From 84-96 the NFC was basically the SEC to the AFC’s PAC 12. Only 2 Super Bowls ended within one possession in that time frame with an average MOD of 38-19.
Yep, i was coming of age through the 80's and early 90's and have some vivid memories of CBS's NFC coverage with Summerall and Madden commentating the 49ers, Giants, Bears, Skins, and Cowboys seemingly every week. @@YMagoulo Broncos we’re the only Suoerbowl winner out of the AFC in the 90’s. Same with the Raiders in the 80’s and the Cowboys being the lone Superbowl champion in the 70’s.
@@chicagodude8888It is not a CLEAR and/or understandable one though, thanks to your lack of clarification. I mean, which team actually DID win a super bowl in all of those decades? You said there was one, and then proceeded to list multiple teams. If that was not enough, you then followed that up by saying that they did something other than the original achievement you mentioned. Slow down and take the time to make a cogent point so that you don’t embarrass yourself again.
Keeping in mind, they were playing against a lot of the best the NFL has ever seen in those 4 years during an NFC domination. 1990 Giants had a fierce defense in terms of scheming to stop you, and Bill Belichick was the ring leader of it(he was able to get a 5 year coaching gig with Cleveland as a result of this year). 1991 Redskins had one of the most efficient offenses in NFL history with an offensive line that saw Mark Rypien get sacked less times than he threw interceptions(7 sacks to 11 picks) as well as a really great defenses. One of the best teams of all-time. 1992 and 1993 Cowboys were a part of that 90s Dynasty, a true force on all facets with the scoring offense, the lack of turnover issues, and overall just sheer efficiency and well-builtness they had in a time when dynasties were all-but guaranteed to fall as a result of the cap hit after that year. Buffalo should have won 1 of these games, yes. But in the end they really faced against the best the NFL will ever see 4 straight years and tried their hardest to not let it deter them each time.
Correct. The Bills lost primarily because the best of the NFC was better than that of the AFC. The '90 NY Giants still had a great defense, but a very average offense (with no-name WRs), so this was the game the Bills should have won, but lost in a heartbreaker. There were some missed tackles and other missed opporunities that led to the loss, not just the missed field goal at the end. The '91 Redskins was the last great Redskins team, and they went against an overmatched Bills defense - I knew the Bills would lose this game. What was surprising is that the Bills high-powered offense was ineffective for most of the game. The '92 and '93 Cowboys were one of the greatest young teams in NFL history, they were fast, and the defensive line was very deep. And in the second half Emitt Smith was just running at will against the Bills light defensive line. It was tough to watch, but those last three losses were inevitable. The just simply lost to better, more physical teams.
I think the only Super Bowl the Bills were favored was the Giants Super Bowl. You’re correct about the Giants defense. They played the 49ers twice that year (MNF and NFC title game), lost the MNF game 7-3 (both teams were 10-1at the time), and won the title game 15-13. Thus, they allowed 20 points COMBINED against a 14-2 49ers team that I believe had the best opportunity to three-peat of any team history. Defense was that good.
Coming from a huge Buffalo bills fan, thank for this video. Bills mafia deals with so much pain. But we’ll always be here for our team. We love them no matter what and no one can take that feeling away

You gotta feel sorry for the Bills, after 3 in a row even their most loyal fans had to be in the mindset of "We'll believe in you when you actually DO it." Plus, I think 4 straight losses is not just a record in football, but ALL professional sports...
@@danielntumba5980 that's true but still a disappointment. going to the playoffs eight times. winning one out five, pretty much reserved then the nickname the bills of baseball. but they did get one. 😁
There was a quote in the X-Files by the "Cigarette Smoking Man" where he said "As long as I am alive, the Bills will never win a Super Bowl". I always thought that was a fun little quote...
Jim Kelley’s years in the USFL with the Houston Gamblers were truly remarkable. In fact, it was that Gambler team coached by Jack Pardee who started the Run and Shoot offense in pro football led by Mouse Davis, which was then copied by a very envious Houston Oilers, who by then were coached by,… Jack Pardee.

Bottom line: it’s already immensely difficult to get to a Superbowl, let alone win one. To the Bills Mafia: don’t hang your heads. There are still teams that still haven’t gone to the big dance yet.
