  • RS TDI on the left, RS TSI on the right, appropriate stereo sound. As you may see, diesel version is quite comparable till some 180 km/h, then the petrol verison plays its own game.     Looks like fun, now run them at both at top speed and see which one runs out of fuel first :D It is a surprise though how well the TSi pulls in 6th gear. Wasn't expecting that!

    There is a big power difference, 6th gear from the low revs is just a sick test. The tsi is extremly smooth. You should compare the 2.0 tdi with a audi a4 2.0 tsi 180HP. That would be a fair test

      the 1.8 tsi pulls with almost no turbo lag from little over 1000rpm, very similar to the 2.0 tsi, just a bit slower. should still win the 6th gear pull against the tdi. very very good engine.

    Remap Stage one revo on my 2016 TDI cuna engine. Blows the 220 TSI away ! Equally comparable to the 245, but with stronger upper range. 235bhp 425nm of torque !! piper cross air filter. Very happy !

      Not comparable to the 245 even remotely, the TSI develops more power over a longer rev range so is far quicker. Nevertheless the REVO map is mental, just had it done today and its transformed the car. 1/2 gear used to be a joke stock, now it really pulls aggressively through the rev range. Other maps are not comparable

      krystof si ma pekne pobavil :D ...preco od audi ? kedze audi ma to iste co samotna skodovka okrem V6 V8 diesel hm ? :D ...ved to je jeden koncern...ale take iste maju aj oni v audine ..lenze audina je nieco viac ako skoda kedze ma daleko sportovejsie auta kde octavia rs je len tam kde maximalne asi a3 limusine s tym istym motorom 2.0tsi tdi ale vzdycky diesel bol na silu do nakladnych aut uzitkovych a podobne nie do sportovych ...tam bol predsa benzin takze nemozes povedat ze do kosacky toto ked niekto napise tak nema nieco v poriadku v hlave :D ...TDI v rs verzii je len preto lebo dali auto ktore ide skor na spotrebu je pre tych ktory jazdia dlhe trasi pohodlne a ktomu stale maju rso {vyzorovo trosku aj podvozkovo a brzdy} ale motor je motor a 2.0tsi je neskutocne motor ktory sa da pekne ladit a nehovoriac ako to ide ...taky stage 3 co je vyfuk sanie chip intercooler ma 400k octavica a sa drzi v stope M4 co je celkom zahanbujuce

      @@nadsenec8512 tak ona ta spotřeba je dost zásadní, pokud plánuješ s autem ujet 300tis.+ za tu dobu, co ho budes mit a to si pak rozmyslis, jestli uchlastany bezin, nebo usporny diesel. Pokud se jezdi jen trosku, po meste nebo 5km do prace ... tak to chudak TDI. Nechtěl bych živit 2.0TSIčko - 9l/100, ted s odstupem casu muzu rict, ze 2.0 TDI 125kW v oktavce je opravdu super, obycejne jezdeni, ale kdyz potrebujes pridat nebo se vrhnout do zatacky ... mlask, drtiva vetsina aut to nema sanci chytit. Neni to tah na pul hodiny, ale od toho ten diesel neni, ten je na kratke zatizeni. S fabkou 1.2TSI 63kW jezdim prumerne po 480.000 km za realnych 5,85 :) ale jezdim teda do 120ti na dalnici, a moc to nehonim, kdyz nemusim ... kdybych na to slapal, myslim tak 6,5 bych mel urcite ... takze ten benzin je sice v prvni rade levnejsi na nakup a eventualne na udrzbu motoru, ale podle najetych km si to musi kazdy spocitat sam :) co je vyhodnejsi ... pozn. ano skutecne rikam, RS usporna, neni to sportak, ani zavodak, je to dynamictejsi priblizovadlo, co v liftbacku i hezky vypada ... :)

      and the last test with 6gear with diesel engine ... there is clear, the full gas is not pressed ... or there was a hill, but never seen in my 2.0TDI 170bhp RS, that the 6th was so slowly accelerating ... some shit smells here :) (edit. I know, petrol is better, but diesel si not so bad the video is showing :)

