I somehow feel like games depicted brutally like this are less disturbing than the wacky zany games we see now where whacky kooky characters make topical quips and laugh as they're brutally murdering people.
It's not just "Edgy", that's irrelevant. It's authentic, both games especially the second game wants to present realism and not shy to show everything to the player. The game (or the devs) want to physically and mentally inflict the same torture the duo had, to the player. The music(ambience) and the story through the gameplay, shows it. They had a clear goal and perfected it. Even if it is short. Exquisite experience, never again, sadly, we will have it
i kind of understand the shift that we got into, with the global economic crisis and saturation of edgy stories and movies and shows and everything being dark and gritty and edgy and fucking badass, zany wacky and le epic characters were a novelty, now its time to let the coin flip again
Societal and economical trends used to dictate art more now yeah including games, though now it seems that what the normal man is trudging through is reflected less in the mainstream arts anyway, thanks corporatism.
@@venomsnackalso it's not that 'Morality lacks definition' it's that it serves to give out 'meaning' as a concept, but it exemplifies the allegorical and paradoxical nature of trying to give out 'meaning' - for and against Humanity aka Human Nature or what it means to be 'Human'... 'Morality' as with other concepts/dilemma's such as 'Normality' - 'Good & E_iL, Hero & Villain' - etcetera, etcetera... it all stems from a subset of an 'idea' that forms a set of standards that gets objectified in (perceived) truth of what it's supposed to be as and what it should be...

I just recently got through playing these games again. I think unfortunately these games were heavily misunderstood upon release, which is unfortunate because there is a lot of potential in this series in my opinion. That being said the games as a whole are overwhelmingly ok with some sections even being outright bad. I just wish that they had one last chance to nail what kane and lynch could’ve been, which is an actually pretty good crime thriller with 2 protagonists that are at the same time horrible but also almost in an inverse way compelling. I’ll even say at some points I find these shit heels likable for how terrible they are.

Nice to see both games get recognized, even contrasting the unique traits of each instead being lumped into an anoymous whole.
Based vid. K&L is a hidden gem of a series.
The first game is hot garbage
@@loubloom1941 the first game was great but the only problem is it was a windows live game
The most edge kino franchise of all time
Yeah probably. I can't think of something that tops it

@@venomsnackno such thing as the concept of 'Normality'...

@@godzillazfriction the "it's always been this way" is a popular argument but not exciting enough for TH-cam outrage.
Man my brother and I played the 1st game religiously
I think the first game is a masterpiece, I just finished both games last week and they hold up so well against the crap we have now.
Glad they served you well. God bless

really good analysis
Io Interactive aka Hitman creators made this game.
the V/O is putting me asleep
Fair enough. I'll try to be more emotive
