You could do some outrageous infrastructure and city planning shit in SC4, especially for the time I was out. Vanilla or mods and it really set the bar on what is expected in future games of this niche genre. And, in my opinion, no other city builder/manager (though, let's be honest, this is a region builder/manager...if not small nation state building and managing) game has ever come remotely close to SC4. And CS came in like nobody's business and just launched expectations into the expsphere. Yawned, and then blasted off again. Honestly, I need to look this up. But I wouldnt be surprised if many SK developers were from Maxis and developed SC4 (and the 3000, etc., etc..). Between the similarities in the direction of where the devs want you to go (anywhere and everywhere), and do what they want you to do (anything you can think of), and lastly, and maybe most importantly and, obvious, is the soundtrack for the different periods of progress, starting out, old city, tempos and tones, and reflecting the city life below.
Not a reservoir fir fresh water, its a poop collector. Then the pumps suck out the poop. Its a game hack as long as the water pumps are connected to at least 1 pipe they work, you then ensure they are not connected to your main system and the poop water magically disappears.

That's god damn fucking brilliant, mate! WOW. I swear with every video I watch I catch a glimpse of something so incredibly brilliant...but in hindsight after seeing it done. Seems SO fucking obvious.
This game, vanilla and mods, allow you to do just about anything you can think of )with infrastructure, city planning, life and society/town/city/metropolis, etc., etc.) if you know how to make it.Theres a level of freedom and possibility and control that I'm just used too....my brain is still in SimCity4/Rush hour mode and mentality.
@@alpinewomble946 god damn brilliant.
while he finished his 850,000 , i still thinking where i will place the high school perfectly
Outside my window rain despondency and mesper, thank you for making my evening better perhaps for someone it will be strange to watch such a long video but I liked it
:D
91% of traffic with 850K pop, I have 58% with less than 200K
if you put it to .25 speed, it looks more like real time, and sounds neat!
I think half time looks more like real time.
0.5 is the real time
That’s impressive, never been able to do that. And fantastic traffic movement
i like to think that this video is not sped up but rather he works and builds just so quickly by himself
Well the comments say he took 12.5 hours to make this.
What the benefit of water tower over pumping station? you need to connect houses with pipe anyway.
Wait so if it's 2.5h long and it's 5x speed then this took like... 12.5 hours? Is my math wrong?!
Your not wrong...

My problem is that when my cities reach 100k the time scroll is VERY slow, you have to have a hell of a pc to have a city as big as the one in the video
I fit 450k into 9 tiles. How did you get 25 tiles?
Why does the number keep increasing? Please tell me! :)
That’s the population of the city.
Your roads layout is beautiful
I thought without mods you could only use 9 tiles…
Yeah I think he only has the 25 tiles mod
Wait, I'm confused. He's dumping sewage in the canal then pumping it again but where is it going? I don't see any dumping spot?

Very cool! everything is neat and very smooth
You should use hot keys for straight road, curved road, the third one and change of direction. I use F1, F2, F3 and F4! And ^ key for bulldozer. Much easier playing with both hands!
i didn't know we could do that

Im just wondering how the trafic is doing. At the last part of the video you see a lot of red of trafic jams... shouldnt you try to fix those to make a better town in stead of building more?
No se si entiendas este mensaje pero...ERES EL MEJOR! Que paciencia y cerebro amigo, mis felicitaciones!
I've played Starcraft for many years at a decently competitive level and City Skylines at a casual level. This video is how I imagine I'd play if I managed to combine those two skillsets.
I can’t believe I just watched 2 hours of someone building a ficcional town without skipping a sec I-

I know these are just pedantics, but its hardly no mods when its 25 tiles when in the base game you can only have 9 (3x3) of 25 (5x5) on a map that is 81 (9x9) tiles big.
