the original owner seems very weird. His arrogance, posture, man spread. Something wrong with that chap.
You got that right.
I’ll say! Sure wouldn’t want him for a neighbour.
He’s pissed off! I would be also. Those people are crooks. They could have helped him by amortizing the 10 k!
That previous owner is out of his mind crazy!!! He needs help!! He was notified mail AND email and did not pay what was owed?! Screw him & his Cult. He's Wrong you can't work with this type of person. Totally a self-absorbed lunatic! I don’t care what that guy in here says that these poor people are thieves?! This guy deserves what got him and it’s the law! And now the officials are holding their property hostage over this nutcase?! Unbelievable where is their rights at?! how does this county even think that they can hold anything against these people? They have everything that they need to prove what they did. And this guy is a goddamn liar that he didn’t know about any of this! You could see it in his face. He needs to be medicated and they need their home back!!
@@RamonaRayTodosSantosBCS Medy? Is that you? LOL Frickin' weirdo! Loser!
The original owner that didn’t pay 10k. He’s full of it, all this happened because he didn’t want to pay what he owed. He knew of the barn, he was kept in the loop, yet he over dramatized his disappointment. Getting diagrams, pictures and letters sent to him continuously on the many different projects, and he didn’t get the email about his land going to auction??? The guy is a scammer.
Yes, I call BS on that he didn't receive that email. All he had to do was pay the 10500 and it would have been all over with. He caused all the trouble.
He told on himself when he said he didn't have the money to pay them the 10K bc he'd already paid them the previous money. That just proves he threw a fit in hopes that he wouldn't have to pay any more bc he didn't even have any more money to make the last few payments. He literally accidentally admitted he was trying to scam them
Even so, did no one ever send a certified letter via postal? That would be the correct way. I just can't imagine no one sent legal, certified mail.
@@GingerNinja1 That is what I think is BS. There is no way they did not send him a certified letter on this legal matter. Although it seems this is not the first thing the sheriffs office screwed up on. The province should step up and correct their mistake.
Very dumb not to pay that amount, considering what he did pay but not convinced about the couple.Didn't keep his emotions in check. Historic barns often can be saved, even partially. The Mennonites do it all the time. Communication is not clear on that. By not paying that amount, he left an opening. Don't underestimate what people covet, especially when you're not around. Not so sure about the integrity of this couple, no matter how well-meaning and well-intentioned, or civil they 'seem.' or appear. 'He said, she said'-no matter what side, doesn't cut it or if someone likes or dislikes someone.
The New Yorker is a scammer. He saw what he lost and wants it back.
Now that it has multiplied in value. Yes i agree he is a scammer.
Why? He is a weirdo but it doesn't mean they should get his house with 40 acres for 50k. Wife talks, husband nods. Nothing nice about them.
@@user-ie1vf5sv3j agree, a gain should not have a bearing on amounts owed. it's not their house he didn't pay up but it's not their house hopefully the courts will order him to pay up and he should comply, act quickly, and then count his lucky stars, get them as far away as possible from the house. 'If it's too good to be true. . . ' they seem to be articulate and logical enough to strategize and figure that part out. They knew what they were doing and what they wanted.
40 acres and a mule 😢
Something seriously wrong with that man.
He is scary.
I hope the Tenniswoods win this and get out from under this. There is something about that joker in New York that stinks of con- artist.
agreed
They are grifters taking the guy's house and property.
@@castlerock58 nothing was taken. It was paid for.
Crackpot is more like it. He sounds like he is capable of anything.
Why? They got his house with acreage for 50k. Wife talks, husband nods.He is a weirdo but they are definitely not nice people. Yikes!
The original owner allowed the house to rot, fall apart with minimal maintenance and repairs, throwing fits when a barn collapsed. In essence, did not take care of business, ignored business and did not complain until he realized that the house had been restored and is now worth hundreds of thousands more than it was worth when he owned it. Nasty and sad business
I bet if the Tenniswoods did not do all that work, he would not want the property back. By the sound of it, the house was not worth anything the way it was.
