When you look at the Bale goal vs Liverpool or the Ronaldo goal vs Juve in comparison, as they are both insane goals, this one really stands out to me because it has never really been replicated. And one of the greatest goals in history.
Not only because of its beauty and dirficulty, but because of context.
Sure, you can find more beautiful, more difficult, more impressive.
But at that stage?
Can’t think of any other.
The simple fact that this goal was a winning goal in a Champions League finals, add to that the weak foot and all.
It takes it all in my humble opinion.
Perhaps Zidane’s Panenka, in his last game ever, World Cup final, against Buffon, best goalkeeper in the world at the time, double bar, without touching the net, watched by probably a billion people, that would be a goot match.
When you mix context with beauty and difficulty… I think these two goals are some of the greatest ever scored.
