How The Most Talented Trio In NFL History Failed To Win A Super Bowl...

  • Long ago, the Pittsburgh Steelers had accumulated a trio of Antonio Brown, Ben Roethlisberger, and Le'veon Bell, arguably the three most talented guys ever assembled at one time. However, even with this much talent, the Steelers didn't win a single super bowl. In this video, we're going to uncover the factors, players, and overall madness, that led to the Killer B's failing to ever win a super bowl. Anyway, if you enjoyed this video, then like and comment if you want, and you can even subscribe if you think I've earned it.
With Antonio Brown going crazy, only one man can contain him, and Thatgoodsports is that man. With the aid of Mikerphone and various ancient spells of unforeseen power, the two must venture to the lair of Flemlo Raps, and hopefully find the lost Football Analysis. Now that Antonio Brown highlights keep giving people like Chase Chats and Tom Grossi forms of content, we can only wait for more football stories NFL players have told.

A big part of that 17' explosion after week 5 was the defense finally starting to come together behind Shazier's lights out play. Todd Haley, who was OC for the Steelers during this time, was interviewed on McAfee recently and he said “Pittsburgh’s fans are hard to please. You can have a record setting offense and they still won’t be happy.” To which I say, he had all that talent and never got them to the Super Bowl. It doesn’t matter what they do in the regular season unless they cap it off with a championship.

    • @mikepgh6529
      @mikepgh6529 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@WhiteG60 You are correct. As I stated, pressure from a large fan base can have an impact on winning. There’s more money in Pittsburgh winning than Cleveland. If 10% of Pittsburgh fans stop buying tickets and merchandise, that’s a lot more to lose than 10% of Cleveland fans.
The Pirates don’t have the national following that the Steelers do. Therefore, fan pressure doesn’t have as big an impact, because the Pirates winning doesn’t bring in as much money for the league as a bigger market.
So, if ownership acts like they don’t want a championship, but the customers do, the customers will let them know. If coaches come here and don’t want a championship, the fans will let them know, “Don’t come here. We won’t welcome you.”
If someone claims to be a football fan, and doesn’t know the number of Superbowls a player has won when trying to make a point. It’s not surprising if that person has no desire for their team to win a championship in the first place. This product is built to make money off of both of us. Enjoy watching your team lose.

Haley had a really bad relationship with Ben. This came up several times throughout Haley's time in Pittsburgh, so most, if not all, Steeler fans were aware of it, but almost no one talks about that, I imagine because the offense kept clicking. It is possible that Steeler fans put added pressure into Haley because of this, which is in line with the comment he made. It is also likely that this impacted the team's offensive performance, particularly in the playoffs. It is difficult to win a championship when the OC and the QB are in constant disagreement and don't get along. Add that to the defense being average at best throughout most of those years, and you have a recipe for a team good enough to make the playoffs, but not good enough to advance throughout the playoffs.

2015 - Ben's injury, AB killed by Burfict, fumble in next playoff game
    2016 - TB12 owns the Steelers' defense, Bryant's suspension, Heyward's injury
2017 - Shazier's injury, the Jesse James catch, and terrible defense in the playoff game vs JAC
2018 - Bell is out, drama, late-game choking
    2019 - Ben is out
2020 - 12-0 fluke start, narrow wins against bad teams
2021 - Team somehow wins 9 games despite sucking overall
    2022 - Ben's retired

As a die hard Steelers fan, this was a great time to watch Steelers football, but a massive disappointment as well.
There are many reasons why the Killer B’s trio never won anything.
    1. Was the Patriots. Steelers could never beat the Patriots when it mattered, especially in the 2016 AFC Championship game when they lost to the Patriots 36-17. The Patriots definitely cost the Steelers some opportunities.
    2. All three AB’s weren’t on the field as much as you think. AB almost never missed a game, Ben missed a decent number of games with injuries. And Le’veon was damn near always hurt or suspended. Missing crucial games including the 2014 wild card against the Ravens and most of the 2016 AFC championship against the patriots, leaving the 1st quarter due to injury.
    3. The most important reason was the defense. With as good as the Steelers offenses were in the Killer B’s era, the defenses were not so good. They were putrid to mediocre most of the time, always relying on the offense to put up points and wins. The best chance the Steelers had to win was during the 2017 season when they had a top 5 offense and they actually had a top 10 defense throughout most of the season. Until Ryan Shaizer went down, they no longer had that super athletic middle linebacker to cover the middle of the field, and teams destroyed them over the middle with short to medium ranged passes from there on out, look at the 2017 divisional game against Jacksonville, they absolutely missed Shaizer’s presence in the middle.
Plus Mike Tomlin having to deal with so many egos and big personalities on the team, those Steelers teams sure were talented, but they never were able to put it all together at the right time. And that era was full of missed opportunities and frustrating disappointments