He was paying them for renovations, so took care of it. He is a weirdo but they are not nice, honest people either.
nope, he paid up to date until they took down the historic barn maybe it wasn't retrievable, we don't know, only someone's word, doesn't negate that he is the owner, no matter how disagreeable he seems, the house and land should never have been auctioned off like that, absolutely awful local governance
they tried to get the house without paying its fair market value and probably doubted that he would sell it doesn't help that he is far away and the family is probably deeply ingratiated with the local community but that should have absolutely no bearing on the rightful ownership and any judgement.
He left himself very open and vulnerable by not keeping himself up to date on his accounts-Waay cheaper to pay, keep it straight, and keep a cool head.
what bothers me the Most, is how bad the owner allowed the place to get before he decided to love it. the damage wasnt from short term neglect. Any person who loves anything they own, treat it with respect and maintains it as if it`s a living being.
The owner inherited the house in its existing condition.
Lest you forget, he did fork out 87K to get it fixed.
The Tenniswood were hired to follow through with the owner.
But instead, they took advantage to profit from a legal situation.
The moral of this story is: Don't bite the hand that feeds you.
@@Genius-in-the-Lamp it was a month ago that I watched this, but I remember him not wanting to pay for what was fixed which landed him with a fight over payment on top of it still needing more repairs from decades of neglect. It being his parents home gave him full opportunity to fix it before inheriting it. If I loved a building of my parents, I would have kept up with All maintenance of it to prevent Any major damage.
@@icyone Regardless, the property belongs to its rightful owner. The dispute is about an extra 10K of questionable fees. The bottom line is: the owner paid 87K for the renovations. The moral of the story is: Don't bite the hand that feeds you.
@@Genius-in-the-Lamp property belongs to who ever has their name on it, but if u stop paying then it gets taken away. He admitted to not having the money, and refused to pay. This family didnt steal anything, or pay anyone off. The went through a lawyer. Are we talking about the same show?
@@icyone The officer who auctioned off the house and acres of property did not have the right to sell. Your argument is weak.
Nuff said!
Boy this Mehdi guy gives off a very, very bad vibe. He seems unstable. Sure hope it turns out well for the Tenniswoods.
He seems loaded... and not financially.
Petty of me, perhaps, but I hope that he reads all of these comments. If he's capable of, well, being scathed.
The “artist” is a scam artist.
Well."Contactors" got his house on the shore ( with acreage) for 50k. It seems like the other way around. His a weirdo but they are not angels.
They did an amazing job renovating it! Stunning 😍 hope things get better for them.
That New York guy is a joker he did that to himself and saying he never got the final warning and didn’t receive those emails but yet he got all the emails before that LOL he didn’t even care about that house until now. He clearly ain’t getting it back
A notification of this nature would NEVER have been sent by email- the Sheriff and whoever he is working with is responsible and liable for everything
Well it’s BS! Email? Those kind of transactions have to have notifications via certified or registered mail. And return signature! Email! Your kidding!
@@cagegirl12000apparently you missed where it said he was sent emails AND paper copies.
Grifter
Let's hope he doesn't get it back the guy seems a little off😅😂
This new yorker is the typical guy who does his best to get out of paying contractors their final payment. This happens daily to anyone in the business. He is such a con.
Well.
This " contactors ' got his house with acreage on the shore for 50k. He is a weirdo but they are not angels either. Wife seems to be in charge..
The house and land should/could have been auctioned for fair market value but it wasn't, that's a red flag. It's wrong. No matter how obnoxious he appears.
Epic con & these days millions of ppl appear to be getting coached on how to get away with it.
@@zoidmo3388He paid them 87k for renovations. They tore his barn down without permission and demanded 10k for it. Then attempted to take his property. Who is a con here?
@@user-ie1vf5sv3j It was a very distressed property that the buyer would have to spend a lot of money on. Happens all the time - where a *potentially* nice - but current piece of dung property goes for a song. Then people pour the money and time and bring it to life. Not at all unusual.
How come people who owe money, and say they can't possibly pay it, can always afford lawyers?
Exactly!!! Never understood that either!
They live in a trailer with no water? Maybe to save what little they can to pay a lawyer as able? More likely this is on contingency.
Wow this guy has a skewed vision of reality. He doesn’t take any responsibility
HOW MUCH COKE DOES HE SNORT?
Lol ! Good one . He seems pretty high on something
💯💯
@@koryryon4177arrogance and lies
Wouldn't be surprised, the rental money is going somewhere. 😂
The original owner is a conman. I hope these people find justice for this scam. It's not like the house wasn't a derelict disease infested property. Is he now lying he hired them to renovate it, hope he has proof.
