I love seeing custom Super Mario World maps. Something about the SMW aesthetic and the way fans modify that aesthetic is very engaging. They're works of art. 3:03 Wow, I was not expecting that! Custom world maps keep surprising me.
Maybe because of how smooth and simple it is. SMB3 maps are simple, but not as smooth or detailed, so I really don't care about custom SMB3 maps. Maybe it's how they're connected overall or how people add in their own new level themes.
The SMW hacking community has certainly come a long way since 2002. This hack in particular exhibits features that I could only dream of. By far the best overworld I've ever seen!
this thing is just the masterpiece. there will never be anything more beautiful than this in the smwc community. id love to be teached by the ppl who worked on this.
They *ARE* vanilla. As long as the levels don't use any sort of material/graphics outside of SMW, it's technically considered vanilla. As for the main and submaps, since it is Vanilla *Level* Design Contest, they can do pretty much what they want with the overworld.
