Brad can run 8 on his max 6 setup on his exb .. will be keeping an eye on Jacks 8s rig to see the longtivity of the rear diff .. mines been bulletproof since logic uk installed the LSD plates .. all great fun 😎👍

Hopefully the rear diff holds up - im probs going to open the diffs up this week and change the oil, like to let them run a bit before changing the oil. Mine has been solid as well since i put the 3 star plates each side. Im sure Arrma have it sorted on these second batch now, if not i have a full 3 star open diff ready to go in.
Yeah im going to run mine on 8s in the summer when we go for the really big jumps at the mega send skate park or at Paddlesworth.

I use 3m vhb clear silicon mounting tape under my motor. You need to put some alcohol on top so the motor can slide about when fitting. Once the alcohol dries it's not going anywhere. you could also try filling a balloon with mastic.

Thanks, Music is very hard to chose as everyone has different tastes, its one of the hardest things to do when editing in my opinion, but we do like try to only have it as background music if we do add it, unless its for a montage then we may drop the audio for slow-mo bits etc. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍

Thanks - found the 1100kv a bit to heavy though especially with the 8s packs in, so have dropped down to an 1250kv Spektrum motor from the 8s cars as its a bit lighter

Thanks - was yours one of the second batch ? not had an issue with this one yet and run it a few times, also "MY" EXB (this new one is my sons Jack) i have not had an issue with the diffs since going to open with the 3 start plates. I do need to go over the diffs now we have run it a bit and change the oil.
Full throttle is hard as the front lifts - but it is fun 😂😂
And I thought I was crazy for installing the XLX2 AND 1100KV motor with 35/47 gearing on my Outcast 8s 🤣🤣🤣👍. This is insane but fun 🤣👍
LOL - it is a bit extreme, dont even have the radio set to 100% power its so much - but as you say its fun 👍

Thanks, the biys put me to shame with their driving. Only things i have had to upgrade thus far is the rear hinge pins to M2C tool streel and the CRCu rear hinge pin holders. Stock hinge pins have been an issue on both our EXB's now

@@BarstoneRC Yes im still running the max6 and 1650kv on my EXB on 19 tooth pinion, no heat issues, but do have the big fan on the ESC and also a heat sink on the motor, but tbh i dont think its needed.
I did try 23 tooth, but it kept losing power when punching just before the jumps, have 21 tooth to try, but then though when i want to go really bog i can just put it on 8s power 😂😂

Sweet video guys. what diff fluids did you use for it?
Thanks - just using stock fluids at the moment, being LSD they adjust based on the load any way, not found any need to change the thickness on our other Kraton EXB, but will see how this one goes with the bigger power
@@HardcoreRC wow ok. Yeh I was told the same LSD don't really matter of the thickness. I went 50k front and 200k Center 20k rear. Remember your rear end is open . I'm actually waiting for the LSD rear from horizon. All LSD is gonna be great
@@paulrakis This is second batch so rear is LSD but set to minimum effect.
I did start changing the fluid on our other EXB (First batch) but changed back after doing it as they felt so stiff with the LSD plates in.
If the diff is slipping the LSD plates then limit the amount of slip, so in essence the LSD stiffen the diff when required, so way less need to try to tune with ticker oil.
On my other EXB i do run the rear open with 3 star plates each side and have 20k oil in that
@@HardcoreRC wow nice. Yeh I'm gonna rebuild my rear diff this week. Hope to get my EXB back online soon with all new fluids. I don't really run my car too much in the cold things can break easier. Over 50 degrees I go out bashing

The limiting factor on battery height is really the sliding front mount, easy option is just take that out and we also added another strap going round the sides of the batteries at the front, so it has the long strap going length ways and two straps going sideways.

Love the vids and can y’all please let me know how the 1100kv works for you I put it in mine after the 1650kv but I’m going back to an 1/8 motor because I keep breaking the rear diff and pinions, also how many teeth was the pinion you used?
Thanks Dude, if anything goes wrong with the diffs we will let people know. Was it on the EXB you were breaking diffs ? on the 1100kv we are running 32 tooth pinion on the 50 tooth spur. This is a second batch EXB so diffs should be shimmed right now
@@HardcoreRC yes it was the exb and I’d rebuilt the diffs a few times also using the lsd plates and shimming the gear mesh, I do drive my cars every day I can so there’s a lot of abuse on them, thanks for replying many people don’t😀
I've got the same setup but I'm running a 27tooth pinion to keep the heat down and i found it is running faster topend than the 29 tooth that was in it to start. I haven't put 8s in it yet just 6s. Plenty fast for me
It certainly is stupid powerful, we actually ended up swapping the motor out for a 1250kv Spektrum one from the 8s cars, just found the 1100kv too heavy for major bashing. Hope your having fun with yours

Thanks - this is an EXB Chassis, but yes its the standard RPM rear Skid plate, which should fit on a V5 chassis fine as well, only difference between v4 and v5 is the 3d formed ridges and slightly wider, you may been to trim the edges of the skid plate to clear the 3d formed ridges, but shouldn't be by much if any

It the 1/8th Scale - hard to handle that power though, sop ended up changing chassis to Mojave one so its longer and also changing motor to 1250kv Spektrum one as that 1100kv Hobbywing is so damn heavy

@@MuscleAKAOzzy On the old mount it didn't support the underside of the fan, so when mounted there was a gap between the heat sink and bottom of fan.
On really big hard landings this meant the fan could still break, i started putting as small bit of high density foam between heatsink and middle of the bottom part of the fan.
The new basher mount has a circular support now.

