we were going in another direction at a 90* angle to the original street we were on you could then see a feeble light coming out of the brake lights. Australia has the right idea about automobile modifications, if a modded vehicle is in an accident and the mod contributed in any way to the accident or prevented in any way the driver's ability to avoid that accident then insurance will not pay out and the driver is deemed by the state to be at fault. I am sure at least one Australian will clarify that claim but this is what I was told when I was down there in 2017. I have lived in states like Oregon where there is about a 98% chance that if you collide with a vehicle from behind you are going to get the ticket for unsafe driving, that other 2% where you would not is when a vehicle that is rear ended had no working tail lights, and modded tail lights that are so dim as to not serve as a functional warning to drivers behind you is almost guaranteed you will get the ticket rather than the person that plows into you. Break lights are a safety feature that should never be modified. A windshield should never be tinted, and a car that can be heard from a block away should be impounded till repaired.
I have 35% carbon on my windshield and visibility is basically no different than with no tint at all. And I think that's a dumb law of they say the accident is your fault if you have tint, what's the difference from that and someone wearing sunglasses while driving #facts
Surely a dual dashcam (front and rear) setup would completely make any “at fault due to windshield tint” claims irrelevant? My windshield has been tinted for about 2 and a half years now and have had this dual dashcam setup the entire time. Always wondered
The cop that stops you for tint.. is usually just bored af, angry at the world, or thinks he can get you on something else after stopped. It’s literally a huge pain in the ass to stop someone specifically just for tint. It’s almost 30 min of paperwork.. over TINT ! Trust, most would rather not. He honestly was just being a hater and was jealous… another VERY typical PD thing.
It’s not legal in most states there are a few that allow it. Florida is not one of them, however I put 80% on my windshield for the heat reduction you can barely notice it.
im 53 i did all that tint jazz when i was young man , mirror tint was my thing ,then i got older and it got harder to see out at night , no disrespect to you your car looks great , good luck
Anyone who would tint the windshield of any car, to say nothing of one with 700+ HP without medical necessity has seriously questionable judgement. Bad enough drivers have to hide behind limo tint in all the windows so that nobody will see their faces when they do their several stupid criminalities out on the road.
In Canada here if you have a 4 door car you can tint the back doors and back windows as dark as you like a 2 door car you can just tint the back window it’s illegal here to tint front driver and passenger doors and front window but anything not that you can go limbo dark and it’s legal

I currently have 0% All around & then 20% on the windshield 🥴😂. I’m in Ny & I’ve gotten pulled over more than 20 times and I beat it every time .. some of y’all just ain’t built for the dark life 😤
I got 0 all around too but how do you get out of the tickets I just show the judge old pics before it was tinted and say I removed it lmaoo pay20% court fee
the dots are there to prevent uv damage to the glass adhesive .
What are you thoughts on visibility with windshield tint below 50%?
@@willpower3317 if you have 20/20 vision and live in a big city go ahead but if you wear prescriptions or live in suburbia id stay away
I got 5% all around even on windshield and haven’t got pulled over 😂
How the hell do you see at night 🤯 ?
Darius Winder I got LED lights and LED fog lights
Raymundo Silva 😅 ok good . I was worried 😂
Raymundo Silva that’s like me I have 5% all around including the windshield on my m3 . Cops pull me over sometimes but when they run the plates and see it’s registered to my grandmother sometimes they don’t even stop me they just go around me
Fred JAmes I have Disabled Veteran tags on my car. Do you think they would bother me when I darken my Windows?
They can not 'take a razor blade' to your tints.
@@ratedRblazin420 Well then, I've so far seen two Highway patrol officers on different occasions take illegal actions.
There ain't like a transition tint, like.. that would be kool. Up to dark and slow gets clearer going down on the windshield 🤔
Vehqzi how did you go about getting that?
Photophobia.

