I would love to see how you create these, what your thought process is, some early drafts, etc. I know it would be more work, but I'm confident many others would enjoy it too. Great work, stunning graphics and audio.
Early 2000s (2000 - 2002 from Jazz’s Super Mario World hack to The Second Reality Project 1 excluding the definitive Reloaded version) to late 2010s (from The 7th Annual Vanilla Level Design Contest to beyond).
some of the best SNES spritework I’ve ever seen! amazing job! all the cool gimmicks like the gem gate and warp portals are cool too! I also love the idea of recreating the enemy encounters from SMB3
This is so cool! It almost doesn't even look like it's made out of 8x8 tiles. Oh wait, just spotted in the description that this map was "drawn off-grid in aseprite". I guess this overworld shows the true power of pixel-arting an entire SMW overworld
Damn... Why those things are always out stand of each other, there is alot amazing overworld and level design contents, but there is not so alot of great adventure mario hacks, with cool levels and great overworld map designs... World 5 with portals is so cool idea, i would love to play that hack as full game
This overworld is very aesthetically pleasing! I really love all the unique details in every world, like the Chain Chomp, the big Pumpkin, the Gemstones, ect. Also, I was wondering what the theme of the final world is?
@@DundG I meant the music track used for the final world, but I can see how you thought I was talking about the visual theme. I could've worded my question a bit differently. It's fine, though. I found the name and origin of the music awhile ago.

damn this looks incredible, i hope it gets at least in the top 5
It really goes to show how far Super Mario World hacks including their maps have come since the late 2010s!
@@kieranstark7213 You mean the early 2000s?

That ice map 1:15 and sky map 2:56 looks so amazing!
And I also like that gemstone gate gimmick on 2:45
I keep coming back to this- but I had to bring up how awesome it is that the shadows are different in every submap. Crazy stuff ❤
Bro, this is WILD, damn
All of these worlds look delightful, but the progression of World 4 honestly makes it my favorite!
Damn there was so much effort and thought put into this one it's giving me inspiration
Please consider turning this into a full hack. Your work here is stellar.
You really need to make a game with those maps! For me, you deserved the first place!
This looks amazing. I like those enemy encounters in the lava world
You created a new art form - SMW Overworlds :)
extremely pretty! I love how the water looks
Wow, it is looking great! Can wait for a release of a game. Voting for you to win as well.
Amazing 😭💕

Wow. I love This. What Rom Hack Is It? And What Are You Gonna Call It? 😊❤
It's my entry for the overworld design contest from 2021. It won't be a full hack.
1:22 that song, I remember hearing it somewhere else, but I can't remember the name 😫
It's the snow world theme from New Super Mario Bros. Wii
@@stivisromhacksCould you tell me the name of World 2's overworld? It sounds nice.
@@legendsdontdie466 Classic Road II - Autumn