Honestly I knew the part where the Bills lifted the no huddle from the Bengals but hearing that they went to the League calling it unfair and then stole the idea is quite scummy NGL
The reason he didn't blame Norwood was because he was known to be a team player if his team lost a game he would blame everyone in that team including himself so yeah
Definitely feel like this could be it's own multipart Saga just on the agony of the Bills, Part 1 is creation through 1986, this would be part 2, part 3 would be the abusive relationship of the 2000-2010s with the Patriots, and part 4 is Josh Allen and why the Bills still can't finish the deal.
You ever notice how Thurman Thomas took a handoff? I played 1 year of high school football and learned to never reach for the handoff. always make a pocket for the QB to stick the ball in. Good teams like the Cowboys and Redskins saw that and went right for the ball.
The NFC East and the 49ers were insanely stacked with the best coaches and systems in the NFL The teams were stacked with HOF coaches and players. And at the same time the AFC was really thin
Excellent video. As a Bills fan I appreciate it. It reminds me of what I've been through as a fan of the team. 4 straight Super Bowl losses, 17 years without a playoff appearance, seemingly wasting Josh Allen's best years. But I still believe that one of my children won't have to come to my gravestone to let me know the Bills finally won a Super Bowl like Red Sox fans did in 2004. I still billieve I will see it with my own eyes.

As a lifelong Bills fan, born after this legendary time, i have never met a true fan of this team that hates this time period. Everyone i've ever met just remembers the beautiful offense and dominance on defense. I think everyone is just really happy that the Bills have this long stretch of being the best team in the AFC like this. Anyways, Go Buffalo.
As a lifetime bills fan I was gonna ask you to do this and I’m glad you did. Well done and I thank you…you are very good at this and deserve more subscribers.
i was in highschool when these Superbowls happened. watching it firsthand, without internet was even more tragic than everyone sees it now. cos time was slower, so every year from 1989-1996 Jim Kelly and the Bills were in the spotlight. my own memories were this . #25 - Bill Beleichick's defense scheme was flawless. Bills never adapted (more on that later) to it in the 2nd half. Norwood missed, sure. but the team was cocky af. which was expected (especially after a 51-3 win in the AFCCG) but i wish Marv had reigned them in a bit. #26 - stupid stuff happened. Thurman lost his helmet, which paralysed him for the rest of the game. and they wanted to/needed to throw the ball all the time. which would be fine, if Jim Kelly didn't move his hands before the shotgun snap. MASSIVE tell to the Red*kin defense. that Washington team doesn't get enough love. they were a serious 14-2. #27 - people forget that they led 7-0 in the Superbowl, and Dallas didn't do a lot in the first quarter. then turnovers. and an offensive plan that didn't seem to be very different than the last 2 years. plus, injuires, plus the K-gun was exhausting to the o-line. by the end i was just suffering. Beebe's hustle, at the time, made me cry. #28 - a dodgy bit of video, filming the shuffle pass doomed them. but... dallas was the same as the year before. i guess this was why i was unhappy at halftime, despite the 13-6 lead. and once the Dallas O-Line took over. after the first 3 runs i turned to my Dad and said "We're in trouble.." But, the Buffalo offense COLLAPSED. look at the sideline now, every player wants out of that building after the Thurman fumble. even the coaches. it was a time that gave me a fukload of cynicism in my life. that and the 20 year Tom Brady regime. Still my favorite players, though. Especially Jim Kelly.
I'll never forget how happy I was when the Broncos beat the Packers and ended that horrible streak of NFC Super Bowl wins, because I was a Bills fan and they were responsible for a large portion of that streak. Being a Bills fan is tough. Even now.
Yeah, being a bills fan is tough but they always have a good team. They make the playoffs regularly and they have never moved away. They also have renowned fans. People respect bills fans more than they respect other teams fans. I am a Raider fan, yes we got Super Bowls but our team moves away from us. We get laughed at and attacked by other fans all the time. Our team is always in turmoil and now we barely make the playoffs anymore. Which would you rather have?