It’s called dot matrix and there’s nothing you can do about it the tent will stick to the elevated black dots but will not stick to the glass in between any window tinter will tell you that Those that are designed to distribute heat so the windshield does not crack
Wow this makes me feel grateful in live in MD legal limit is 35%.
I don’t know if I should do 55% or 45%... since I got 5 all around do you think the 55 is enough to not really see in the car or should I do 45
@@douglascabinatan6042 45 is good 👍
35 is better !!
Me too.Currently have 25% all around and 45% on the windshield. All ceramic. Its just right for me.No stops yet.
Yeah I agree. 20% on the sides and rear is perfect for me and 50% on the windshield is perfect
Thats like the sweet spot for me. 20 on the sides 35 windshield! Not too dark but enough privacy.
This is what I’m gonna do 35% shield/back and all other windows 20% should be decent

Yeah that is true I went with 50% just to be on the safe side but it sucks barely looks tinted in the day and you can only tell the windows are tinted at night I went with the 50% so I don't get pulled over
@GLA POSTAL SERVICE I'm in Chicago sometimes they just randomly pull cars over and just look for anything I've been pulled over for having a dirty license plate/none illuminated plate before I had the tinted plate cover on the cop said my plate wasn't illuminated which I knew was BS he did too so he just looked at my license and insurance and let me go I've also been pulled over for having bird shit on my windshield cop said he thought it was a cracked windshield he also just looked at my license and insurance and let me go so I lucked out a little too but it is a little annoying especially when you know you haven't done anything wrong
50% is pretty worthless to be honest, I have 5 percent all the way around even the eyebrow is 5%.
GLA POSTAL SERVICE - Noooo not the whole windshield bro hell naw that’s too damn dark 🤣

I have ceramic clear on front all other windows and sunroof are max legal here in Florida . Even though it is clear it makes a huge difference on inside car temps during summer . Cuts glare too. My hellcat is the first car I’ve done the windshield . I was impressed with the difference .
Good info, thanks
I have 5% all around and 35% on the windshield; one of the best things i've done.
Tinting your front windshield is extremely stupid and dangerous because it reduces forward looking visibility.
Yea true
I got double limo all around and 15% on the windshield
Same bro

I got 20% all the way around on my jeep in Ohio and I can see fine at night. No issues with police.
Ohio sheesh state patrol play no games
Surely a dual dashcam (front and rear) setup would completely make any “at fault due to windshield tint” claims irrelevant? My windshield has been tinted for about 2 and a half years now and have had this dual dashcam setup the entire time. Always wondered
People really think a doctor is going to respond to this
@@frederickbailey7786 I’ll answer it, insurance companies don’t give af about windshield tint. Speaking from experience now
i just tinted my whole windshield 50% with the tint strip. So it looks like i just added the strip lol

No 5% like in Houston
I tinted my car exactly like you did, but it didn’t make my camry look like a Helicat
Does tinting your window affect the performance of your detector in the front windshield???🤔
it shouldn’t because it’s based off of radar signal and not sight
I got the legal windshield tint after talking with a trooper and looks clear but has a great UV in it to help protect the dash, love it
It’s not legal in most states there are a few that allow it. Florida is not one of them, however I put 80% on my windshield for the heat reduction you can barely notice it.
I remember the supercharger barring issue. I think SRT mush had that issue
Yea man when i heard that noise i was like WTF 😂. This isn’t supposed to happen on the 2018’s lol
im 53 i did all that tint jazz when i was young man , mirror tint was my thing ,then i got older and it got harder to see out at night , no disrespect to you your car looks great , good luck
Do people willingly buy Dodge’s or is it a credit thing?
3m crystalline tint is the one to use. Very light color but very efficient. NASCAR drivers use it. I don’t need sunglasses to drive my car. $300.
I'm also from NYC I have limo all around . I've been lucky so far one ticket for the tints in the last two years.

I want my windshield tinted dark also for looks but not sure if I’ll do it I know it’s just going to draw to much attention. Might go 70%clear ceramic on the windshield with the 5% sun visor strip. 🤷♂️
Don't do the sunvisor strip imo, just puts stress on the tint below it and looks bad. Just leave it at 70% with a ceramic and you will forever be out of trouble. Cops cant even notice.
Do 50% on the windshield only. No gay strip. Looks ghetto.
Just FYI in ceramic you can get 75 % which is basically clear and gives me heat resistance than any other tint and takes the glare away. i have it on my windshield i don't even know its there.
