Nothing I mean nothing was better than being a child back in the 70s watching and loving stars like Goldie (as a little girl) best time to grow up and I'm so grateful bc those days are gone and if you weren't there... you'd never understand how wonderful it was! I disagree. Hollywood was (and still is) a huge social engineering project with the intention of being destructive to families and relationships. Audiences let themselves be mesmerized by these glamorous "movie stars" and, consciously or unconsciously, emulated their lifestyles and lack of commitment in relationships. Goldie was just a flirtatious wind-up doll who, according to contract, pretends that a movie about cheating had some deep cultural significance.
I said it all the time to my sons they will never know the life I grew up in I feel awful about that

I wouldn't trade it even for youth in this world I see nowadays.
Heck as long as I lived in the era of air conditioning; I'm good.

P.S. -- These old interviews with Johnny are absolute gold. 🤩 Nothing will ever compare. I have memories as a child watching his show with my grandmother, who let me stay up late to watch him with her. Awwwhhh...the good old days... 💜💜💜

I had the pleasure of meeting Goldie in the early 90s at my friends Christmas tree lot in Beverly Hills, she had been coming to order a tree for several years.. Such a sweet, gentle, funny woman.. I still have the picture of her and I sitting with our onsite Santa Clause as if we were brother and sister 😂
Loved that girl. She always seemed to be so carefree and happy. Funny as hell in everything she did.
Yes I know, but she hasn't been active in public for quite a while. I'm sure she has her reasons but it certainly wasn't for lack of talent or following. Wish her the best, she gave us some great entertainment!

Yeah that's the first thing I noticed while watching this interview. You can see how striking the resemblance is between Goldie and Kate.
Goldie is just a treasure. I didn’t realize how much she knows and expresses it so easily.
Awww I can see why everyone loves Goldie her name fits her perfectly. I love her laugh and she has those sweet eyes and that smile. I fell in love with Goldie when she done that movie Overboard you could really see her humor and she played with Kurt Russel who she’s been with for decades.
It’s nice to travel down memory lane and visit the good ole days.

One would assume Goldie is a ditz but then she speaks and between the giggles and the laughs, she is complex and she is one with substance. So great to see these old shows on YT for people like myself that wasn't born yet.

Well, I have a different take. I see a flirtatious wind-up doll who, according to her contract, went on a talk show to glamorize promiscuity, belittle marriage and try to claim that a movie about cheating had some profound cultural significance. Unimpressed.
I think that might be referred to as an intelligent conversation. Man, I've had a crush Goldie since I was about 8 yrs old (mid 70's) and right up to this day I still do. Even read her memoire which was brilliant.

THAT'S the Hudson who is Kate's father? Never knew until now that it was he that Goldie was with. Used to watch their variety show when I was a kid, that's really all I ever knew about the guy... and out of the 3, I still don't know which guy Bill is lol
@@djdissi She was married to Bill Hudson. After the divorce he forgot all about his daughter Kate & son Oliver. Oliver even posted a "tribute" to his birth father on Father's Day several yrs ago that said--"Happy Abandonment Day"! Kurt Russell, for all intents & purposes, is the ONLY dad those 2kids had.

@@casyatbat she also started a foundation ...also right when this clip was filmed she was in the midst of a clinical depressive phase ...she has talked about it a lot and said in her twenties and thirties it was the worst time ..but she kept the facade up for the public and thought no one would like her if she wasnt this bright happy thing.