Ano, ale dvoukolka ty kone neprenese vsechny na silnici ... takze zase ... zadnej zavodak ... ja osobne vlastnim O II RS 2.0TDI, a jsem spokojenej, nezavodim, na predjeti to booohate staci a do kopce jede a v zatackach to drzi .... tod vse ... ale rozhodne to nezavodi :D ani kdyby bylo v TSIcku ... btw, nemluve TSI spotreba v OIII 11L/100KM :-O kdyz mas najezd jako ja, cca 80-90k za rok... radsi budu jezdit s dieslem, ktery mi i pri zabavnejsi jizde vezme max 6,5 ... pri normalnim sviznejsim cestovani 5,7. Jediny co me sere, ted v zime, ze se to ohriva kurna pomalu :) a dobre si rozmyslete, co kupujete, je to dost tvrdy ... bohuzel, na druhe strane vyvazneo stabilnimi jizdnimi vlastnostmi v zakrutach :)

    something is very wrong with the tdi u tested, with my car from 60 in top gear i can accellerate much faster than that with quite a bit of power less... i drive an alfa 156 1.9 145 hp

    With same engine size and comaprable boost the petrol engine will eat the diesel for lunch and have a mich wider range of useable torque.

      that is just planned obsolence. you can build a petrol engine just as well as a diesel engine. but as there is no natural requirement for it why should the manufacturers do it? afterall, it means you buy a new car.

    diesel overall perform at "low"-rpm. they mostly stop at 5000, most under 5000. with petrol you can go at 8000 if you overpower the engine. so not a surprising "test"

    Desel does not belong to a sports car but only strasi-country with my family for low power consumption does not have sound stinks and it has power ... Advantages of uses less than gasoline but where will save the desel will repair more often than on the road: D

    This I liked a lot when compared at 6 speed TSI and TDI ... I expected that greater flexibility will have Nm TDI whatsoever but it is not so ... what surprised me very simply tsi "gasoline is gasoline"

      flexibility , TSI = compressor + turbo , TDI = Turbo , TSI has have power of compressing air alomst from idle rpm .... add compressor to TDI than compare ;)

      22trol22 there is a comparation of 2.0 petrol(220 hp) and 2.0(184 hp) diesel both stock, so i think that if you want to compare both 220 hp, the diesel engine couldn't be 2.0 or stock, and then it wouldn't be relevant. I think that you can get more power from 2.0 petrol than diesel... why would be the fastest car on the world petrol if diesel is more powerful? i don't want to argue, that is just my opinion...

    Nah, A Diesel engine you can drive over 500 tkm easily and a petrol you can barely make it to 300 tkm. Plus those TSI+DSG engines aren't reliable.

    This is a stupid comparison. I would like to see how the two engine types compare if they have *THE SAME* brakehorse power. What good is a comparison of 184ps and 220ps?
    The whole idea would be to check if at the same power the torque really makes a difference or is it better to have petrol engine and be able to rev the car to much higher RPM.

      22trol22 220 hp TDI is stronger than 220hp TSI because TDI achieves this performance at lower rpm so it has more torque. Power get out of supercharging, or greater rpm (and the larger has the right TSI), in fact, both engines are equally strong at 4000 rpm 140 kilowatts TSI 190hp (+2000 rpm = more power out 220hp) TDI 185hp 135 kilowatts (max rpm no more power out)
      220hp TDI stronger and more flexible 220hp TSI only to sprint faster. Same power at the maximum rpm but shorter gear = victory, but a lower power to 4000 rpm = weak and not flexible. 220hp TSI 185hp TDI same performance at the same rpm = equally strong. with shorter gears TSI is stronger faster, more flexible. We need not cry from the 300 hp TDI stronger than the same in the TSI when we know that we can have 500hp in motorbike.

      MyLowskill hmm sure :D stop said shit because I've had enough ... my friend has ibiza cupra 1.9 petrol turbo 220hp 1.6bar and invested in the 1500eu the performance increase too ..ja mam 1.8t + gas 0.8b has twice as many bar graphs turbo and almost the same performance;) and I have just zvyhnuty pressure turbo boost through the cooler for 23eu .. and do I make from 150hp to 200hp ... and when we compared the performance of both cars overtook me but slowly ... ja mam graphs and Tahsis car he again lose power at low RPMs what I like to use them again in the graphs sprektre rpm; ) ... I have the same weight and performance 1.8t I would put it down :) not said of Desel is better than gasoline: D
