*CORRECTION* 1:43 - I meant to say "Hopsin's girlfriend said he assaulted her" Probably a bit of an unpopular opinion here, but I hope you enjoyed! I'll hopefully have my review for No Shame up soon. I've got a special video coming tomorrow, I haven't even been meaning to upload this much, but there's so much I've wanted to speak on recently! Enjoy
COMPLETELY disagree with you for the first time. When Eminem makes a song like Kim or Cleaning Out My Closet, everyone praises him and loves it but when Hop makes a track like this, everyone suddenly gets all mad and says hes being "disrespectful"... No its not. Imagine if u were with a gf for a few years and then she cheated on you, accused you of beating her, and then preventing you from seeing her son for something you never did... Yea id be pretty pissed too and would defiantly take shots at her. Hes not being "petty" hes being real and speaking his mind, rightfully so.
+tommy bawse yeah I'd definitely be pissed off at her, but I personally wouldn't feel right about bringing the kid into it and essentially using him to diss her. That's what I don't like about
Thats understandable, but i wouldn't quite say hes using the kid to "diss her". Although i get what your saying, put yourself through the kids perspective, the mom is probably going to talk shit about his real dad (AKA Hopsin) and brainwash him into thinking that hes a terrible and abusive monster. This song is pretty much preparing the kid when hes older to know the truth that none of the things his mom told him about Hop is true. And again, the bitch Hop was with played him. And he has to suffer all of the repercussions by himself. He has a right to expose her, and that entire situation pretty much happened because of the kid... Thats where most of their problems started... So by bringing the kid into the song, maybe it'll help open her eyes a lot more about what she did. Not to mention Hop could always do what Em did with Cleaning Out My Closet and Headlights, where Em apologizes in one song about the things he said about a person in a previous song.
Da Bossman bu she claims he beat her and shit that should automatically sentence her to years in prison she trier to ruin him cause beating a women is more years in prison then lying about someone beating you
I'm not gonna lie, some of the lines in the song are questionable. But to me, this is a return to form for Hop. People say he's corny but I don't think this is corny at all. The storytelling was incredible and the message gave me chills. I gotta disagree with you on this one
Sorry but I have to respectfully disagree. I think of this song like a lighter version of Kim, a song I really liked. You don’t know the emotional pain that Hopsin must have gone though. Having a kin and not even being able to see it! That would take a toll on anyone, and the most natural response is anger. I like your videos but I have to rate this one a 4/10
+Jake the baller I will agree with the fact that I don't understand how it feels to not see your kid, but he's kinda potentially hurting his kid's future with it imo
Well in the end of the day whether it hurts the kid or not, The mother will have her influence against him pretty much like every other divorce couple who takes advantage. Try to be in his shoes and perhaps you would have a different point of view, mate Eminem's songs towards Kim has always sounded more extreme than what you are seeing in the music video. People loved listening to it too.
Mother is ruining his future equally if not more in my opinion, the kid isn’t gonna grow up with a proper father figure if this girl is gonna be fucking more than one guy

What he means is he shouldn't have waited for all the shit to happen and take his kid earlier than later , and the fact that you say that some of the shit is unnecessary is very vague because if you put yourself in the same position you might have done the same thing, I'm not a big fan of the track itself but he made that up with the rest of his ablum because if you want to get Tactical, the majority of the ablum is a I'll mind to be honest but I get where your coming from

G .F17 I think that's the type of lines that people refer to when they call him corny. I'm sorta a fan, more one when I was younger but now I can definitely agree. Hopsin can be really fucking corny.
The way Hopsin flows on the verses in this song is reminiscent of the way Eminem flows on '97 Bonnie and Clyde' from the Slim Shady LP. The subject matter is similar also, cause EM is talking to his daughter Haley about her mother Kim. Overall I like the song, just feel like it was out of place for an Ill Mind of..
You have to remember the context is wich the message is givin.. "ILL mind" not Correct or happy mind.. ILL . So from the jump he's saying his thoughts are ducked up or "ill" which means sick or diseased.
