She is so beautiful that she could have "rested on her laurels" simply for only her beauty. I admire her greatly for the hard work and dedication which it must surely have taken to acquire the musical talent with which she now complements her physical beauty.
For me and many music lovers in Russia, Elinu Garancha was discovered by Dmitry Hvorostovsky. She is equal to him Talent, but above all she is his friend)))) They came to the world to give pleasure to Music!
I have to agree with Peter Grant. For me, she stands head & shoulders above the rest. Her singing is indescribably beautiful. Heaven must be missing an Angel.
@classicalgalNYC Definitely. We really don't know how her career will change, but for now, IMHO, she can do no wrong: the godgiven voice, the shadings, the rapport with the public, the repertoire, the technique. AND she's hot, too.
@Gobbi2007 One of the arias that I listened to was 'Una Voce Poco Fa' and I even liked Garanca better than Didonato in it, although Garanca was not nearly as good as she could be now in that same aria.

I don't know why these other comments are made. She is so unable to do proper bel canto aria. To start with, the vowels are not connected. Not to say, every thing she sings sounds the same. I think she has a problem sending her air to the correct space in her head. She needs to improve her bel Canto technique to say the least. The only wonderful thing about her is that she is a beautiful lady.
I disagree with most people here. She has a nice voice but top class like that conductor said here (who knows who the hell he is?). Sorry but to me there are better mezzos. Though, a nice voice.
Notice he hasn't given any other opinions about her voice in the last three years which is good for him. "Nice voice" really??? I'm not afraid to say she is the world #1 Mezzo which she was even when Bartoli was still singing.

@Gobbi2007 I just listened to some performances by Didonato. I have to say - so far I don't like her singing style at all. Too much "ornamentation", too much "embellishment" for my taste. To me it sounds funny at best, and almost ridiculous at worst. Definitely not beautiful. I thought that maybe it's just the music that is not to my taste, but I listened to some other singers singing the same music, and liked at least some of them much better.
I am presently listening to the entire bel canto CD on my headphones. I deeply regret having spent the money. I really, really, really tried to like her. Beautiful singing, sure, but there is no frisson, no tension, no transporting with ravishing sound, no astonishing coloratura, no great story telling, no daring ornamentation, no great individuality. In summary: disappointing. Her looks are hot; the singing is not.
Да ниччо, голосистая майориха. И по аглицки смотри как шпрехает чистенько.. Немного говна в речь и можно на границу с Мексикой засылать на плантацию. Рекомендую.

She has an impecable technique and a beautiful voice but unfortunately no matter what she sings it always sounds the same

take off her microphone, you wont hear a thing. She doesnt have that core in her voice as compared to the great singers of the past