The fact the Bills in SB 25 only had the ball for 19 minutes and the only reason they lost was a missed FG speaks to how great that team was. Norwood's miss is the reason it snowballed

I was a kid during this time and the NFC champ game was seen as the "real Super Bowl." If you look at the list of Super Bowl champs, the AFC had long stretches of not winning a SB , lose 6 win 1 and then lose 4 more etc. and the NFC was seen as the much better conference. It was maybe Elway's back to back SB wins that finally ended this perception.
Just found your channel recently and I just gotta say, you do a fantastic job. Been watching a bunch of your stuff, and I can tell that a lot of work goes into making these videos. Definitely hitting that sub 🤘
Why the bills lost 1990-1993: 1990: Could easily be stopped if the offense didn't get the ball for long, which is what happened to them in the Super Bowl 1991: very easy schedule, turnovers, bruce smith's injury, and a lack of a run defense, And also the fact that the 91 redskins destroyed everyone 1992: so-so wins, bad losses, jim kelly leading the league in picks, late season injuries, and also facing a loaded cowboys team 1993: bailed out by luck many times, somewhat overrated offense, and defense was...kinda there, and also, the cowboys were loaded as hell
In 1990, they were down 21-9 to Denver with about 7:00 left, and they had a miracle blocked FG return that may have saved that team's legacy. They came back to beat Denver, and they pulled out fourth quarter comebacks the next two weeks as well (against the Raiders and Jets). If they lose those games, they are 2-4 instead of 5-1, and the bad vibes and the "Bickering Bills" may have come back. You are right about 91, and 92 was really pathetic. The Oilers just completely choked in that WC game, and the Dolphins only ran the ball 11 times in the AFC Title Game.
I went to college near Buffalo at this time. Even though it was heart breaking and inconceivable to lose 4 straight SB. I mostly remember the good feelings of those great players. It was interesting to hear your recap because I have long forgotten the details surrounding that run.
Only one team from each conference won a superbowl in each of the first 4 decades of the superbowl era until the 2000’s. Packers of the 60’s, Cowboys in the 70’s, Raiders in the 80’s and Broncos in the 90’s. Fun fact.
Never knew the Bruce Smith letters story. Thanks for this video, I learn something new from your videos every time. Also, from a Bears fan, sorry you Bills fans never won one. Just so horrific.
@@jlillerJoe Gibbs was that great a coach. He stepped down after the following season (92) and the franchise hasn't recovered. Their best stretch since was when he came out of retirement in the mid 00s.
I remember going over to my friends house. He knew nothing about football but his live in girlfriend was from upstate New York. I noticed she was wearing red and blue sweat pants. "You a Bill's fan?" I asked. "Yeah." she responded. "Scott Norwood wide right." She gave me a double middle finger salute.
Jim Kelly partied a lot, I have been told by many people who actually got to watch him play and be around the city that he constantly was out at his bar and was always hungover for sundays
This was a great team to get to the Super Bowl 4 times in a row. But man, losing them all is just so unfortunate. But the big problem was IMO, the difference between the NFC & AFC. The 1980s and 1990s were basically NFC teams being Super Bowl Champions. It took the 1998 Denver Broncos to put a stop to that. The Buffalo Bills' run was right in the middle of the NFC at their peak. NY Giants, Washington Redskins were powerful. The Bills also ran into what is IMO, the Dallas Cowboys at the peak of their franchise history. The Cowboys were young, stacked with talent in both sides of the ball, and they had a defensive minded, heavy disciplinarian coach in Jimmy Johnson keeping them focused. The NFC was a bloodbath for like 20 years, and just simply better at the time. Whatever team came out of the NFC to go to the Super Bowl was going to be nuts.
Our buffalo history gets even sadder when you look further into the 90's.... We had every Major League team make a championship appearance. The Bill's would lose the 4 consecutive Superbowls. The Sabre's would lose our second and last (as of now) Stanley cup appearance. The only highlight we had is we got a brand new lacrosse team called the Buffalo Bandits, that would be the only championship wins in that decade. Meaning we ended the season: 3-7 for championships in that decade along. Pretty fucking depressing if you ask me.
@@michaelkkrasting Eh. You ain't gotta feel to bad. At least you gotta a Superbowl title. And for our second Bandits championship was a perfect season. So at least buffalo has a perfect season in our town!
