We used to watch Laugh-In every week. The cast was marvelous. Ringo is beautiful here isn’t he?
Yes
When you list all the things he has contributed to over the decades, you see he was more than just a drummer.
I saw this when it originally aired in 1970. In those days we were thrilled to see any of The Beatles guesting on TV. No VCR's..sometimes no re-runs...if you missed it, you missed it.
That's awesome
Oh coarse you could wait 53 years and watch it on a computer.
Prior to their breakup the group's hair had reached shoulder length. The USA, as well as the rest of the world, had come along way since '64 with The Beatles leading society culturally. Not one joke about "hair" as opposed to the thinly veiled hostile presser held after the lads had de-planed at JFK just a bit more than six years earlier.
As much of a fan as I am, I certainly missed it, or somehow just don't remember it, considering I watched Laugh-In all the time with my parents. This is classic!
@@MaxStax1 😂 🤣 😅
😂 Ringo being Ringo.
"Have you ever been busted?" That was a good one, lol.
all wrong of a skit even then. woman or man not supposed to be "that" until marriage or at least their biz for other reasons. then the woman in a violent action assaulting someone is wrong.
@@jrnumex9286
You need to lay off the drugs.
@@jrnumex9286 Oh, get a grip! It’s only a silly skit.
@@jrnumex9286they were just acting it wasnt real
I didn't expect that one..lol
This is absolute gold, Ringo is awesome!
Ringo is so cute. He's my favorite Beatle. I was lucky enough to see him in concert last year!
I was and still am a major John Lennon fan, but Ringo is still a cutie!
He's a natural 😂
"All ya gotta do is - act naturally!"
Ringo is a treasure!
I am of the age where I grew up listening to the Beatles when they were recording and performing together some sixty years ago. It used to be (and still is to an extent) it was often said it so sad that two of the members died prematurely. These days, in 2024, the question is not that how is it two of them have died relatively young but instead how is it two of them are now in their eighties? Believe me, it is scary as anything. Ringo will be 84 this year, while Paul will be 82. Unbelievable. As an aside, I saw Ringo perform back in 2003 when he performed with his All-Star Band at the Britt Festival in Jacksonville, Oregon. He especially loved George, who had died not long before this particular performance, like a brother. The man is a treasure.
I still can remember the very first time heard The Beatles in the radio (I was a Junior in HS - 1963) - the next day I talked about this great band and no one had heard them yet!!! Didn’t take very long before everyone knew who they were! We just started passing our albums along to our son and DIL - they were both very excited!!!
Oh, I'm pretty much younger and I'm so scared of not being able to see at least one of them live some day! I live in Argentina, they don't come here since ages ago and I really wish they would :(
His rock-solid poise we got a glimpse of in the Beatles movies, but here we see he can maintain it live. A very no-nonsense guy.
Released in the U.S. on Feb. 11th -- a mere six years earlier on the same date, the Beatles performed their first concert in America (Washington D.C.). A lot had changed in a short period of time!
"The Magic Christian" had been released two weeks earlier than this TV appearance in the U.S. (on 2/23/70). The Beatles (without John Lennon) had done their last sessions together about six weeks earlier, so even though it wasn't official yet, the Beatles were essentially done by the time of this airing.
Very true, Mikey, and just weeks after this airing, Paul would insert a press release in his first solo album indicating he had no further plans with the other three and publicizing the split.
@@davebloombeat Yup, a little under 2 months later!
They were done August of 1969 when John came back from Toronto.
@@sammencia7945 I prefer to peg it to the day that John had the meeting at Apple with Paul and Allen Klein in Sept 1969, where he said that he was leaving the band.
I can still remember in spring 1970, there were so many rumours if the Beatles were really breaking up. Sadly, it would soon be confirmed as true.
I'll bet that they treasure the memory of working with Ringo...
Aren't they all dead?
@@shyman99No, just John & George.
@@scarygary-qq1pj - I'm referring to the people Ringo was working with on Laugh-In.
@@shyman99that was going to be my reply “they’re all dead!”
And visa versa I’ll bet.
Ruth Buzzi is a jewel. I hope she’s doing well.
I saw her several years ago at Poor David’s Pub in Dallas, TX. I hadn’t known she was going to be a surprise guest but when she walked onstage I recognized her immediately! She looked fantastic, too. I’d never seen her in person before that night, she’s so little… a petite woman. I posted photos to my friends the next day - I was so blown away! 💕
Loved her skit on the bench with Artie Johnson as the old man.
@@SapiophileGoddessthat's awesome! Great to hear that she's still doing good!
Watching "Laugh-In" with my sisters was one of my core memories from the 1970s.
Ringo was and is so chill 😊
I still remember watching this. “Laugh-In” was at its peak in 1969-70. TV was about to change with shows like “Mary Tyler Moore” and “All in the Family” right around the corner.
Seseme St was better 😅
Ringo’s hair looks great
Three different shades, sort of looks like a wig on top over the lighter portions below.
Yeah, he used to have a gray streak. Now he just slathers it with black shoe polish.
The cut was known as a ''feather cut'' very popular in the early 70s! And it does look good on Ringo..
He cut it all off a few short weeks after this appearance!
I don't blame him for doing so.😀 I'd probably do the same. I just buzzed mine off a few weeks ago and it's already coming back with a vengeance.😆 Must have shaved off a couple of lbs., 😃I feel more streamlined now. Also saves a lot of time with no combing/brushing which is nice, didn't realise how much time I was wasting. @@MsSteve70
Ringo is so cute and he still is even at 83.
Teressa Graves was a babe. A real beauty.
thanks i was looking for her name, wow! lovely !
"Get Christie Love", 1974 movie, starred former Laugh-In star Teresa Graves as a hot black police detective. "You're under arrest, sugah!" was something I always wanted her to say to me!
As I said she was fin' hot
Totally
Teresa Graves was one of my favorites on Laugh In. She had beauty and talent. I enjoyed seeing her with Ringo Starr.
OH, THAT WAS FUNNY. I LOVED IT WHEN RUTH BUZZY(SP) BEAT RINGO WITH HER PURSE! SHE WAS RELENTLESS! 😅😊😂❤❤
I saw Ringo a couple of years ago. He was 80 and still energetic!
That's great! In a concert?
@@sl4983 it was one of his All-Star tours. It’s worth it!
This doesn't get old.......❤❤❤
Yes it does. It's not funny anymore.
L9ve his hair looks cool with his let it be style hair from that time
I always loved long hair. My husband had respectable ,one hair in 1975 - it has now taken a very long vacation😳😳😄😄
……saw ‘Laugh In’ & loved it! It was cutting edge when first televised. Ruth Buzzey was fantastic!
Classic. I just couldn't pass this up. And, yet this man is still authenticity kicking it out. Just read an article in the monthly ARAP magazine. We love you Ringo. The magic Christian. OMG. I love the high lights in his hair.

