Gorgeous, informative interview
Elīna Garanča is a very smart lady, she won't permit unscrupulous agents and managers to steer her towards early burnout.
She is spectacular in the Met's "Roberto Devereaux" streaming in HD. An extraordinary mezzo voice/technique with amazing acting abilities, subtle, natural facial/hand/body gestures that are completely relatable and believable, a rare combination of talents.
I saw that production on Met On Demand. Very interesting. Yes she is always the best actress on the stage.
What an intelligent person. What a wonderful mastery of English and German. I think could have been a great success in many different fields.
Thank you for sharing Suzanna !

Super rozhovor!
Fascinating interview.
Love it! Thanks for sharing!
That’s why I travel to see her preform live, her voice is exceptional!
this is so useful......it's sad that none of my teachers ever told me that......
THE MET---------2010---------ELINA GARANCA IS FOREVER, CARMEN. FOREVER !
As a kid we would wear a cooking pot on our heads and train our voice. When she speaks, she still speaks with her opera voice. As a pianist, I did not take my singing lessons seriously, so I ended up quitting, because my main preference was piano.
It also helps that her native Latvian is a ringing and melodious language with long vowels, ideal for singing 🙂
I don't listen to soprano at all but this was a very interesting and informative introspection. thank you
She's a mezzosoprano, not a soprano 😊
Her voice GOODBYE 😍
She/He is dangerous.
There have been singers who sang both bel canto and Wagnerian roles. Lilli Lehmann, Callas, Caballé...
all of these three sopranos started with Belcanto technique, so like she said they can also sing Verdi and Wagner, but if you start with Wagner to sing belcanto will be difficult
@@antonioalhais8150 I know. I am a soprano.
Yes and carried on singing for life in many cases. An opera singer's career was not short lived then because the training was so much better.