Ok guys I know this is a old post but been watching this build for a while just got the exb today and max6 combo where did you get the motor mount from pls as I'm not impressed with the stock exb one even less impressed that there's no motor mount screws with the max6 also what size is the pinion your using thanks and happy Christmas
Motor mount is from: practicalproto.com/products/grublock-motor-mount-for-arrma-6s-blx-platform are you in the USA ? pinion on the 1100kv motor is 32 tooth and if your using a 1650kv then would suggest 19 - 21 tooth.
The motor mount screws should have been with the EXB, have never bought a motor that had mounting screws.
Just so you are aware we no longer use the 1100kv motor as its just to heavy really, the 1650kv motor is a far better choice

@@paulhogg7659 From memory used both the spacers on the servo to lift it up as high as could away from the chassis.
The PPS mount cant normally be got from badtouchbreakers.com/ in the UK
Thanks mate only just figured out they have supplied a 23t servo horn need a 25 been a bit unlucky with it didn't get any bits with it no pinion motor mount screws or shims hope they redeem themselves and the diffs are perfect 😂
@@paulhogg7659 I would hae a a word with who you bought it from regarding the missing screws, not sure they come with pinions now - i get min from here: www.rwracing.co.uk/product/cnc-1-module-steel-pinions-5mm-bore looks like they have one 20 tooth one left in stock.
They only come with 23t servo horns now - used to be 25 tooth, but then they switched to 23 tooth to try to make people by Spektrum servos. If you got the DS3225 servo with the ali servo arm you should be able to use that, just used a longer M3 screw and some washers / shims to lift it up like this th-cam.com/video/Vws5IiolhDk/w-d-xo.html
What EXACTLY do I need to mount my 5687 motor in the Kraton EXB? I have everything ordered but need to know about the motor mount
You will need either the PPS or MMM motor mount as that motor is too big for the stock mount - are you in the USA ?

Quick question I’m using Spektrum 14.8V 5000mAh 4S 50C battery on my kraton 8s but it seems to give out a lot I’m thinking about going with another brand any recommendation on the best batteries to put in a kraton 8s I look for batteries on Amazon that people have recommended on TH-cam but all I see is bad reviews it seems like on Amazon it’s a hit or miss
Spektrum Lipo's do suck, they are over priced and not that good. What country do you live in as that will depend on what you can get, also how long do you want to wait as you can get some good ones from China but normally takes 3 weeks to arrive

That is actually a home made one, made a mold from a ridge one and then put hotglue in the mold 😂😂 but the ones i have made i get from Liam on this group facebook.com/groups/847155936085678 - very nice made out of TPU

What servo do you run on the 6S EXB with 8S motor and ESC? 8.4volt? And what Kg torque?
Our normal go to servo is this one www.banggood.com/custlink/KGmEociUy6 however in this car we used the uk.banggood.com/JX-Servo-PDI-HV7232MG-30KG-Large-Torque-180-High-Voltage-Digital-Servo-p-1074875.html?cur_warehouse=CN&rmmds=search the Max6 only has option for 6v or 7.4v so we run it on 7.4 volts

@@arika.8926 on the 1,100kv motor we went with 32 tooth Pinion and the 50 tooth spur. We dont run this motor anymore though as its really too heavy for the big sends we do

Yes Callum's notty will be back out - just put a Arrma Skin on it and have a new Blue Body, just limited in cars i can fit in my boot, and talion is his flavor of the month currently 😂

The motor mounts that come with the kit doesn’t fit ?
Stock motor mount is only good up to 50mm motors - if you go with a motor of 50mm diameter you need a aftermarket motor mount
What tape did you use to reinforce the body?
Have found the best to be Gyproc FibaTape Xtreme Plasterboard Joint Tape 48mm x 90m and then either E6000 or Shoegoo

What would he faster 800kv or 1100kv
Would depend on voltage and gearing, at the same voltage then the 1,100 would spin faster but have less torque

Currently on a 32 tooth pinion and 50 tooth spur

Unfortunately not, plus we have just changed it a bit per todays video, you might be able to get your local hobby shop to build you one, but they really are not that hard to build

@@deepvoice2652 Its very nice, better for speed running though, or a smaller motor if bashing hard, we did manage to bend it, but the 1100kv motor is stupid heavy for bashing really

I thought you had the original spektrum setup the kraton comes with. That's what I was comparing the hobbywing 1100 to. I forgot exb trucks are rollers. Too much weed. I have a outcast 8s and I'm ordering xlx2 esc and hw1100. Hopefully it is a big difference for me. I'm trying to back flip that beast of a truck.

We have actually swapped out to a 1250kv motor from a 1/5th Arrma now- the hobbywing was just to heavy for the bashing we do
