I had the extreme good fortune to go to the first night of I Capuleti at Covent Garden 8 days ago - Elina Garanca's performance was dazzling, and her singing and acting as Romeo were beyond praise. Anna Netrebko was also superb. Truly a magical night at the opera!

Elina is a musical genius. Do you know how many singers wish they could get this sound? They could try for years and never match her heavenly, full tone. Her mother was a vocal teacher and Elina must have gotten some deep insights early in her childhood about producing a great vocal tone. She is astonishingly good even today. And, I have to add, more beautiful than ever!