Shame on the Nova Scotia government. The Artist guy needs to be institutionalized, and ignored!
The new yorker is like a cartoon. Seems like a nightmare to know, never mind work for. Try decaf.
He seems a bit unstable. He talks in the first person a lot then turns and talks to the invisible people next to him.
He strained his hamstring kicking the dirt? 😂🙄 He’s over the top.
How old is this guy? He’s pretending to be a 17 yr old surfer dude.
Just the type of guy who would ignore a very important email. But still, those contractors seem to have everything too well aligned... Reno go wrong, force the owner to sell, then buy and reno immediately then trying sell, a bit suspicious...
or cutting down on the hallucinogenics! LOL What kind of idiot ignores a legal proceding against them? That guy. Anyone else would have sat up and paid attention. Just think, if he had just scraped together the 10k (Canadian) he owed them, there wouldn't have been this mess.
i hurt my hamstring kicking the dirt" 😭😭😭 omg im dying of laughter from that new york chooch. call the whambulance and nine whaa whaa
The New Yorker is a piece of work. Ugh. Loses all credibility with his attitude.
I agree. I would have had some sympathy for him but not after the way he acted. He is crazy.
Being a weirdo is not a crime. He is upset. He has a point. They are not angels
This is not about a haunted house! For that I was disappointed but it was very interesting.
I started watching for the same reason 😅
I think the former owner is the bad spirit that curses this place 😢
Of course the New Yorker “loves” the house now because of all the work that went into it. Then he turns around and sells it for a million. He’s made a legit threat at the end of the part 2 and I hope it’s been brought to the authorities.
This couple bought a house and wanted to make a proper investment. They cared for it. They are the victims in this
That guy from New York needs to wake up and take responsibility for his errors. Blame shifting everywhere, it's ridiculous.
As a Canadian witnessing the housing crisis unfold in my country, it's disheartening to see an American and a Brit fighting over land here while I struggle to afford a home. The soaring prices and limited availability of housing have created immense challenges for many Canadians, myself included. While international interest may drive up property values, it exacerbates the struggle for locals to secure affordable housing.
Prices have inflated all over the world. But I feel you whole heartedly. Things are freaking falling apart for the millennials and Gen z. There has been an exodus within big cities and homelessness is everywhere. It’s untenable but even more so.. it’s inhumane. What are we.. feefs?
Why don't you guys to move to America?
YOU DO NOT MENTION THE CHINESE TAKE OVER ONE JUST NEEDS TO LOOK AT VANCOUVER TENT CITY AND MAID YOU VOTED TRUDEAO IN VOTE HIM OUT . HOUSES ARE SAME HERE IN UK WORSE SINCE BILLEGAL MIGRANTS HAVE FLOATED IN
we are totaly having housing crisis in usa too...raising rents for nothing but greed
Happy to have you in America
The guy is crazy it has nothing to do with being from NYC!
Exactly!
This guy is a joke. How convenient for him to get the house renovated for free?
Not for free, he paid over 80 thousand to restore
Thank-you W5 for helping me waste my time watching this episode! I'm really into ghost videos and I thought this was about a haunted house. Next time word it properly!!
Thank You for the warning.
I thought it was a great documentary. From the very beginning, you could tell It wasn't one of those videos. So how much time could you have possibly wasted?
It's called clickbait. I hate it too.
That's why I clicked on it too,
Same here, total waste of time
The guy from NewYork is a nut. He had ample time to settle his debts .He thought he was going to get away without paying.I’m from Nova Scotia pay your debts or you lose.
That artist is one of the most annoying of the annoying. He’s acting like he’s in a high school theater production and he’s obviously lying.
Wow that New York artist is really hyped up.
Methinks quite artificially. (One of those dudes that makes me extra grateful for 26 years clean/sober, tbh.)
May the injured party get what's rightfully theirs, plus civil damages, tho I'm not sure of Canadian laws in that regard.
Something is off with the original owner, he seems completely off balance.