@@lovinglife8854 I mean that's quite the feat regardless of sport! And sure we have the SB, but sadly we never seem to repeat our successes, we are a one and done city, seems that way for every sport round here🤣
I mean it's a goddamn shame for the Bills to be perfectly honest. But they straight the hell up EARNED going to those SB's. The AFC being soft or not, no one else stepped up to stop them, so what were they supposed to do? Just not win when they could? They were sadly just not as good as the NFC teams of that era. Some of the biggest juggernauts to ever grace the field, who on each of those days just got the better of them when it counted. 4 SB's in a row, win or lose is EASILY something to be proud of accomplishing. Also Jim Kelly on cameo, what a goddamn legend
Hey TubFrog, you missed a Key Point on the 4th Super Bowl 1st Half Bills outscoring Cowboys; Troy Aikman was still suffering from the effects of the Concussion he sustained in the NFC Championship Game vs 49ers, also that for the 1st & only Time the NFL decided to have only a 1 Week Break between the Conference Championships & the Super Bowl! If Aikman had an extra week to Rest & Recover, he would have Carved Up the Bills by Half Time!
It sucks because they were soooo close to winning the first one and I really think that was the only Super Bowl where they were definitely better than their opponent they just came up short. Or wide I guess…
This is the time when the NFC East was the most powerful division in all of football. At one time, 4 teams from the NFC East had winning records and 1990 The Wild Card game was NFC East teams. 1990 had AFC had some strength but the NFC East was to dominate with 3 teams to enter the playoffs, Giants, Eagles and the Skins. 1991 had the NFC with the dominance because use the wild card teams had 2 teams with 11-5 records and the other 2 teams have 10-6 records and a third team had 10-6. 1992 had similar NFC dominance with NFC East having 3 teams with winning records. 1993 had the AFC catching up NFC East had only the Cowboys and Giants with good records. 1994 became about even with NFC and AFC. NFC had 4 9-7 teams to challenge for the Wildcard whereas AFC had Wildcard teams with 11-5 and 10-6. The Bills lost all 4 Super Bowls to an NFC East Team. Ace Ventura mocked the poor Bills 1991 Super Bowl kicker...
I watched this happen, it was as a teen when I was really getting into football more than just rooting for a team. This was during the time (rest of the Gen Xers here will know) Tecmo Super Bowl was it. And they were a good team on that game. Unfortunately all of the NFC E was better, especially Dallas. The disparity between the NFC and AFC was there for a number of years that ran through the Bills era.
To say the Bills are the Vikings of the AFC is an understatement. Both lost 4 Super Bowls during one particular decade. Both had to deal with divisional juggernauts in the Packers and the Patriots And on top of that, no rings and countless heartbreaks
Another simularity they share is that both of these teams haven't even made it past their respective conference championships since the turn of the millennium
Ill never forget the interviews of bills fans at the local bar, they were all " fourth times a charm.....this time, the superbowl ours to win".. Everyone was happy and upbeat.....then the same interviewer went into that same bar and no word of lie, GROWN MEN AND WOMEN WERE CRYING. The Bills are known for losing 4 straight superbowls......and Flutie Flakes
PAIN!!!!!!! I wasn't alive for any of those losses, I was born just after the last one to the cowboys. But it still hurts, thinking about all the great players on those teams that didn't get to put on a ring. F*CK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Shoutout to Jim Kelly for taking the time to give you a nice video reply! I'm sure he's talked about this ad nauseum but is still a great sport about it.
Keep in mind though that the Bills Defense in both '91 and '93 was Ranked next-to-last (27th out of 28 teams) using OFFICIAL NFL Rankings. Granted, their Points Allowed Ranking was better than that, but that OFFICIAL Ranking is still very bad. I give Kelly extra credit for winning Conf. Championships in '91 and '93 with a Defense that is Ranked that low.
There was Football, before the SuperbBowl. If this team won four league championships, in a row, they would legendary Winners, so that's how I choose to look at them. Buffalo, in Hockey and Football, do deserve better! Someday, irt will happen!! Cheers from Canada
Awesome you did this review. Would love to see you do the Warren Moon led Houston Oilers. Which, imo, was the best early 1990s team to never get to a Super Bowl.