Tyler Dunker I agree. It CAN mean dope, but Hopsin has a history of portraying mental illness, calling himself retarded, and just struggling with his existence in general. I can't say anyones opinion is wrong, but I feel like this guy isn't fully capable of putting himself in the shoes of someone who is dealing with A LOT of traumatic moments all at once. The issues go beyond a song and what's wrong or right. She cheated on him and broke his heart (go watch his Valentines Day song video for her on his channel if it's still up), she made him out to be abusive, completely ruined one of, if not his favorite country where he openly stated in Knock Madness he was gonna move to when he settled down, and now she won't let the man see HIS SON. If you don't have a kid then you can't even begin to imagine what that feels like. And all of that doesn't even begin to cover seeing his platform that he spent years building, collapse and losing some friendships in the process. The man needed to vent, shock factor has always been part of the appeal to Hopsin. Like everyone else has pointed out, this is no different from and Eminem song.
The biggest fans of an artist are also their biggest critics. That's how I feel about it. You did a good job at bringing your message home. Keep it up doe! Looking forward to.... You know ;)
Nearly 1000k my man, keep the good content coming pal. Keep this channel going the way you have and you'll smash it sooner or later. When Eminem drops his album get ya self reviewing it asap and you'll get ya self a shit loads of subscribers if ya content is dope too.
You got some good points that I didn't realize at first listen. I guess I was to excited when I first played it to understand how detrimental it could be to his boy.
Normally I agree with you most of the time, but I don’t on this one. Music in general is a great avenue to express your emotions especially in rap music. Hip hop has always been a very raw and uncensored genre of music and whether or not you agree with the message or not, you gotta remember that this is raw, unbridled hip hop with no filter and isn’t suppose to make everyone like him. He is just speaking on a subject that he is passionate about in the way he sees fit which is the heart and soul of the Ill mind series
I enjoyed it for the fact that he poured his heart into this song, that's the point of his ILL MIND's, to use absolutely every ounce of emotion he can, to show exactly how he feels about a point. And he does it the way he wants to, no matter the critics
As for my opinion on the song, on first listen it made me cry but I slowly started listening to it over and over then I realized the instrumental and visuals is what made me cry. I agree with what you said about it seems cheap. I was very excited for this song but it just shot down my hopes.
I appreciate this video a lot. Seriously we didn't realllly like No Shame for a lot of the same ethical reasons you bring up. Anyhow look forward to your No Shame review (not sure if it's up). Feel free to check ours if you have time.
I see your point and I gotta admit that insulting his ex and her parents may not be good for the child in the future but it shouldn't be our problem. I mean, he is an artist and this is how he expresses himself in that situation, if we started judging songs by their moral attitiude we wouldn't be able to enjoy (for example) most of Eminem's tracks. I find 9th lit asf. peace!
Eminem does this in plenty of songs where he disses Kim and directs it to Hailie. Kim, Bonnie and Clyde '97, Hailie's Song and, correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you like those?
Imagine how its going at the house when the kid gets older. most likely the mom is going to prevent the kid from listening t that song and he'll probably listen to it in like middle school or something, so the kid wont know any of it (assuming the Hopsin doesnt get approved to see hi or anything, and even so, i think the mom will be extremely observant on whats going on). most likely the mother is going to be saying to the child "Youre dad left us" or something like that and make him seem like the bad guy, Hop is just trying to make sure that down the line the kid will understand eventually that he isnt there because of her and that she cheated on him and stuff. Imagine you where in his position, he didnt make this song for the money or anything like that, he made it to get the massege out that he loves the kid and the mom was a liar and a other things along those lines. You can imagine how hard it was for him to come up with all the lyrics that gets all of his points across and his emotions out so somethings might be bad but what would you expect from being in that situation.
To be fair though hopsin is probably extremely pissed off still. The first song on the album details everything that happened and I think he really wants to see his kid. Any father that is unable to see their kid after the shit their ex put them through would have felt the same things. Hell I remember a story where a guy lost custody of his kids and it left him so heartbroken that he killed himself.
So many rappers dig into people. Early Eminem wrote Kim and his daughter can listen to it everyday of her life. Joyner wrote a song about wishing his wife had gotten an abortion and his thoughts about his kid. This is Hopsin's personal rendition of what he's going through and I feel that with time his son will realize what kind of spot he was in back when he listens to this when he's older.
