I am Mohawk from Wahta. I'm all for keeping our reserves clean but what transpired in Alderville is wrong. No trial no judge no arrest no discussion but judged and tried by your chief and council. I heard all the facts and I don't agree how you dealt with it. For hundreds of years the white man did this to our race and now your doing the same. If your not standing for our indigenous ways then why are you representing them ? He may have had bad acquaintances but many of us do hidden away that we don't discuss. It's not like he just showed up. He had family here and is native himself. This would not have happened on most the reserves I know of. So many of us suffered and were traumatized throughout our past like me and my mother raised in residential schools tortured and abused. So yes a few of us just might be different but we continue to work for a better life. Hate breeds hate and lack of empathy is an awful way to live. Most of the comments on here seem to lack though native history. Cause if you did you wouldn't make such harsh comments. Us that are in our 70's and 90's suffered a much different life than what to see now. Try upgrading your native history and our schools. Do you even have any idea how many hundreds of natives have no status ? And not by thier doing either but through the white man's assimilatation. We were stripped of our names, heritage and tradition. Even our language
I think kahnawake tried a similar tactic , different circumstances, but they lost in the Supreme Court in Quebec and was ordered to pay 35k to each person they tried to kick off, good luck chief Mowat
