I get 20% all around with a 5% strip on the windshield - never had a full windshield tint but I've driven vehicles with full windshield tint (20%) and it was nice during the day. I wouldn't do it myself, though.
35% tint is the happy medium-not too dark, not too light-and practical for both night and day driving. 20% is ... yeah, getting a bit dangerous. You'll be fine if you have good lighting. 15% and lower is a bit suicidal. I like 20%, all around 35% to 50% on the windshield.

I like 70 on the windshield, 30s in the front, and 20s in the rear with a quality ceramic. I'm not a fan of reduced visibility on daily. That setup does look sick, though. .
From what I been researching I just need dark side windows (20%) and semi dark windshield (35%)to make it look like the front is the same tint as the side windows. Correct me if I’m wrong 😭 ceramic not carbon

To darken the cabin you need to do 20% on the windshield. Thats what i have and it turned my 20% sides into limo tint. But goddamn some of you dudes need to grow a pair!! Quit being a sweet little sissy, go as dark as you want on the windshield. It’s already illegal, so get what you want. Its no sense in taking a risk to only half ass it. Get 20%. So, I got 5% all around with 20% on my windshield based off of your video with your wrx about 2 years ago. I live in jersey, and where you were was the boondocks if you were 2 hrs into jersey and nothin but trees around. You get used to driving at night with the windshield tint in jersey. I drive through the boonies at night from time to time and to me, it depends on how good and bright your lights are. Halogen bulbs aren’t going to do it. One MUST have LEDs or HIDs to have a dark windshield.
Great Video Thank You, I am from South Florida i have a tint exemption which allows me to tint without restrictions. My car is 5% Nano Premium, Windshield is 15% nano. I upgrade the headlights to the brighties led i could find i still run high beam at night with fog lights, i have seen many times cops pull out when i pass they run my tag and soon they go around or turn back. As you said you cant see inside. I have had people people try to open my doors especially when parked in parking lots. I wait for people to try to open the door at that second i cracked the by window and my Geeman Shepherd 100lbs on guard and waiting alwaya does rhe trick. I also have the same setup on my older van i converted into a rv bed tc game system the works its amazing being able to pull into a walmart or where ever turn off the lights crawl into bed knowing pwople cant see in. Thats always a plus. And during the summer 100+ you can seriously tell a difference. I never feel rhe hest coming in which is great and jt helps the ac to work alot less.
that's a solid set up! 15% windshield is definitely darker than what most people would dare to get, but it has it's benefits. People are crazy these days, so privacy goes a long way!
Looks dope. I put 15% on my windshield not too long ago. I had it removed a few days later because the "silvering" effect of the dot matrix looked especially bad with the dark tint. Clarity wise, no problems during the day but driving at night in the mountains with no street lights (I live in Colorado) is a bit dark and some might have an issue. Did you learn to live with the dot matrix issue or do you have a fix for it?
@@carjockey2135 Most aftermarket market windshields have raised dot matrix. I just had my Volvo windshield replaced with factory glass and the dot matrix was not raised. It’s as if it’s painted into the glass. This makes for a proper tint job because the tint will lay flat against the glass.
People never consider the number and size of windows, along with the interior color. More windows = more light so it looks lighter. I have 20 with a 35 windshield on a sedan with an espresso color interior. It looks much darker than the white interior with the same setup.
yeah this is true, great points to consider. I've only had black interiors, but have worked on teslas with white interiors. it feels like the only way to get a blacked out look on those is to paint the windows lol

I have 5 percent rear 3 , 15 percent 2 front windows . And just dis 35 on the windshield . It looks super dark from the outside visibilty changes quite a bit at night time but its very doable . I highly suggest dont go more than 35 on the front . Otherwise your tint may cost you your life at night time
Infiniti QX 60 with 5% all around/35% windshield, rain was a challenge until I treated them with RainX Water Repellent. PERFECT blend as you mentioned.

Yes here in the USA cops do pull you over for it, but it is rare. But if they do pull you over, they usually just give you a warning or a small fine to pay. Or they give a warning and ask you to remove it within 30 days. But no they dont impound your vehicle, that is ridiculous

@@mattmason7554 40-50 might as well not have window tint. Black out windows not only look good to many, but provide great privacy for people who carry gear and equipment in their cars. Dark tint also prevents your interior from being sunbleached. Many benefits/reasons to get darker tint 20% and below
@@mattmason7554it depends. I have 3 Mercedes among other brands. And on my smoke silver SL I wouldn’t put a dark tint. 20 -30 % is enough. 55 % on windshield. But on my Black E Class with black interior I put 15% on the rear and rear window. It looks great! With 20 % on the front side windows and 45 % on the windshield on XPEL Plus and it worked wonders to get the sunshine out of a black on black leather car. It was miserable before and could barely feel the air conditioning. Still looks classy. On my silver wagon it’s got 36 % all around (somehow) Guess they used 40 % and 55 % on the windshield and looks very classy. You do have to be careful though don’t want the Benz to look cheesy. On my red Porsche and Ferrari that I have to tint I will go a little lighter. But still don’t like the attention they bring. So may end up going 20-30 % anyhow.

Just to do with privacy and keeping out the sunlight. Tinting the windshield I found is the best! Keeps so much heat off the steering wheel & seats when you get in so it doesn’t burn you. And your hands feel the cold air. When it’s not tinted you won’t feel that. And oh yes I do. Have about 15 cars.
When I first got my 370z I did 5% all around including the windshield. THAT was dumb and way too dark. But 5% with a 20% windshield is my sweet spot

@Tendertroll1 I went to a major chain, Tint World. They say that it's a house brand, but I'm sure it's just rebranded from one of the major companies.

My car has rear factory tinting, plus 5% which brings it down to 1%. I can say this is too dark. At night, those windows might as well not exist.