1. Wouldnt you be mad if your wife falsely accused you of beating her 2. He said he wished she aborted because itd be easier on THE CHILD, not Hopsin 3. The track was both about the child and why he couldnt see his kid, and the reason why he couldnt see his kid was because of his ex and her fucked up shit.
I do agree with what ur saying to a certain degree and I completely understand where ur coming from. But the whole point of the ill mind series is to venture into his mind. This is what was going on in his head at the time of writing this song and when he was going through it. I'm not even a big hopsin fan at all but this song definitely resonated with me because it gave a lot of insight into how his mind works and how he deals with the things that effect him, and he stays true to that no matter how fucked up he may come across.
The song gave me that Ill mind vibe... all that matters imo, Although he could've handled it better, I think hopsin just wanted to let his raw emotion out, that's what an Ill mind is for. I don't think it'll affect the child negatively honestly and we really did need to know what exactly happened with him and his ex, and how he really feels about it
The line about the abortion isn't about how Hopsin's life would be easier it's about they shouldn't have brought a kid in this world just to cause it this much pain and confusion. I think that's what later lines elude to. The songs supposed to be raw, hurt, and emotionally grey. He later in the song admits that what he's doing is petty and only to satisfy him for the pain he's feeling.
I think Hopsin fans are just disliking the video without watching it because of thumbnail. I'm also a supporter of hopsin and I 100% agree with what you said. I'm a bit disappointed that i didn't enjoy this 'ILL MIND' like the past ones. Anyway i like your videos, keep it up!
Coming from that broken home, that song actually really makes me feel. I am a hardcore metalhead, 80's thrash all the way! but this song still gets a great message across, I can understand how it feels like a bit of a diss track using his son for it, but even still thats to be expected, he's a frustrated father who for all he knows will never see his child again, of course hes gonna let out some things that are bit more coarse and unrefined. At least now the child can have two sides to the story and maybe one day when he's old enough he can really sit back and think about it and wonder if his mother was really that great of a mother anyway. Thats just my 2 cents anyway
Telling his kid to hate his mom, that she’s a fake bitch and saying his grandparents are racist was a bit unnecessary but I really like this kind of aggression and saying things that show you’re not morally correct or a perfect person
The thing is, there will always be two sides of the story. Even if Hop dissed this kid's mom in a song that becomes really popular, the kid is likely going to grow up with his mother talking about Hop the same way. And judging by what we've heard from Hop he is in the right in this situation, giving him more of a right to insult her. Plus all he did was insult her in a handful of songs, while she has made false accusations of him beating her, managed to get him banned from the country, and stop him from meeting his own son.
Perfect video perfect song feels real and wow one you know for a fact already dragging your name and character with him already so he doing the same thing out of pain right
I agree with the part about he being talking to his child about hating his mother, but this Ill Mind of Hopsin is completly different than the others. The others were supposed to be Singles, and are mostly seperated from the rest of the albums. This one is just another song in a album that happens to be titled Ill Mind of Hopsin. If it had any other name people would be all over it because it fits really well in the album
The thing is he's not really telling his kid to hate his mother, has telling him how much he hates her himself but still some lines are kinda fucked up
The problem with wanting the kid to hate his mother is that the kid will wind up hating all women growing up. So, I'm at least glad this is just Hopsin being therapeutic.
Until you have a kid with someone who prevents you from seeing your own child, I don’t think I would comment on the situation. This song relates to A LOT of guys
Look dude, you cannot call a dude "petty" if he has a ton of built up hate for someone who won't let him see HIS KID! His child is basically his whole life, he better be the most petty person on Earth for what she did to him. His kid BETTER know that the only reason they have a broken family is because of her!
The reason he says he wishes she aborted is actually because he doesnt want his son to suffer growing up without a father figure in his life because ultimately that can ruin your whole life and he doesnt want him to suffer like that.
He is explaining to his child why he doesnt see him. And knowing the situation, there is absolutely no way to even explain this situation without throwing shade at his mother. She basically fucked him over and decided that he wouldnt be part of the child's life for no reason at all. While he does drop disses to his ex in the song, it is nothing more than an explanation of why he cant see him and cant have a relationship with him.