I loved these Bills!!!! They would draft lots of small college guys and lots of them worked out. Bill Polian was at his peak, I'm not sure what went wrong in the Super Bowls, they really were really good during the season and the playoffs.
The thing is, the early 90s Bills were good, but not Super Bowl good. The AFC during that era was simply abysmal, at least when compared to the NFC. John Elway's Broncos also came pretty close three times in the late 80s, but they were only able to get a ring a decade later.
As a former gen X kid, The Bills 4-year Super Bowl run is significant to me because it was when I became aware of the Super Bowl. I remember watching the games with my dad. I didn't know much about football other than a touchdown being the objective. The tragedy that took place completely went over my head. Decades later I learned that those 4 years were the tragic tale of the Buffalo Bills. They had a chance to be the first team in NFL history to become 4-peat champions. Instead, they set the less favorable record of being the first team in NFL history to lose 4 consecutive Super Bowls. If I was Jim Kelly, I'd be crying in bed every night.
To be fair, the reason it happened was the AFC was so weak and the NFC was so strong. 1990 was the only year in which the AFC might have been a bit better. But 91, 92, and 93 the AFC was trash and the NFC were Monsters. Usually I dont use Pro Football References Simple Rating System, but it does show how weak the AFC was and how strong the NFC was in the 91, 92 and 93 season. The 90 Raiders team was very good. Jay Schroeder was a pro bowler that year. Also in the first matchup the Raiders Dominated the Bills in Buffalo unfortunately 2 late turnovers turned the tide. I admit in the playoffs the Raiders never showed up, however they were talented & an good team!
I don't know if it was intentional to make for a better story, but that whole "NFL said the Bengals can't use the No-Huddle" thing ended with the NFL reversing its opinion... BEFORE that playoff game even started. So ultimately it had no effect on that game. Also, as you said, that was the 1988 AFCCG. The Bills no huddle "K-Gun" came 2 years later. Edit: Just re-read the comment, and wasn't trying to sound harsh 😅 Great video overall. It's a shame these guys never got a ring. People talk about cursed franchises, but always leave out the Bills. A decade straight with 0 wins to the Dolphins, followed by 4 straight SB losses, then the Music City "Miracle," then nearly 2 decade playoff drought, and now continually running into an all time great Chiefs squad in the playoffs x 2 and the Bengals last year. They just can't catch a break 😢
As an Eagles fan I know how Buffalo feels, I had to live threw Donavan McNabb go to Four NFC Championship games before finally winning one, then going to the Superbowl and throwing up on the field figuratively and literally!!
Very very well said!
Imo their best shot to win at least 2 was 1990 and 1993
It's a conspiracy. lol. The powers that be didn't want them to get one.
Coming from a huge Buffalo bills fan, thank for this video. Bills mafia deals with so much pain. But we’ll always be here for our team. We love them no matter what and no one can take that feeling away
For anybody who doesn’t understand why Jim kelly sounds odd, he has had health problems his whole life and developed cancer in his mouth, his tongue was cut off and he had surgery removing parts of his leg bones to rebuild his jaw
Thought it was CTE.
You gotta feel sorry for the Bills, after 3 in a row even their most loyal fans had to be in the mindset of "We'll believe in you when you actually DO it."
Plus, I think 4 straight losses is not just a record in football, but ALL professional sports...
Nah lmao fuck the bills. Live in poverty for another half century

Pretty damn awesome you able to get Jim Kelley in the video, especially with how honest he was on those teams
I met Jim as a kid . He was a gentle giant man a real nice guy I met hit at a park in south jersey and got to play catch with him. My dad was stoked about it even though we're a eagle's family lol
You earned a sub when you called Belichick a Sith Lord ROFL!!
Well done Sir, and from this now 36 year old man who watched his Cowboys defeat those Bills 2 years in a row as I watched those Super Bowls next to my Dad, all I can say is you helped create some of the greatest childhood memories that I still carry with me to this day, so thank you.
Dude having Jim Kelly come in and give an answer is incredible. Kelly is a class act!
Geez, I just looked it up. Half decade long battle with jaw cancer. Blessings and prayers to Jim and his family
Bottom line: it’s already immensely difficult to get to a Superbowl, let alone win one. To the Bills Mafia: don’t hang your heads. There are still teams that still haven’t gone to the big dance yet.
