    Join me on an epic adventure in the low sec system as I embark on Day 1 with a brand new character, armed with zero skills and some skill injectors. Right from day one, those locals didn't give me a warm welcome. The local heroes were far from pleased with my arrival.They started off by hurling insults, talking trash, and even threatening me, but guess what? They failed miserably! Just a bunch of empty threats.
    My #Day 12 as a new toon.
    First of all: THX for all of your ISK donations. LOve you all. Dont need it but will use it for some more skill injectiors ! I've juiced up my skills a bit with skill injectors, but I'm still low-skilled in all areas. Gotta say, after the first 12 days, playing solo against the whole crew is way better than teaming up against one. Sure, it might lead to more ship losses, but who gives a damn?
    In this video, I'll show you the fitting of my PvP ship that use for hunting in low sec. You'll also learn how to navigate through low sec like a pro, without getting catched and effortlessly passing through almost any gate camp. And trust me, at the end of the video, there's gonna be a crazy chat with the low sec red - pirats that'll leave you shaking your head in disbelief.

    (pro tip) Here, I'm referring to you saying that, after you exit a warp gate, you prefer to warp to bookmarks to which you are already aligned. 5:13, 6:20 You aren't, however, aligned to anything. You would warp to a bookmark directly behind your ship model, just as fast as the one in front of it due to your velocity being zero.
    Alignment does not matter when at zero velocity, only align time. Don't feel bad if you didn't know this. This is an incorrect assumption that most people make. I have heard it repeated countless times. This incorrect thinking comes from fleet experience where, the people who didn't "align", get left behind during fleet warp after exiting a gate. This, however, is due to some fleet members, after a gate jump, having better velocity than stationary fleet members at time of warp, not better alignment. This thinking also stems from people confusing the ship model with what Eve calculates as your ship. In Eve, your ship is only a point (and arrow, if you are moving). When warping from zero velocity, the arrow stretches out from the point of your ship directly toward your warp direction, any direction, in a set amount of time (align time) when; no velocity is present and no slowing-down or change in direction is required. The ship model is not calculated in this. It is only visual. The arrow can stretch in any direction with no difference in align time, when at zero velocity. There is no vector (arrow) at zero velocity. Eve calculates your ship as a point. The position of your ship model in this zero-velocity state is arbitrary. One way to easily see this disconnect between ship model and the ships positional calculation is to observe how your ship model enters warp at the wrong angle compared to the vector of the warp.
    I would love for someone to make a side by side video of warping strait and warping "backwards" after gate jumping. (hint hint)
    Love your vids. I've learned a lot. Keep it up.

      It can be easily observed in titans. They warp sideways very often unless they are already aligned in the warp direction.

      Ah, I went to the comments hoping someone corrected this.
      Ship “alignment” at 0 m/s is meaningless. Stationary ships always take the full align time.

    Ive read that after a gate jump even if you see your ship heading in any direction it is false and it will take the same time to initiate warp even if you were heading in totally opposite direction your ship was facing. But leaving a station was true because your ship is already moving towards a direction.
    Even after moving for a while i.e after completing an anomaly and you are full stop (0m/h) if you were aligning exactly to something it will take again 100% the time of your align time.
    I thought it work like that and I have not tested it myself but I took it for grant and I have always used under 2sec align ships or cov cloack ships in dangerous areas.
    I will try it today myself.
    Good video :)

    • @justinwilliams9377
      @justinwilliams9377 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      This is correct - orientation of the ship at 0 velocity does not matter for warping. That's why your time to warp is noted in the fitting window. That's simply the time it takes for your ship to warp no matter what way it's facing. There used to be a phrase "Cold Align" that people would say back in the day (and who knows, maybe even still) where you would face your ship and then come to a stop. It was proven to not matter so I don't think it's as common. As an example, capitals/freighters commonly warp sideways since they don't turn in time, but it doesn't matter.

    • @greybill
      @greybill 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I want to second this.
      The key factor for how long it takes to get into warp is the current vector of velocity. Undocking from a station sets the ship at speed instantly and therefore makes it possible to instantly warp to a bookmark within that vector.
      But after a jump through a gate, the ship is at a standstill. It will take the same time to warp in any direction. The orientation of the ship-model is just graphics.
      That's also why bigger ships like freighters and capitals often "drift" into warp: the animation of the ship turning is set slow, so it looks and feels like a big ship, but the math does not care for graphics and hurls the ship off sideways.

    ever wondered what's inside camera good for (Alt+1)? If you guess it's to use wsad to manualy fly your ship, you are wrong, obviously. Use it to make undocking bookmarks. Dock with camera already changed to inside pov. You will notice your ship starts to deviate in first 1-2s after undocking from ideal path (invisible center line) so try to mitigate this by clicking to the point it was aligned to at the first moment. Time to burn that +150km and you have nearly perfect insta-undock. Nearly perfect because it only works best in that 1s after undocking cos of that randomness of your ship's aligment afterwards. It can be as little as 1degree, but can be as much as 15. If you make bookmark 15degree off center line you might find yourself undocking another 15degree in opposite direction in future. It may change nothing one day, it may save your ship the next day. And the slower your ship is (inertia/agility) the more you can feel it. And 2nd use of that camera is for bumping. Good content, keep it up!

