    Hey Andy. Thanks for the detailed review. Got couple of questions here?
    1. Would you recommend the rosewood or maple fretboard version?
    2. I did notice that you had detached the tremolo arm. How's the tuning stability when used along with it?
    Many thanks!

    • @AndyHillier
      @AndyHillier  4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Hi, fretboard Wood is a personal preference. I prefer rosewood. The tremolo on most guitar apart from Floyd Rose and other high end companies don’t stay in tune that well. So I take it off. It’s ok if you want just a bit of tremolo but not dive bombs etc. Hope this helps.

    Hi, I’ve never played guitar before but I’m really interested in the Pacifica 112v, is that a good guitar for a beginner? And what’s the most-have gear that I will need?

    • @AndyHillier
      @AndyHillier  3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      The Yamaha 112v is the perfect beginner guitar. You will need a guitar amp a lead as well.

    Hey, love your videos....I'm torn between the yamaha pacifica 212v and the squier classic vibes 70s with a humbucker in the bridge position, which one do you think is better? If you could advise me on one of them, I would be grateful. xD

    Hi Andy,
    I'm thinking of getting this one, what's the difference between this and say 212V? Why is this considered a starter guitar? Thanks!

    • @AndyHillier
      @AndyHillier  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The 212v just has a colour matched headstock and a flames maple top.

    • @AndyHillier
      @AndyHillier  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      They are great guitars I would not advise the 012 but anything from 112 up would be great. The 311H is an awesome guitar.

    Starter guitar...they're much better than that. I'd be interested to hear if some professional guitarists actually record with them.
    With all the gear in a professional recording studio I bet you couldn't tell if it was a 2022 Fender Stratocaster or a 2022 Yamaha Pacifica 112V.

    • @AndyHillier
      @AndyHillier  ปีที่แล้ว

      I do agree. They are great guitars. I play mine nearly everyday. The difference in sound between a Yamaha Pacifica and a fender Strat is small but it does sound different.

    Hi, I want to buy this guitar but I don't want a huge amp so I want to buy the Fender Mustang Micro, but I am not sure it is the perfect choice for this guitar. What do you think, is it compatible with one another? Will it sound good? P.S. I am a noob, thank you!

    • @AndyHillier
      @AndyHillier  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yep it's a perfect choice. You can use any electric guitar with any amp. You can't go wrong with a pacifica 112 guitar.

    Hi Andy! Thank you for sharing this review. I have a quick question. Would your recommend the Yamaha 112j or the 112V for a beginner electric guitar player? Also is the bridge a floyd rose ?

    • @AndyHillier
      @AndyHillier  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No they are not floyd rose bridge. I am not a fan of floyd rose bridges. The 112v is slightly better but both are great.

    Why are they always beginner guitars?, Early Fenders we’re just mass produced guitars where instead of re-fretting when the frets were worn just change the neck. The Japanese always perfect things that why their motor bikes, cars, you name are always superior to others, the rest just rely on nostalgia and snob value reflected in the extortionate price. Wrap a piece of wire around a magnet and sell it for a dollar, put Seymour Duncan on it and ask 100 dollars and the guy thinks it’s a bargain. I have a few Yamaha’s and never found anything wrong with them, but you can find plenty wrong with the high end guitars but maybe you don’t like to feel cheated.

    • @davesultan5230
      @davesultan5230 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This one for sure, just got mine today after hearing the difference between those 2. Pacifica sound 10x better than squier affinity cause they use alnico pickups, basically a squier model that use alnico pickups are the Classic vibe series and CV usually cost around $400 or 300 quid, pacifica in the other hand only cost $200.I suggest that you get pacifica if your goal is to practice and jam, and if you wanna get the classic vibe series I suggest you to save up a bit more and get the fender player series. At the end of the day fender brand is always better in people’s eye than a squier. Hope this help!

    rosewood needs no oil, only play, let alone olive or lemon..., someone once said: the grease(oil) from fingertips is enough for rosewood fingerboard, extensive fingrboard oilage may create fret loosage, rose, wood.....isnt there olive gardens and lemon trees, rose,wood, maple ,neck... I hope you dont treat your Fender Strat with same ointments---