Yep
The AFC’s
Browns
Texans
Jags
And The NFC’s Lions
Honestly I knew the part where the Bills lifted the no huddle from the Bengals but hearing that they went to the League calling it unfair and then stole the idea is quite scummy NGL
Bills just always seem to get rule changes after complaining😂
You're shocked? The BiLLLLs have always been this way when they horrendously choke due to their own incompetent coaching
They cursed themselves by doing that
Jim Kelly seems like a great guy from that interview. I’m glad he didn’t pin it all on Norwood
The reason he didn't blame Norwood was because he was known to be a team player if his team lost a game he would blame everyone in that team including himself so yeah
Definitely feel like this could be it's own multipart Saga just on the agony of the Bills, Part 1 is creation through 1986, this would be part 2, part 3 would be the abusive relationship of the 2000-2010s with the Patriots, and part 4 is Josh Allen and why the Bills still can't finish the deal.
too many good afc teams dat want a playoff spot
Secret Base would be up to the case
You ever notice how Thurman Thomas took a handoff? I played 1 year of high school football and learned to never reach for the handoff. always make a pocket for the QB to stick the ball in. Good teams like the Cowboys and Redskins saw that and went right for the ball.
The NFC East and the 49ers were insanely stacked with the best coaches and systems in the NFL
The teams were stacked with HOF coaches and players.
Bills fans: we will always BILL-IEVE!!! And no one can tailgate like us, Kuz! Circling the wagons once again in 2023! Cheeee!!! Let's go, Buffalo -- Let's GO!
Still so glad they’re in the playoffs
@@benhutchinson8020 oof, that's a tough one. I hope you guys can get it done next year, my Giants are going nowhere fast so I would very much enjoy a Bills superbowl win.
It wad Cancer Man from X-Files! " The Buffalo Bills will never win a Championship ad long as I'm in charge!" He must still be in charge!
Marv’s poem has helped me through many difficult times. Bills always rise and fight again!
The 1990 Bills team was one of the best I’ve ever seen. They had a defense and for the time one of the most high powered offenses I had seen.
have a feeling this is gonna hit the algorithm hard, never seen a vid from your channel and five min after uploading i get it recommended and honestly it’s a fire video so nice job

The NFC won a dozen straight until Elway and the Broncos ended it over Favre and the Packers in 1998.
as a Favre and packet fan that hurt
Nothing makes my constant road trips better than a tub frog post
The reason Buffalo lost four straight Super Bowl games? The NFC East in the early 90s.
Its so weird for most because of the afc east being so much better for so long, that its unbelievable

Did Buffalo lose or was it just that Washington and Dallas won?
@@brianarbenz1329Yeah, Giants too.
@@PeterAnderson-z4y Of course that game was down to the wire and bad luck. Wash and Dallas just plain outplayed the Bills.
Just found your channel recently and I just gotta say, you do a fantastic job. Been watching a bunch of your stuff, and I can tell that a lot of work goes into making these videos. Definitely hitting that sub 🤘
Why the bills lost 1990-1993:
1990: Could easily be stopped if the offense didn't get the ball for long, which is what happened to them in the Super Bowl
1991: very easy schedule, turnovers, bruce smith's injury, and a lack of a run defense, And also the fact that the 91 redskins destroyed everyone
1992: so-so wins, bad losses, jim kelly leading the league in picks, late season injuries, and also facing a loaded cowboys team
1993: bailed out by luck many times, somewhat overrated offense, and defense was...kinda there, and also, the cowboys were loaded as hell
These were my high school years and I remember these years very well. You absolutely nailed all the details very well done
Shout out to you TubFrog! Highly underrated!!!!!
The Redskins in 91 was probably one of the best teams to ever take the field in NFL history
That 91 Washington team was one of, if not the best team ever.
And even more remarkably, just two years later it was one of the worst teams in the league.
@@jliller Its the redskins way!🤣
@@jlillerJoe Gibbs was that great a coach. He stepped down after the following season (92) and the franchise hasn't recovered. Their best stretch since was when he came out of retirement in the mid 00s.

