I miss this era of games. I was never a big online gamer but I loved those 2 player co-op campaign games like this game and it's sequel. The army of two Trilogy and the first 3 gears of war game's. Even resident evil 5 to a certain extent despite being my least favourite main line entry. It seems like the 2 players co-op campaign option died out / faded away after 2013. I prefer single player game's as a whole but I have fond memories playing the above mentioned game's with a friend online. Good times.
This game certainly made me aware of how some game review's are clearly being paid behind the scenes to say how amazing the game is while not often being critical about it. Refering to the infamous GameSpot review of this game and the firing of Jeff gerstmann afterwards.
I agree on perfering a single player game, but all of those I had so much fun with a friend. Any game played with someone is a plus.
I always thought it was funny that Lynch has much more hair on the cover art.
The marketing team were okay with showing murderers on the box, but having a bald guy was taking it too far.
Man, I remember the war section being only a tiny portion near the end. CRAZY that it actually takes up half the game. The first half was so much fun.
Yeah I wanted more of the insane action movie vibe
I know it gets a bad rep, but I still enjoy this series a lot. Super gritty, simple gameplay but very cinematic.

Man, my lil brother and i had an awesome time with this game, and fine memory of it. I think the co-op allowed us to bond over it. That was like 10 years ago atleast and we still remember playing it.
I feel like Kane and Lynch could have been a blockbuster hit. It just never reached the potential to most people that I thought it had the chance to. 2 characters with great personality like a buddy cop film except not cops obviously
Seems like mood/tone confusion was the biggest issue. Over-the-top blockbuster action plus serious and gritty story is a combination that never works.
I am shocked I missed this one, given I'm a huge fan of the two game series! I liked your impressions of it while finally playing it many years later after it's initial launch.
I own a special edition & a vanilla copy of this game, along with it's sharp unique sequel & both strategy guides for both games in the franchise as well.
These are perfect examples of games we got all the time back when they were new & willing to bravely make AA experiences that weren't perhaps for everyone but yet fun guilty pleasures for many of us then. This is a great example of what we often received back then on the 7th gen compared to the "play it safe" female protagonist schlock we are served today, which bore me.
Oh man, this game aggrivated me in level you show at 7:11with lamps. I was stuck at a point where I can barely find any cover and the enemies have pinpoint accuracy killing me in no time. My game is still saved so I will have to attempt it once again. Ithough your review was spot on, great job.
Yeah the snipers in that level were a pain! Thank you though I’m glad you enjoyed it.
This game had an incredible multiplayer cops vs robbers mode that was super unique and unpredictable fun. I loved this game back in the day. Oddly enough, they scrapped the online multiplayer in the weak sequel.

Loved this game and how dark it was. Admired that it was unlikable characters and story. The voice acting was great. Unfortunately it did get dull towards the end after an incredibly strong start with that window rappelling heist
I played the second game first but I found that this one has actually a lot more depth in terms of story and characters.
I never understood the criticisms of the protagonists. "Too unlikeable" Yeah that's exactly why I like them I don't need for me to want to be them & I can enjoy seeing bad people do bad things in film so why not games? I actually thought Kane was likeable,a killer but professional criminal having to deal with a Psycho like Lynch whilst having a daughter he loves and wants to protect.The details are a bit thin in my mind it's been a long while since I've played it
I've never played this game or seen much about it, but I got strong "Michael and Trevor" vibes from these two. Lynch's psychotic behavior and balding hair, along with the fact that Kane looks a bit like Michael in that suit (just with less hair), reminded me of them lol
Final hours of the game are way more bearable in coop. I'd recommended playing this game in coop for the first time. I mean, it was built to be played this way. Good video anyway.
The multiplayer was so damn cool! The PvPvE nature wasn't perfectly tuned and usually resulted in bloodbaths, but I really would love to see a game try something like it again.
I really enjoyed this game as a kid, my brother and I would always play it together :D
I feel Kane and Lynch were both great characters, nothing like the looks of your usual main characters and full of grit.
The multiplayer of the 2 kane & lynch games were so fun and original at the time especially because they were released before "Payday" and doing robbery online was very unique for the time period :)
Even in Payday, you can't betray your partners ;)
I hope to eventually set up a session to finally be able to play it.