I know that u would have liked it more if it was about him not being able to see his child. But I'll mind if hopsin is about him saying exactly how he feels regardless of how harsh it is
In the end though, this song is a clear diss track hidden behind his child and controversial lyrics have always been a major part of lyricists like hopsins music, and the song itself has well thought out and delivered lyrics, if ones that may have a negative effect
Dont ever try to judge something youve never experienced for yourself. I can only imagine what hes going through based on that story. Im sure if what happened to him, happened to you. Youd be feeling like every word he said couldnt of been said better.
To me, this song is quite great. I have to agree with you that certain lyrics might not help his case or might not be the best ever written, but what I like about Hopsin and this song is that it's real and relatable. When Hopsin says something that you take as not helping the case, I take it as a man shouting in agony, I can feel the emotion in the lyrics. Hell, I've said stuff I regret after the fact. So yes, it might not be the most lyrical or technical song, but its a very real song, like in many of hopsins songs. And thats why I like this song ;)
You're missing something in his line about abortion. It isn't about Hop's problem but about the hell Zane will have to go through because of all their drama.
I think its a good track but i feel like it belongs on his album. Its just not ill mind material imo. Btw damn you got this video out quick. Great video!
Nice ClapBack... but what I think is that since its a Ill Mind song it cant not be a single, especially this long in the series, also IK everyones throwing the whole Eminem thing at you but... seriously did you ever actually truly care when Em was screaming about murdering Haileys mom, you could come back saying you've thought about it but you never really cared, ALSO hes literally talking to his son half way across the world that he might never meet until the kids in his grown up years... like you don't truly know what hes going through, I understand its your opinion and such and I respect that and this is my opinion, I think the song is 10/10 (edit) also hop is way more stable in this song then em would ever be in the early 2000s and honestly I give him props for that
Zax11 i was saying i dont think the song shouldve been an ill mind, i think it shouldve been a normal album track. Btw Hop may be more stable in this that Em was on Kim, 97 Bonnie and Clyde, etc. but he still basically directly told his son he wished he had been aborted... its fucked up no matter how stable the delivery may sound
I understand that and respect your opinion, but the line about abortion wasn't saying he wished he aborted him atleast I think it was about him talking in another perspective of if he did not have him
I think to get some background of this song listen to hotel in Sydney. It tells the story from his side about what happened. He was told that she had pictures of her in bed with her personal trainer which also raised suspicions even if the kid is his, he had proposed to her with a 20k ring and found out she had been working at a strip club and it got heated that she wouldn't tell him where this is. In his version of events he threw her purse across the room and pushed her on the bed and due to this he was arrested for assaulting her, this means that he was deported and it will no longer be possible for him to get a visa to Australia to be able to be in his kids life. Anyone that knows anything about visas knows that this means he may never be granted the right to step foot in Australia again. So I understand the bitterness and helplessness of feeling betrayed by the woman that you loved and trusted and powerless to ever be in your kids life. It's a hurtful thought that this woman may now be with another man letting him play daddy while you're completely cut off. They can try to rewrite history and the kid may never know who his real dad is, just wipe hopsins existence of their life out. I don't think the aborted line was in anyway aimed at the child but more the on going struggle he will have with this emotionally for the rest of his life now due to this situation and maybe the believe that his son will be born into a lot of hurt and confusion. Personally I liked the song but think there's a lot to understand to get the song.
You have to look at this song from his point of view. While I don't condone of the message in the song, I get it. It's hard not to be petty when someone you love destroys your idea of a family with them. He's hurt and this song is powerful and impactful for a lot of other people who've been through similar situations. I get it that it is your opinion but calling it trash then saying your going to have the song on repeat makes you're opinion invalid and inconsistent.
I disagree because of how his gf made him unable to see his son. She falsely accused him of assault sending him to jail, getting him banned from the country, and not being able to see his son for something he didn’t even do
I see wym about the song being about turning the kid against his mom and how using the kid as a way to diss his ex. But personally I like the song. I don't like it as much as ill 5 or 7 or even 8 but it's probably my 5th favorite overall just because he's talking about something that's super personal to him. Plus I guess I've just gotten use to hopsin being the way he is about never taking the blame so I don't hate it as much as I would. But overall I give it a 7/10
I agree with some points you made but I don't think the lyricism is too morally wrong or anything, just since I believe the song is a lot of him spelling his emotions into a track. I hope the whole situation doesn't affect his son too much
Mate it’s music... the beauty of music is that you can express yourself in whatever way you want! If he wants to speak out about somethings going on his life then that’s for him to do.
