As I saw you struggle with the fuller prop I remembered the old days when move it had no precision mode (by holding CTRL) moving hard to select objects was a real pain back then. Right now though you can move an object that is unselectable with LMB by simultaneous holding CTRL and MMB. Yes it will be in precision mode, but it saves you a lot of time.
I always wondered why decorative networks had a maximum height of 9 metres. I had a few arch bridges I wanted to use, but the thing that annoyed me was that the pillars of the arch were too short!
Hi, I've been trying to learn a little bit more on how to design better looking railways with you channel. Thanks for this content. But I'd like to request something, that maybe for you might be kinda dull or stupid, but I'm really struggling and it's tking away the "joy" hahaha. Could you do a video-lesson on how to design the tracks a freightyard? On those there are a lot of connections and junctions close to each other and I'm not been able to manage it. Your video on the Liverool Street Station was aewsome to understand the full potential, but if it had a commentary it'd be perfect for what i'm having trouble to solve. Thanks for your content and the great edition you do on them
Heya! Freight yards and using the overlayer mod to create copies of real-world infrastructure is definitely on my list of videos to make, however it's quite advanced in technique. My plan is to build up a bank of videos with basic technique that people can use to learn along and then show of freight railways as a more advanced video. It might be a while yet, but do keep your eyes peeled :)
@@kjmci i do agree with you: it's really not-as-simple-as-it-looks and it seems that really depends on one's habilities, technique and knowlegde of the mod's usage. I'm learning here with you, so keep it up. Thanks for the reply. Cheers.
@@kjmci ok so, I kinda loss my patience as I've tried another network, NAR, and the same glitch/problem happened again. My problem, which i though was related to my unexperience with Railway 2 system and method, happened the same way with NAR. So, I come here for some advice or help. My main isse has been placing junctions close to each other, to configure a yard. Having a single line feeding multiple paralels lines close to each other. I've tried moving nodes, making bigger and smaller segments, aligning them. I use most mods as everyone, move it, node controller. I'm linking a image here with a quick demostration of some of the glitch i'm having. I really donno Maybe I'm missing a mod? Maye a problem with my install? Any help or guidence i'd be very thankfull. imgur.com/a/CnO0lOS
You need to use nodeless track if you're making very tight junctions like you see in a railway yard. Look at my Liverpool Street Station Approach video: th-cam.com/video/VClsZovq7Uw/w-d-xo.html and set the playback speed to 0.5x. You'll see how I use nodeless tracks to work in tight spaces.
@@kjmci oooohhhh, now it made sense. I couldn't see for sure which one you were using. Never came to mind to slow it down! Thanks so much. The song also got relly lo-fi mood at that speed. Thanks!!
Great idea, but unfortunately that's a tricky one - sunken station tracks are very peculiar and hard to work with. There are ways around it, but the alternative is quite complicated for a tutorial video. There are some creators trying to address the issues with sunken station tracks, so I'm going to hold off while they do their best to solve that particular problem.
A kjmci video a day keeps the bad mood away
So glad that you enjoy them! Thanks for the kind words ❤️
Great video. I too used to get annoyed when I couldn't grab the rulers. Now I convert them to PO before working with them.
That's a great idea! Somebody else mentioned using CTRL and the middle mouse button but I haven't had a chance to test yet.
REALLY useful technique - I use these elevated "arcade" bridges a lot in my city and this is a great way to get the arches even!
Glad it was helpful!

Great tip, thank you!
Ah yes another amazing upload
Thank you!

I think it's to reflect the real-world arcades they were modelled off, but the arched mainline networks have some pillars too I think.
Thank you for these videos
My pleasure!

@@kjmci Aww that's a bit of a shame i've always wanted to make a sort of Stratford International-ish station in C:S
Great minds think alike 😉 imgur.com/a/VT1wUHr
@@kjmci Oh my that's awesome!
Probably a nightmare to build and get right but still-
why im placing a track by REVO always dont have catenary?
When you say they don't have catenary - are they missing the wires, the supports, or both?