I feel that Ryan shazier’s injury in whatever season it was was a death sentence for the Steelers. He was the glue for their defense being able to stop any outside run as an inside linebacker. I believe he was so fast that he beat a large portion of the Steelers wide receivers in a foot race AS A MIDDLE LINEBACKER

    • @shiorisaitou4846

Shazier was a big loss at the time because his backups were awful. He was a good player, not as great one. He attacked the wrong hole and missed tackles on a regular basis. He was good at being around the ball and being involved in t.o.'s. Shazier was on the field that season when Jacksonville ran for 200+ yards, the defense was still mediocre with him on the field.

Maybe if they did that, they might have had another ring. I always looked at this Steeler team as very streaky. They kind of went by how the Killer B's played. Once their egos got the better of them, things were not good and they started getting frustrated and egos got in the way. Honestly, Mike Tomlin deserves some credit for dealing with Antonio Brown as long as he did, I would not have even touched him no matter how big a player he became. It's infuriating to me to hear or read criticism of a professional sports team from a person who has only played with their organ. Since we are discussing the Steelers, let delve into the deeper issue of why this particular team didn't win.
Winning begins at the Top, it trickles down from the Owner to the equipment manager. In this particular case, as you focus on 3 players, there are 50 other men to consider, and their respective coaches. To consider three players, we need to consider Todd Hayley Offensive Coordinator, Quarterbacks Coach, Running Backs Coach, and Receivers Coach, and Mike Tomlin, however during this team dysfunction he was being undermined by Kevin Colbert, the General Manager.
Injuries are part of the game, and Bell had his fair share, and the hit on Brown by Burfict was cheap, but the Steelers coaching staff didn't make the necessary adjustments to overcome those holes in the Offense.
The General Manager and Head Coach certainly didn't deal with Brown properly after his Cecil B. De Mille moment. That Facebook live was the catalyst for the locker room cancer. The beginning of that cancer was awarding Brown that huge contract, which Steeler Saftey Ryan Clark warned about.
The Offensive dysfunction began between Roethlisberger and Todd Hayley, which precipitated in Haley's dismissal. Brown believed he was as significant to the organization as Ben, therefore he was going off on his coaches and teammates from not being hit during practice to not enough targets for touchdowns, and the management didn't put him in check, as they should.
Roethlisberger publicly criticizes the Offense and instead of quickly reprimanding him, General Manager Kevin Colbert throws gasoline on the fire by saying the Offensive players were his children. Who had to clean up that mess, Head Coach Mike Tomlin; dysfunction ran rampant in the organization from the Top down. That's why three players weren't capable of lifting the organization on their collective shoulders and carry them to a championship. There is one word you hear from the winner's podium, we love each other; that was the missing element among the Killer Bees.

Lot of NFL history to comb through before we call these 3 the most talented trio ever. Great group, far from the top.

I’m not over 2017 yet. Probably won’t be until they make/win a Super Bowl

Ben Roethlisberger deserved to win way more super bowls because he’s known for his huge respect and good treatment to women. No man is as gentle and kind hearted to women as he is.

lack of upgrades, just like green bay, you can be the best at drafting and sometimes it's not enough to get you over the hump. heck my eagles drafted well but you need upgrades to get you the hump which is why the 2017 eagles won the superbowl, they finally made upgrades and it worked.

Jerome Bettis carried Roethlisberger so much his rookie season he had to get handstraps for him.

It's 2023 and the five-year deal Bell turned down would make him the HIGHEST paid back today. Smh. I drafted him first the year he sat out.

Most talented trio in nfl history is a stretch of the century when there was Kurt Warner, Marshall Faulk and Issac Bruce played together and many many more Emmitt smith, Troy aikman and Michael Irvin