  • @ownageDan
    @ownageDan ปีที่แล้ว +16

    alignment does not matter when you're stationary, only when you're moving. the way your ship is "facing" when stationary is purely cosmetic, as eve is calculating stuff using velocity vectors.

      @@ThisisAmi-Eveonline-xi8fb When you exit a gate, your speed is 0 in all direction. Pings are useful when exiting a station, often called "insta-undocks" since you don't start at 0 speed when exiting a station. Pings serve little purpose for exiting gates, however you could make a ping on grid a few hundred kilometers from the gate, to potentially avoid getting caught by taclers (if they gank you, one can tacle you, you jump trough and the other one follows you, then you're dead, so this allows you to "perch" and see who's here)

    Hey Ami. When you have no insta-dock for a station, warp to 100 to the station. Better from a celestial than from a gate, because people might be waiting there. Look at the sentry turrets. Sentry turrets in lowsec are usually located above or below. Mwd up or down until you can warp to the opposite sentry. While moving, set the station as autopiloting destination. Warp to 50 or 70 to the opposing sentry, which will land you inside the docking radius. In warp, activate the autopilot. You will land and insta-dock automatically. In case the station is a kick-out station (are those still a thing?) and you can not create a bookmark within 0km after undocking, create the insta-docking bookmark just before you land and auto-dock.

    Align time is the exact same in any direction after you jump into a system. You don't have to warp to the bookmark in your field of view. This has been proven for many years. Also, if you are going to make these bookmarks and stop to save them when you move to the next one, you will be scanned down and probably die a horrible death when you come back to system.

Even if you have 2 second align time you would be catched with proper server tick roll. So never enter gate camped lowsecs in solo ships if you carrying expensive stuff in ship cargo bay

    These are a lot of good tips for the newbies! Or those looking to get into low sec life.
    I've spent most of my time in low, and definitely gotten the large share of my kills there. I love it because no bubbles. You tend to find more skill in low than null, which can make things a bit harder. Very rewarding though, except for the rep hits haha. I always hung out in the bleak lands though.
    That is a pretty sick solo pvp fit. I love the sensor damp counter to lock your enemy out. I tend to favor a 8k ehp autocannon thrasher. I've gotten some crazy kills with. People never expect you to dump 350dps on them. Beam Confessor was really fun too, before they nerfed it into the ground...

      A good low sec location is always the one close to one of the 3 trade hubs. For example, Ami is only 3 jumps away from Amarr and has many more low sec systems beyond it. Tama is also like that, but Tama is definitely too crowded. As an individual, you hardly stand a chance there.It takes a few days to figure out who plays together here. You can also check the number of kills in the last hour using the map (F10), which is always a good indicator. Anyway, for me, two important factors are: 1) Traffic and 2) How many jumps to the next trade hub.

    • @RayHorn5128088056
      @RayHorn5128088056 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You're safe warping to the gate most in line with your arrival point, then make a "safe spot" on the way to warping to 100 km, then warp to the next gate and repeat. Safe still, make sure your "safe spots" are less than 14 AU from the next gate so you can D-Scan to see if anyone is on the gate before arrival. Always make sure you make a "safe spot" 15 AU from any Celestials, but keep in mind those who scan will likely do the same thing, so no spots are safe unless you are clocked 14 AU from the nearest Celestials. I like your videos. Good survival tips. I like your PVP ship with those three dampeners, as it highlights the importance of using signal boosters.

    Your technique of making bookmarks based on where your ship is pointing does not work. Align time in Eve is not connected to the direction your ship model is pointing. When you warp out a titan, it will often warp sideways because of this rule. Only your velocity and acceleration are taken into account. If you push warp, the amount of time is the same: The time it takes your ship to accelerate to 75% maximum velocity without a prop mod activated. If your align time is greater than 10 secs, you can reduce this time by cycling an MWD of the correct size one time, and you will warp after it completes its cycle. This does not work with afterburners. So, when you exit the gate, no matter where you are pointed, warp time to all of your bookmarks will be exactly the same if they are all the same distance.

    At 2:22, your ships is an *Ares* correct? How do you get a 1.915 align time with just two Inertia Stabilizer IIs? Are you using implants? Or is there a skill I've overlooked? Using two stabs, I have a 2.03s align time and need three for sub 2 (1.80s).
