Hello, My latest tank modeling course is about 20 hours long on Patreon, so the explanations are very thorough for everything. I think it's good for a beginner, but I make special videos for my Patreon gold members where we discuss things that they might struggle with if they are beginners. Let me know if you need any help.
dude you are a beast. This kind of modeling is really daunting for me and I’ve been using blender for 4 years. Just checked out your 3 hour stream and am studying it religiously. I really appreciate all the in depth tutorials. I know there’s a small subset of people that will sit through the really long tutorials, but I am one of them! Thanks again brotha
The little round cap with the pin next the the driver's hatch is one of the fuel caps. The other hatch on that level is the radio operator/bow gunner hatch. You had two different versions as well, one had the early drive sprocket with 15 teeth the other was a late version with about double the teeth. The last wheel is the idler wheel and is actually shaped a little different the the rest of the road wheels. The smaller wheels on the top are the return rollers. Excellent work, love your videos, keep it up!
The thin pipes on the side of chassis his for clean the gun interior , because you need to keep the gun interior clean , if the gun his not clean it can be decalibrate and explode ;) Now you know what are this pipes . And nice tank and video !
Finally another tank video. Although I would have personally preferred an hour long content for beginners/intermediates. Please consider. But it's still Awesome content. But can you dive into something else? Like an artillery gun (Howitzer) or a helicopter.
was just wondering how you got those bars so even across the length of them because when I tried it ends up uneven/ slightly squashed at the front because they don't scale evenly along the bar but at a central point
@@ArijanRace thank you for that if it's alright I have one more question because even when it does extrude evenly across the bar leave a gap at the back rather than becoming a solid shape, how would I fix that because I managed to make it do it properly at least once but I can't recreate that result for some reason so it just ends up being a U shape across the bar rather than being a solid Square Extruding horizontally on one of the we are edges then welding it works but is there a more efficient way to do this as it's a bit time-consuming
There are 71 objects in the final scene, but they are all parented to something. Only objects which are not parented are displayed, which is only one object for me.
@@7errafirma When an object is parented it follows all the transformations done to the parent object (move, scale, rotate etc.). This is very helpful in cases where you have separate objects for different parts of the thing you are modelling. In this case, when you move the hull object ("Cube") all of the other objects are moved along with it. The objects are still in the outliner (Where collections etc. are shown). To do this you press the drop down arrow on the parent object. Lastly; an object can only have one direct parent, but the parent object can also have a parent, which in turn gives you the opportunity to create a hierarchy of parented objects. An example of this could be that the turret is one parent object and the hull another, where the turret also is parented to the hull object.
Hey man, great video! Are you planning to model Panther tank in the future? Currently working on a high poly Panther model and I would like to see your technique too.
i see you are not generating detail from the main mesh you initially created. You are adding now primitive as you go. How do you determine which one should get its own object data and which should be on eth main body
1 year old vid so i totally get if you dont reply, but is better to add details as unique meshes versus attaching them together? Topology-wise, attaching is WAY more work to attach the meshes together of course, but I thought it wouldn't be ideal to add loads of sub meshes if you were using this in a game for example.
What I learnt is that this helps keep Poly count down , cause adding loads of subdivisions isn't actually a good thing but it depends. And you can add more details to individual pieces. But I'm still learning blender
Great video mate!!!. Do you think you could do a similar format but with a plane instead, in the future? I'm really struggling to make a good looking Ki84 in Blender lol
how would you go about creating a high poly version to add more details like scratches dents and stuff and baking it to this lp? I wanna see how tanks in world of tanks are made. if you could do a video on that or point in the right direction, id appreciate that. And thank you for this tutorial :)
Reading the form is like a core problem to me - neither I can see nor replicate things properly. Blueprints are cool at the first glance but after a couple of seconds starring at one it's all overlapping and messy you can't even define where's what.
Waaay too fast. You are obviously good with Blender so you don't need to prove how quick you are. How about helping us less-skilled people by going slower and explaining which commands you're using. That would be much more helpful, but you efforts are appreciated.
@@ArijanRace oh, ok. But coming back to suspension. With a torsion bar suspension you can do that what you did and animate it as you showed in the videos but there are ones that have bendable parts, in Pz IV for example. Any tips on that?
Hi, I'm new in blender, is this tutorial on patreon beginner friendly or do you need certain amount of prior knowledge of blender for this ?

This channel is a gold mine for beginners like me.

that was an awesome display of Blender skill ... many thanks !!!

I have a few videos like that. But that's why we're gonna do some livestreams
you are my only one teacher.

Do you mean the bars at the side of the tank where I used Alt+S? When you use that function, make sure to check 'even offset' in the bottom-left menu

Hi, um new in blender and i really dont know how to most of the stuff, and i wanted to know how you aded vertices in the heaadlight 1:26
Hi, I am very new to Blender, the model shading and the soft shadow make the model look very solid and good. Is that a matcap?
So when you place a new object on another object what is making those 2 objects fixed or I guess attached to each other?
Video was like, Woooossshhhh 😅
Where can I get references like that?
Can you stark making tank models for DCS modders ? I think your models would get used a lot
Did you use subdivisiion surface modifier to highpoly model of tank?
do you use a bevel shader for the final edges?
How do you have so few items on your scene collection on the top right? All those little details, aren't they separate pieces?
There are 71 objects in the final scene, but they are all parented to something. Only objects which are not parented are displayed, which is only one object for me.
@@ArijanRace I don't know what a 'parented object' is, can you explain? Thanks for answering these.

very nice 💯👍👍

I'll take that as a challenge💪Thank you my friend
This man designs a tank as if he were putting jam in bread
What addons do you use.
Mostly just loop tools. I got many recommendations for box cutter though. What do you think?
Please make the Sherman tank but the bulky one, cast steel chassis, not the welded chassis version.
Will keep it in mind!
@@ArijanRace Thanks :) Merry Christmas :)
Thank you my friend, the same to you🙏

We should do an airplane livestream because I never made one before.
@@ArijanRace nice. I'm looking forward to it :)
Sir , what is best for animation between Rig or constrains
Very nice but you didn't care about grid

you can do it with sculpting tools, or normal maps .
Awesome*)
4 hours to model that....would take me 4 days.
how about Ngon in your model?
Can you make it more detailed and slower? for example you can show us the shortcut !! I know it will take a lot of your time

We'll make another video to break down blueprints more in-depth, it's a highly requested topic which a lot of people are struggling with.
Just like sprocket

nice dodge hellcat

can you slow down?🙃
4 hours? My two tanks took 15h each. Guess I'm just bad. Also. You're not making the suspension, only wheels
Having made as many tanks as I have, I learned that they're all basically the same thing.
@@ArijanRace you're referring to 4 hours or suspension thing?
@@mateuszjedut2406 i meant that all tanks are the same creation process, so I'm just repeating what I did many times before

i didnt understand anything that he said the whole time 💀
where do you find reference images of the same thing?