Jim Kelly partied a lot, I have been told by many people who actually got to watch him play and be around the city that he constantly was out at his bar and was always hungover for sundays
I literally wait for your videos to upload at this point. Such great research and content. Keep it up buddy 👍
Amazing you got Jim Kelly there. One of the all time greats.
These long form vids are great please keep them coming
As an eagles fan, going over this story so many times from different channels it absolutely breaks my heart this team could not get it done
@@lovinglife8854 yeah I’m really sorry man, the struggle is real
@@michaelkkrasting Eh. You ain't gotta feel to bad. At least you gotta a Superbowl title. And for our second Bandits championship was a perfect season. So at least buffalo has a perfect season in our town!

That Jim Kelly segment was phenomenal. It is mind blowing you don't have over a million subs
The NFC East was truly elite back then
Yes eagles also had a great team as well that rarely get mentioned
I mean it's a goddamn shame for the Bills to be perfectly honest. But they straight the hell up EARNED going to those SB's. The AFC being soft or not, no one else stepped up to stop them, so what were they supposed to do? Just not win when they could? They were sadly just not as good as the NFC teams of that era. Some of the biggest juggernauts to ever grace the field, who on each of those days just got the better of them when it counted. 4 SB's in a row, win or lose is EASILY something to be proud of accomplishing.
Also Jim Kelly on cameo, what a goddamn legend

How the Bills lost four straight super bowls: they lost 😔
I was JUST wondering today if you'd cover this LOL, cheers dude!
Mad respect to Jim Kelly responding to you so kindly!
That jim kelly cameo at the end is awesome total stud
That’s so dope that u got in touch with Jim Kelly, and that’s cool of him to not have put blame on anyone
How cool is Jim Kelly for doing this interview
52 points wasn't a Super Bowl record-- the 49ers had scored 55 a few years prior when they annihilated the Broncos.
To say the Bills are the Vikings of the AFC is an understatement.
Both lost 4 Super Bowls during one particular decade.
Both had to deal with divisional juggernauts in the Packers and the Patriots
And on top of that, no rings and countless heartbreaks
Another simularity they share is that both of these teams haven't even made it past their respective conference championships since the turn of the millennium
Were the Packers really a "juggernaut" in the 70's though?
Why were you guys racist to Bruce smith
Damn good journalism by tubfrog using cameo to get Jim Kelly in a video
The reason why every team always punted on 4th and short was because there was no two point conversion in the NFL. It didn’t come about until 1994.
Video idea: why the Cleveland browns carousel of qbs have all failed
Shoutout to Jim Kelly for taking the time to give you a nice video reply! I'm sure he's talked about this ad nauseum but is still a great sport about it.
Keep in mind though that the Bills Defense in both '91 and '93 was Ranked next-to-last (27th out of 28 teams) using OFFICIAL NFL Rankings. Granted, their Points Allowed Ranking was better than that, but that OFFICIAL Ranking is still very bad. I give Kelly extra credit for winning Conf. Championships in '91 and '93 with a Defense that is Ranked that low.

Awesome you did this review. Would love to see you do the Warren Moon led Houston Oilers. Which, imo, was the best early 1990s team to never get to a Super Bowl.
Yes sir oilers were the best team to never make it.
It’s probably been said a million times.
Was not ready for Jim Kelly to show up, and it is welcomed.
I loved these Bills!!!! They would draft lots of small college guys and lots of them worked out. Bill Polian was at his peak, I'm not sure what went wrong in the Super Bowls, they really were really good during the season and the playoffs.
Simply put, the Bills were outcoached in all four Superbowl loses.

When the early 90s Oilers are your competition you are going to Super Bowls. Bills would have lost to the 2nd and maybe even 3rd best team from the NFC in 91, 92, and 93.
that ending was great man!
Edit: Just re-read the comment, and wasn't trying to sound harsh 😅
Great video overall.
The 91' Redskins were something else.. The had no chance in that one. Or the first Cowboys game after.
As an Eagles fan I know how Buffalo feels, I had to live threw Donavan McNabb go to Four NFC Championship games before finally winning one, then going to the Superbowl and throwing up on the field figuratively and literally!!
Eagles lost two Superbowls before getting that one against New England who had beat us, that one with the backup quarterback was magical to say the least, and when Buffalo win’s theirs I’ll be routing for them all the way…
