if we want to talk about verses on Fall Out Boy songs I have to talk about Big Sean on "The Mighty Fall" because the entire song is talking about how bitter the singer is about their ex, the toxic co-dependency, regrets, etc etc (classic Fall Out Boy stuff) and then the Big Sean verse hits and he starts talking about how much he misses his ex and how they're connected on a deeper level and whatever. It always felt a little weird to me, I'm not sure if it's the best example tho. "I'm either fucking or working so the grind don't stop" is an all-timer though, makes me laugh every time, gotta get some enjoyment out of it
This was cool to find someone talking about this. I used to point out all the time that rappers got off topic, even on their own songs, haha. I don't remember what songs cuz these were when i was like 11 to 14 years old, so, a long time ago. But rappers often couldn't help but rap about being rich and being the best haha.
I'M ON ONE by Future & Drake is a good example of this because Future's rapping about violence and not trying to catch a Rico, while Drake's rapping about sex and being his girl's bestie
Rick Ross in “New Flame” I always found hilarious as the song is about embracing a new relationship from Chris Brown and Usher just for Ross to come in and be like “I only hit once” and flaunting
Honestly I think Wiz Kalifa’s verse is perfect for that song because it goes from a heartbreak that kills you to being like “at bitch, I moved on and am happier without you now” and that’s how things go. So I actually like it.
"i saw them eyes like an ass r4per" 😂😂i completely forgot about this verse, Eminem rapping about klan posters a can opener and a bolt bolt cutter with a rubber piano and a flannell etc.
Easy pick here being SZA’s verse on Kiss Me More by Doja Cat. The song is about Doja wanting to snuggle up with her partner after a good night of sex. SZA’s verse is about how much she hated sex with her partner and now wants nothing to do with him.
Firstly good idea for a series. My pick would be the verse from Rich Homie on Save Dat Money by Lil Dicky, it was 100% intentionally off topic but the execution is still one of my favourite examples of the feature going off topic .
KSI's Down Like That is a prime example of contradictory verses, the chorus is literally about a breakup with a woman and the bitter feeling of betrayal. Ksi, Rick Ross, and lil baby jusy rap about random shit for the duration of their verses.
One of my favourite tweets is about G-Eazy’s feature on the remix of K-pop group Ateez’s song, WORK. He seems to throw shade at Halsey in it. “We’re talking about clocking in and he’s over here harassing his ex.”
Desiigner on Mic drop remix definitely is what I thought of. Maybe not the worst example as some bits of the verse are related but still always confuses me
Rick Ross's verse on Accident Murderers by Nas is the first song that came to mind when I read the title of this video. Rozay said his usual braggadocious bullshit on a song about how people got killed by accident in a shootout.
I nominate "Daydreaming" by Tatiana Ali ft. Lord Tariq and Peter Gunz. The song is about daydreaming about a potential lover. Lord Tariq verse is about how Tatiana Ali is on Freah Prince and Peter Gunz verse is about how the song came about.....i mean that literally he raps about how he heard one of her songs and asked to be on it, flew out to LA and recorded a verse.
Central Cee ruined "Nice To Meet You". Pinkpantheress is singing about loving her man... and Central Cee raps about cheating on his girl. What a wayse of a fun and cute beat.
Same with Priceless by Ty Brasel ft Foggieraw. Ty is rapping about how much his girl means to him, and how he would spoil her. Foggie comes in a just whines about how his girl is with another man that is just bad for her. Like, geez, can you BE more tonedeaf?
I think somebody requested this video on the paid request stream and CDTV wrote down the idea of the video. Paid request stream every monday(be there if you want).
I’ve only ever heard of the Rick Ross remix a few times, and always with people talking about how poorly it fits the original song. Out of all these examples, I think it’s the worst offender, because it’s not like Rick would add anything to a song like that, and it comes from someone who specifically does no features on their “actual” songs.
I was so certain young thugs verse on post malones "no good at goodbyes" would be on here. He literally ruins the entire song by being so insanely off topic with lyrics like: "I'm tryna cut you, no knife I wanna slice you and dice you My heart get possessive, it got you precise Can you not turn off the TV? I'm watchin' the fight" Keep in mind all this on a song about someone not liking or handling goodbyes well.
I know most people reading this wouldn't know the song MIC DROP by BTS but my lord is Desiigner's feature a perfect example of this. The song is about BTS' success and a "screw you" to their haters, but Desiigner's rap features bars like "She like Apple Jack, I like apple sauce". BROTHER WHAT ARE YOU YAPPING ABOUT?!?! Not to mention his feature replaces 2 incredible rap verses from 2 members of the group.
my favourite examples for this are - corpse/night lovell - "HOT DEMON B!TCHES NEAR U !!!". corpse raps about, well, hot demon girls. night lovell meanwhile goes "P 9 0 aim straight for your head". - city morgue/denzel curry - "DRAINO". zillakami goes "can't cry now but can self-medicate", curry later goes "i might have it all, but half of the time i just feel insignificant". inbetween that is sosmula going "HITTING MY CHAIN I GO VROOM VROOM".