He addresses this whole situation a lot better on the first track of the album. I think Ill Mind 9 was more just him getting all his aggression out. Baby mama drama sucks so I can't really be mad at him for being pissed.

Fair enough
CDTVProductions ILL MIND MEANS ILL AS IN ILL NOT DOPE.
If you listen to Hotel In Sydney, the Story makes more sense
+Empxct I did, I think that song should be Ill Mind 9 tbh
hotel in Sydney shouldve been ill mind 9
every hopsin song is sick until you hear The chorus
Idk why hop gets so much hate lol
Eren Nazir He's conscious without being introspective. In other words, self glorifying.
Halie grew up fine and eminem raps about murdering his wife while she sits in the booster seat of the car
I got a 97 bonnie and clyde by eminem type of vibe. Eminem did the same thing and nobody complained
Damn good point
Sorry man I dont have you on this one, but in general I love your channel.
the song sounded almost exactly like 95 bonnie and clyde by eminem... (EDIT: *97 I have no fucking idea why I put 95)
The biggest fans of an artist are also their biggest critics. That's how I feel about it. You did a good job at bringing your message home. Keep it up doe! Looking forward to.... You know ;)
+Tyler Shaina thank you man, I'm glad you understand it!
This is just your opinion. There is no problem with ill mind of hopsi ln 9. You should change the title before more hate comes.
And how he handled it was fine. He said "i know you dont know what it all means" this is just hopsins way of saying. Ur mother is what she is
+Pathogenic I don't need to change the title, people should know it's just my opinion
CDTVProductions true. Btw so close to 100k.. Congrats
+Pathogenic thank you man, I can't wait to hit that mark!!
and that isisnt an opinion you have a picture to go with it that states something as a fact
This song has a awesome story to it and the bars are fire
hops kid finna be at school and hear “ your dads corny af boyyy”

100K SUBS!!! Been a sub since 10k, keep up the good work!
Hey CDTV Productions, what about all the songs Eminem wrote for Hailey? What's your veiws on that?
Glad you made a vid for this💯💯
Nearly 1000k my man, keep the good content coming pal. Keep this channel going the way you have and you'll smash it sooner or later. When Eminem drops his album get ya self reviewing it asap and you'll get ya self a shit loads of subscribers if ya content is dope too.
I expected this as soon as I read your comment on the first song of his new album and I gotta say I totally agree with you.
Congrats on 100k
This is a very impressive video liked the song but you just showed me somethings that i missed alot thanks man.
+Mom spaghetti no problem man! I appreciate that you enjoyed this video even though you liked the song
You got some good points that I didn't realize at first listen. I guess I was to excited when I first played it to understand how detrimental it could be to his boy.
This is the vid that lead me to your legendary channel
Normally I agree with you most of the time, but I don’t on this one. Music in general is a great avenue to express your emotions especially in rap music. Hip hop has always been a very raw and uncensored genre of music and whether or not you agree with the message or not, you gotta remember that this is raw, unbridled hip hop with no filter and isn’t suppose to make everyone like him. He is just speaking on a subject that he is passionate about in the way he sees fit which is the heart and soul of the Ill mind series
You clearly have never had a baby momma fam lmao
+King Malone if this is what it's like, I don't want one 😂
Carlos carlos damn you want something to wash away that salt?
Ayy!! 100k boiii!!
Finally made it man!!
I enjoyed it for the fact that he poured his heart into this song, that's the point of his ILL MIND's, to use absolutely every ounce of emotion he can, to show exactly how he feels about a point. And he does it the way he wants to, no matter the critics
Congratulations on 100k my man
Thank you man! Can't believe we did it!
CDTVProductions big fan of the channel man I like what your doing here
As for my opinion on the song, on first listen it made me cry but I slowly started listening to it over and over then I realized the instrumental and visuals is what made me cry. I agree with what you said about it seems cheap. I was very excited for this song but it just shot down my hopes.
I wish I could have my nearly 7 1/2 minutes back.
Well I'm afraid you can't
CDTVProductions I hope you lose your car keys, and are late to something important.