This artist in New York; why didn't he resort to getting professional advice from a lawyer, the way the Tenniswoods did. He ignored the mail, he knew something was going on with the house, but he ignored all the signs. Burying your head in the sand is not a way to go through life. I'm upset that the Tenniswoods are brought to this situation in this way. The fancy artist in New York had two extra years to sell his paintings and come up with the money. I don't know how he wasn't fined for contempt of court when he staged his temper tantrum. The judge let him off easy. What kind of dream world does he live in? I hope the Tenniswood family gets their house back and gets justice; plus the 10K and interest from this loser artist. If he can afford to live in New York, he can afford 10K, especially if this house means so much to him. Also, a good lawyer would not make a phone call, because there's no way to trace what was said. A good lawyer sends letters, which he did, and so why didn't the reporter take him to task on this, and ask him to produce his email account. He needs to prove he didn't receive the email, but he can't so he lies. He has crazy eyes. He's a bit unhinged.
Only a bit? I think he’s looking at unhinged in the rear view mirror 🤪 😂😂
He's playing the part of the tortured artist.
Did you hear when the NY artists admitted it was his fault for not paying the 10 grand? It sounded like he admitted fault.
In Australia one has to prove court documents have been served on the person legally. An email or a letter not signed for as received by addressee isn't acceptable by any means either. Horrible situation. I hope the tenniswoods win though.
If the sheriffs office did not do their legal duty, then they should have to go good on any financial losses on behalf of the Tenniswoods. Then if that nut in NY wants his house back, he doesn't get it back till he pays the costs on the renovations.
Ehh seems like all 3 of them are scammers
There's a picture of me sitting on the porch of that house C. 2003 or '04. It had been long abandoned at that time. That Yank should be locked up somewhere. I've never met him but I friggin' HATE him!!!
Original owner is delusional!
'they' want it back after it's been renovated...
outstanding taxes, unpaid renovators? he neglected to take care of his things. do the same in the u.s., they will also sell your property for the unpaid taxes, no???
Yes. They can put a lien against your house and then you will have nothing but serious problems
The guy from New York is a joke.
The house was up for auction. Where was the guy then?
The renovation is absolutely stunning!
I hope they get TONS of business as a result. Maybe a canadian show!
Every trade person or company can put a lien on your house when you failed to pay what you owe.
Absolutely. I'm in the trades
Oh my God! I was in this house. When this video popped up and I saw the house I realized I attended a friend's wedding here in the early 1980's. I didn't know Richard or Dorothy, but they allowed two friends of mine to have their wedding there which my husband and I attended. ThIs is too freaky.
The artist former owner of the house needs psychological counseling. What a fool !!!!
Wait, is he an actor performing a reenactment?
It's pretty over the top. Wondered if he's for real.
Seems like a manic episode.
I agree🤣😂
The original owner was a joke. No reason he was 'thrown' out of court room. He should have paid what he owed.
Just because it was completely neglected and left for dead does not mean it’s haunted! 🙄🙄
The supposed owner needs to pay for all the money it was sink in!! What a crook!!
Lousy man wantinv his house after these honest loyal people fixed it up? I pray justice for this family and vengence belongs to God as well..
I am currently a victim of this Nova Scotia Government Horror Show,
Property Extortion Scam. "Mistakes or Misconduct", and looking to obtain Legal Council.
Matty is such a dramatic guy… He had that email for sure. He just turned a blind eye to it.
There is no way he did not receive a registered letter. Government office would make sure he was notified. Someone is lying here
That guy, le artiste, has no ideal excuse but “I did not get the emails”. He points to the decisions made by the Sheriff. There may have been something irregular, but he list the house through his own foolhardiness, “ I knew about it the judgement, but I didn’t believe in it” sorry about your luck, Trump junior, these folks now own your house”
Of course the owner got those emails about the auction. And, if he was so passionate about his property, why didn't he keep track of the situation himself? Man, that guy lies a lot.
Drugs
The previous owner is not quite "with it" I think he needs some mental health assistance. You can't ignore court orders and just think that they will vanish into thin air.
This poor family 🙏
Give up the artistry, take up acting...you deliver one hell of a performance.
😂😂😂 exactly!!
As a psycho crack head
Just another Circus guy trying to gaslight
The family owns the house they bought it a auction. Who got the 50,000. They paid?
Karma will get the guy from New York. What a ass
Back taxes
I understand the sheriffs office told them they did not have to pay the $50,000. Sounded fishy to me.
@@GordonRebel They didn’t have to pay the full deposit because there was money owed to them against the property.