Juice WRLD - Smile (ft The Weekend) In my opinion The Weekend's part destroyed the song and went completely the opposite way that Juice WRLD wanted the song to be.
Red by IDK shouldve been on here lmao. 3 features (mf doom, westside gunn, jay electronica) on the song and NONE OF THEM talk about what IDK was talking about
This whole topic reminds me of the Korean group Monsta X that made an English song "Who Did You Love" featuring French Montana and it makes no damn sense in relation to the song especially when he goes "now the beef cookin like Gordon Ramsey" 😂
Yelawolf’s verse on Pretty Little Girl by Blink-182 feels super out of place. The song is about how a couple grows up together, making a family, struggling but ultimately getting through their difficulties. Then Yelawolf comes in talking about being the victim of an emotionally abusive relationship and how his past was hard.
One of my favorite examples of this though it's not technically a feature that always makes me laugh with how off topic it is, is one of the Outlaws on "All About U". Pac and most of the Outlaws are on the song talking all about women and groupies with Nate on the hook smooth as hell. Then this one particular Outlaw just comes out of nowhere with "You couldn't hold me back, it'd take a fatter track A lyrical attack, perhaps" Like oh ok sure just interrupt the sex song with some backpack bars I guess.

Isn't the most famous one Jay-Z on Monster? A song about fame and the problems that come from it and he just starts listing off monsters
I was just about to comment this
2 more songs that i think would fit would be: My Love by Justin Timberlake ft. TI
and 2012 by Jay Sean ft. Nicki Minaj
Jay Sean has a song call 2012.This song is about the apocalypse that was suppose to happen in december of 2012😂😂😂😂
Rick Ross's verse on Accident Murderers by Nas is the first song that came to mind when I read the title of this video. Rozay said his usual braggadocious bullshit on a song about how people got killed by accident in a shootout.
10:23 this verse never fails to crack me up bruh😭
TI on My Love by timberlake.
JT: “and there no woman who can take your spot my love”
TI: “I’ll fill your space then forget your face I swear i will”
The title description perfectly encapsulates the thought process of the feature staying on topic.
I literally saw a tweet that professed this exact thing a week ago... nice that you made a video on it lol
I think somebody requested this video on the paid request stream and CDTV wrote down the idea of the video.
Paid request stream every monday(be there if you want).
IM SO GLAD SPACEGHOSTPUSSY IS GETTING SOME ATTENTION IN THIS VIDEO WHAT A GOOD SONG
Real shit
coworkers gave me dirty looks throughout this video from how hard i was laughing. this is easily your best video
My Love by Justin Timberlake featuring T.I.
Kanye on THat Part haunts me. No idea if the song has a meaning but "OK OK OK OK OK OK!" Both confused me and had me dying😂
Goat video. Part 2 asapppppp
I was so certain young thugs verse on post malones "no good at goodbyes" would be on here. He literally ruins the entire song by being so insanely off topic with lyrics like:
"I'm tryna cut you, no knife
I wanna slice you and dice you
My heart get possessive, it got you precise
Can you not turn off the TV? I'm watchin' the fight"
Keep in mind all this on a song about someone not liking or handling goodbyes well.
It’s so funny how bad the Lil Wayne feature on Arms Race when his other feature with FOB is one of my favorites
my favourite examples for this are
- corpse/night lovell - "HOT DEMON B!TCHES NEAR U !!!". corpse raps about, well, hot demon girls. night lovell meanwhile goes "P 9 0 aim straight for your head".
You should do band and rapper collaborations
What on earth I’ve never known Royals by Lorde has a remix with Wale and Rick Ross
Juice WRLD - Smile (ft The Weekend)
In my opinion The Weekend's part destroyed the song and went completely the opposite way that Juice WRLD wanted the song to be.
I will never approve of speaking bad on No Favors
You forgot LostOfficial & Yuno Miles - I'll Be There
Good news there’s a fall out boy album called make America psycho again which is just all rap features
That’ sounds terrible
@spoodyR3 in my opinion it doesn't
🎵🎵I'm CDTVProductions, don't know how to make a bad video 🎶🎶
We gonna talk about Tyga on Collide? ✨🤣😭🤣✨ Some of these features be feeling like “Who invited you?”✨💀✨
Wiz Khalifa's jumpscare was absolutely priceless! 😂
I smell caterpillar remix being on here from a mile away Right?
Every artist in this video said "Man f*ck that sh!t"
One of my favorite examples of this though it's not technically a feature that always makes me laugh with how off topic it is, is one of the Outlaws on "All About U". Pac and most of the Outlaws are on the song talking all about women and groupies with Nate on the hook smooth as hell. Then this one particular Outlaw just comes out of nowhere with "You couldn't hold me back, it'd take a fatter track
A lyrical attack, perhaps" Like oh ok sure just interrupt the sex song with some backpack bars I guess.
Good one
We Need a part 2
Now we need "Rap songs that go off topic"
Im sure you know this but there is an entire album of rap remixes to fall out boy by them