Ah Ringo 🥁 You Know It Don't Come Easy!
Ha .. drum roll 🥁😉

Ringo's hair is perfect 🌈🌸💐
It's so crazy, and the clothes he wears.
He seems to have had a blond streak in his hair. I wonder if the grey streak got jealous.
Thank you for uploading this! 💯
Our pleasure!
He’s a good sport.
Loved this show ,Love American Style.
Laugh in.
Artie.Johnson !!. I used to adore this show !!.
Oops, I missed this episode back in the day ...glad to see it now all these years later
Those were the magical days...
Gotta love this❣️👏👏👏
“How do you like that, Magic Christian?” Is the best line here, even though they are plugging that terrible movie to death. He definitely has chemistry with that lovely black girl!
It was really great to see Ringo Starr on Laugh-In. I enjoyed seeing him here with Teresa Graves.
It wasn’t terrible
@@johnp515 Perhaps I’m being unfair, it has some Terry Southern zingers. I should have said ‘occasionally terrible’ 😄
She acted like it was all she could do to hold herself back from taking Ringo down and kissing him all over! She was randy.......😄

Out of sight Ringo out of sight!!!!
I used to watch Laugh In as a kid. The political stuff at the time I didn’t understand but the comedy I understood.
Lyndon Johnston got that show cancelled I can remember seeing Goldie hawn on that show
@@user-wj1xp8uo8e why did Johnson do that? I remember Goldie. She played ditzy real good. My favorite was Artie Johnson when he played the German soldier. Verrry interesting. The amazing thing about Ringo is that he looks younger now than he did back then
Hair dye is an amazing thing.
@@p0llenp0ny I have read that Ringo eats broccoli with every meal. I wonder if that is his secret. Besides the hair dye.

I love Ringo ♥️
Several months back, I,listened to a guy on TH-cam talking about the best drummers - he did quite a few demonstrations with various styles and then he went on to Ringo - who is still the best drummer of our time (I’m 76!).
I just love Ringo! What makes even cooler is that he’s been best lads with Joe Walsh forever! They even were married to sisters at the same time ! Ringo so underrated!
Ringo Act’s Naturally
"Have you ever been busted?" "No, and obviously neither have you." LOL. How did that get past the censors?

These are classic
He forgot to make the V sign with his fingers & say Peace & Love.
This was before peace and love
Peace and love wouldn't be invented for another six months after this was aired. Until then the V sign represented "truce and amenability"
Ironically, The Beatles weren’t feeling peaceful and loving amongst themselves. What is sad is that as this episode was airing, they were breaking up. John had privately departed the band months earlier and not long after this was aired, Paul would publicly announce his split with the other three.
Love it!
My favorite Beatle😊

Who's the black actress? She's hot!
Teresa Graves, who sadly passed away in a house fire in 2002. She was only 54 years old.

You know I keep asking this. I will keep asking this. Why were the actors, characters, and writing so incredibly entertaining back then, and today unwatchable?
Personality, genuine personality.
why did "personality" in entertainment go from amazing to unwatchable? @@MattHawes
First, No Woke. Nowadays an entertainer cant say anything without offending some group.
You are saying entertainers are putting politics ahead of crafting their art? Perhaps, but there were plenty of very political great entertainers 30+ years ago. @@rubenoteiza9261
Sure, that's true for Don Rickles and Eddie Murphy, but there were countless hilarious comedians back then that didn't "offend" people. I really think there's a big bad shift in societies' psyche that is the culprit. @@rubenoteiza9261