Lived near here all my life and never heard this bouse being haunted .
I do hope this guy gets his comeuppance in all the ways.
This is so sad I hope they win in this legal battle I wish them the very best !!!!!
So when does the haunted house part come in? 🤔
Right??? 🙄
Ya ! Where is the haunted house part !?
Ask the people of Annapolis about what went on at that house and on the property. They had to put up with that commune of Phalanstery cretons infiltrating their town every year, for years. Like a low budget Tarantino movie..
Literally the only reason I clicked. 😢

His eyes were scary looking, very intense.
You know darn well he got those emails. He is full of it.
Finally found a TH-cam channel much like the ones I liked watching that no longer add new stories. I was getting bored with TH-cam, then this channel was recommended.
the painter is batshit crazy
That painter is a joke😂😂
Pay your bills !!!!!! This is all on you mr! Follow the law like we all do over here !!!! If you cared at all you would have paid your bills !!!!! It’s Gods Law as well to always pay your debts ! So stop acting so shocked !!!!
Perhaps Matty needed to have paid more attention to the fact he was running short on available cash to continue repairs to the house, or tell the remodelers to halt further work until he had the money to pay the Tenniswoods to complete the repairs.
One would have thought the notice his house would be put up for auction if he didn't pay the $10,000+ interest the judge decided he owed for repairs should have been sent as a certified letter that needed to be signed for on receipt to ensure Matty had received it.
He doesn't appear to pay much attention to details, nor figure out the consequences he might face if he just ignores the judge's ruling, rather than calmly and sensibly trying to find a solution that allowed him to keep the house. Tough way to learn a lesson.
To me it sounded like there was mistakes made mostly by the Sheriff's office.
He didn’t pay attention them to fix his house!! What an absolute nut job.
I lived in digby county and lost my home to foreclosure. Bad separation. Ex husband agreed to pay me out and keep it. Went thru lawyers. Yet over night he filed bankruptcy and I lost my dream home. 😢
That NY dude is a punk
Is there title insurance?
Even refusing to pay the court ordered judgement, he would have lost the house to back taxes anyway. I just can't believe he was so ignorant of the law, he seems to be pretending to be a victim in all this. I say he's full of himself, and needs to accept the truth that he is no longer the legal owner.
Artsy boy is all the way cra cra!!!! 😳🤦♀️
That guy his sick and not responsable.
The original owner is so egotistical he can’t believe someone dear go against him.
Dude, you didn't pay up. You lost.
The artist should have paid the bill. The Tenniswoods should never have bought the property - looks really bad.
This whole time I thought there were ghosts involved when I read the title. I got all excited for nothing 🤦
Outstanding property taxes alone would have lost him the house
I've never even heard of Annapolis valley nova Scotia before. Never new this place/ town even existed.
That guy doesn’t need a house, he needs to get committed.
That guy is...not okay. And yes, I know that's an understatement!
The light house in front should of been the first red flag lol
I don't believe for a minute that the original owner had no notice of the Sheriff sale. He probably received written notice and didn't bother to open the envelop or just chose not to deal with it,
I am only 6 minutes in but I remember this house while visiting on VC in my teens many decades ago. Being a seer my family asked if it was haunted while I was intrigued wondering what it looked like inside with behind the boards on the windows. There was nothing negative attached to the house but the land, yes. The new owners put so much love into this well deserved home. I really hope this turns around with some good from all this because of this family.
Wooo wee! Buddy is super ZOOTED! 😤❄
W5 Thank You so much for reporting in my province of Nova Scotia
Buddy is shady as hell......he got his email and stuff.
all over 10grad which he should've (a) paid the judgement or (b) take it to higher court - but by that point would be cheaper to pay what a mess
His ego and instability usurp logic.
Unbelievable. You just don’t take those kind of risks when you have children. 🤦♀️
They had already worked on the house for months yet they estimated it would be another 200k but it turned into 600k? If they mess up that bad with their own money I pity their clients.
It's almost like that movie, house of sand and fog.
The house is absolutely stunning. It's such a shame
Any updates on this story?
The original owner remembered the house after they turned that jerk into a real beautiful house, he is greedy, and he is not mentally ok
Wow can’t wait to watch part 2.
I came here thinking this was about a haunted house 🤦♀️. lol