Ouch
*7 1/4
you should do a video of the top 10 most lyrical rappers youve heard
Ayeeeee you’re gonna get 100k today
+Davis Joyner I hope so man! We're so damn close!
Can you please do a top 10 rappers of all time list?
Ayy 100k
I appreciate this video a lot. Seriously we didn't realllly like No Shame for a lot of the same ethical reasons you bring up. Anyhow look forward to your No Shame review (not sure if it's up). Feel free to check ours if you have time.
would you be able to review folk like Oakzy B, Lugzy, Amense. that would be great for some of us neds
I loved it...
Can you makes an video about fanboyism?
Mozart Mozart I second this
So many rappers dig into people.
As a 100K subscriber special. Could you take off your hat for your next video
1. Wouldnt you be mad if your wife falsely accused you of beating her
2. He said he wished she aborted because itd be easier on THE CHILD, not Hopsin
I'm not even a big hopsin fan at all but this song definitely resonated with me because it gave a lot of insight into how his mind works and how he deals with the things that effect him, and he stays true to that no matter how fucked up he may come across.
can you do top 10 fastest hopsin verses please
I think hotel in Sydney should of been I'll mind 9
The song gave me that Ill mind vibe... all that matters imo, Although he could've handled it better, I think hopsin just wanted to let his raw emotion out, that's what an Ill mind is for. I don't think it'll affect the child negatively honestly and we really did need to know what exactly happened with him and his ex, and how he really feels about it
Yes, another banger is out
The line about the abortion isn't about how Hopsin's life would be easier it's about they shouldn't have brought a kid in this world just to cause it this much pain and confusion.
+Henry Peou thanks man! Yeah people can get irrational when they see videos like this haha, but I'll keep the vids coming!
This song relates to A LOT of guys
he should have kept it strictly about predicting a life with his son rather than aiming for her real talk
The fact that he put this out despite his sadness and mistreatment coming from his kids mom, is why the lyrics seem rushed.
Another thing is you can appreciate this song and its message when you’ve gone thru ur own experience similar to this
I know that u would have liked it more if it was about him not being able to see his child.
Personaly I feel like hes just venting his feelings in the song
The second half of the hook is my favourite part.
I love the harmonies.
Different strokes for different folks.
wtf it was amazing
+GucciGameNc I didn't like it that much tbh, but that's opinions
i was being sarcastic lol it wasnt amazing but i did like the song
i think 8 was the best ill mind and after that is 5
To me, this song is quite great.
Handled perfectly. It’s his own personal situation no one can really understand and he put it in his OWN words. You can’t shit on that AT ALL
You're missing something in his line about abortion. It isn't about Hop's problem but about the hell Zane will have to go through because of all their drama.
I think its a good track but i feel like it belongs on his album. Its just not ill mind material imo. Btw damn you got this video out quick. Great video!
it was on the album dummie
+Zax11 what he means is that he shouldn't have released it as a single. Dummie.
Hopsin wasnt saying that his own life would be easier with an abortion but that if the child was aborted then the child wouldnt have to go thru this
2:18 this is essentially what Eminem’s entire discography is.
Basically he's telling his child in the most brutal way possible "ur mum gay". This'd explain why he suddenly uses trap beats unironically.
+Peanut Butter Pikachu "ur mum gay" 😂 Idk why that made me laugh so much
You have to look at this song from his point of view.
It doesn't make my opinion invalid, in gonna listen to it just cause it's Hopsin but I don't like it
I disagree because of how his gf made him unable to see his son.
But overall I give it a 7/10
Can you rank the album like with Kendrick Lamars DAMN
I agree with some points you made but I don't think the lyricism is too morally wrong or anything, just since I believe the song is a lot of him spelling his emotions into a track. I hope the whole situation doesn't affect his son too much
Mate it’s music... the beauty of music is that you can express yourself in whatever way you want! If he wants to speak out about somethings going on his life then that’s for him to do.
I agree and I am going to still listen to it again
He addresses this whole situation a lot better on the first track of the album. I think Ill Mind 9 was more just him getting all his aggression out. Baby mama drama sucks so I can't really be mad at him for being pissed.
I have nothing much to say but jst to DISAGREE with u ma brother.