I played Kane and Lynch dead man last year and i agree with you the game is interesting and fun in beginning and towards the end it becomes boring and lame my favourite parts of the game were the nightclub,the Retomoto tower, construction area fight and bank heist i came to realise that Kane and Lynch inspired Micheal and Trevor from GTA 5

Fragile Alliance is a legitimately brilliant multiplayer mode in concept, but unfortunately it has Kane and Lynch shooting mechanics so it ends up a mixed bag. Damn shame.
The Eidos scandal is the only reason anyone remembers it today. K&L2 is -massively- more unique for better or worse.

Ive still got the limited edition, not that its worth anything, but i have fond memories of this game, one of the first 360 titles i ever owned (legally😂)

Unfortunately I couldn't start it on PC :/
This game stressed me out as a kid. Subversion is wierd with video games. I hated the feeling the bald spot gave me and the overall meanness and ugliness in such a grounded world. GTA was silly and felt naughty. K&L honestly kind of scared me. I remember my friends mom playing and it making me think less of her lol

Funny that Kane & Lynch were getting a movie adaptation. Casting Jamie Fox and Bruce Willis, but got canceled due to poor reviews of the sequel.
That would have been interesting to see. I'm sure it wouldn't be very good, but at least interesting.

To be fair, I am fine with the bad games but not much as well. Kane & Lynch feels like something more interesting and darker, but the fact that the company behind Hitman series really never made any new sequels for it, but at least we just got 2 games, that's fine in my opinion but what's even more annoying is that some missions are very hard for me to finish it up. But let's just say this game is almost forgotten and it's pretty fine but so cinematic at last.

I actually enjoyed this game a lot back in the day. Playing as unapologetic villains is still pretty interesting, especially since Lynch is just a whack job lmao.

The bank heist and that other mission where you're in the streets were so repayable, I'd have to agree tho the jungle and war settings definitely lost touch with the game.

This game was amazing. Even though it could have been so much more. This time in gaming was special to me. I was in high school and played everyday after school with my buddy.

the Havana missions were assets from the cancelled sequel for Freedom Fighters, my guess is either they were low on cash (hence why they had to cancell Freedom Fighters 2) or they just thought "let's put these to use so it wouldn't have been all for nothing" but in any case I enjoyed them; I pretty much enjoyed all the aspects of this game and gave it an 8 (I wanted to go 7.5 but the enjoyment I got from it, funny and chaotic moments amongst other things made me feel it deserved an 8) + as someone who played and finished Freedom Fighters when he was 6 years old I felt right at home with the familiar but improved gameplay/gunplay, Ai and command system [for anyone who thinks Kane and Lynch Dead Men's gameplay and shooting mechanics are bad, go play Freedom Fighters to see what true pain feels like ]; I truly believe that modern gaming has made people soft and lazy towards clunky and challenging *Good* games...
also I must say you're really bad at playing this game lol maybe thats why you didn't enjoy the gameplay as much💔😬

The game that exposed Games Journalism for the joke that it was.
And I actually proudly own it on GOG, too! So even if the game is too bleak to me if I choose to play it, I won't regret owning the game that made people call out Games Journalists before Gamergate made it "cool" in the 2010s.
And now we're in the midst of a second Gamergate with larger consequences, this time involving an entire studio dedicated to _writing games as a singular collective_ and also made up of Far-Left Political Freaks to boot. I can't help but feel you deliberately chose to review Kane & Lynch: Dead Men due to how it made people realise how scummy games journalism was and how we're in the midst of a similar scandal today.
So you can spend your money however you want, that tells me you're not married or in a relationship 😂. The game itself was ok but nothing special.
