I so agree on the B to B tuning this thing came with. So, my story with it. I was in my local store, just kinda browsing. In a mood for impulse buy. And I see this thing. I never had a baritone, but always wanted one. Knew about them pretty well. So I thought why not. It's not expensive. Grab it, start noodling in the store. And it feels AGONIZING to play. It comes with stock strings of 14 to 72. Yes, seventy two. It was stiff as you know what. Grab my phone, google some alternative baritone tunings(remember, at that point I'm still clueless?). Decide to just keep going lower in standard. Arrive at A standard. And it was night and day. Suddenly it's agreeable, soft, pleasant. The lower you go the more comfortable these become to play. And that's coming from somebody who often finds 12s on a strat in E standard perfectly fine. Gorgeous cleans for massive deep chords. Great for texture work. Great for chugs. I ended up buying it, and exploring it a bunch more. So, my recommendation is if you grab one to try in the store - forget about B to B. It'll ruin your impression of how good this can feel to play.
27 inch and 11-54 is perfect for B Standard, and feels the same as 9-42 on a 25.5 inch in Standard. I can't even imagine 72s on a 29.75 for B Standard. That would be way too stiff.
Super professional review and likely one of the best demos of the product with obviously hours and hours of preparation from a super talented musician. Well done!

Great video, helping me to make up my mind on picking the up today. I am looking at this and the PRS 277 both are great. 2 different animals I may pick up both.
This vid was a huge help. The only concern I have is the pups because I tend to use clean tones a lot with home recordings, but I think overall this guitar checks so many other boxes for me that I'm going to grab one. The scale length is a huge selling point for me, partly because I fuss over intonation more than most(also a consequence of recording with clean tones, because its harder to hide intonation imperfections). I'm also inclined to get it down to the octave E, if not F#, so I should get away with it. Otherwise, amazing job on the riffs/covers. Your recordings are very good.
I am absolutely set with my opinion about this specific baritone model; I love it. I'm thinking of getting one soon, but I have one concern. Are the pickups adjustable? I could heighten them to adjust the output level for more sustain if so. And by the way, your playing is absolutely phenomenal, and inspired me even more. Keep up the good work!
Thank you! The pickup height as stock is not adjustable (I had the same thought as you!). It would be a pretty easy job to glue some foam to the back of the pickups and therefore make the height adjustable but not sure why they haven't done this as stock like most manufacturers do!
Bought some Gotoh SG381 MG-T Magnum Lock 3-a-side machineheads and ditched the very small buttoned stock tuners (fitted by guitar tech Andy Bunn) - 100% improvement with an F#-B-E-A-D-G tuning. Played it for a year (in this tuning) with the standard tuners and it always hurt my fingers - fully recommended.
@@AdamTrain I have been trying so hard to find/make a preset to get my gretsch sounding as nice and filthy as I know it can but I haven't been fully successful yet... I'm using a Helix. I'm loving it in the lower E1-F range though. I'm using Ernie ball 90-20guage
You definitely need a bit more volume boost than you would with other guitars I use mine with a Helix in live environments and I really like the Line 6 Badonk model (apparently inspired by the iconic Line 6 Big Bottom from the POD XT but I don't hear it... Either way it's a great sounding model) and I really like the Placater Dirty (inspired by the Friedman Browneye). In terms of a boost, I usually use my Earthquaker Plumes with a bit more volume and gain than I would on other guitars. Believe the latest firmware added a model of the Plumes that might be worth trying out! Also had great luck boosting with a Klon-style pedal (the Minotaur in the Helix is very good), the extra treble boost can really help you cut through In my experience, it's all about controlling the low end so things don't get too flubby. The bassist still needs room to shine through!
@@AdamTrain thanks my bro. I have been playing around with the Badonk and Minotaur and I'm really liking it. I've been using a Gain block to boost the guitar into the amp by a few DB as well as a tube scream on 0gain high level to tighten up the sound too.

I'm also inclined to get it down to the octave E, if not F#, so I should get away with it. Otherwise, amazing job on the riffs/covers. Your recordings are very good.
Great review, I watched it with great pleasure even though I refused to buy this guitar. I also liked everything you performed!
Thanks pal, really appreciate it!
Solid review man. Really debating between this and the src6ms
Let me know what you choose, I'm well interested in the Ibanez but it looks like it honors the bass guitar DNA much more than the Gretsch
Awesome review! I ended up going with a squire baritone cabronita that I’ve been heavily modding but this one was also a blast to play with!
Nice choice, what mods did you do to it?
this is pure gold man!!!
Thanks mate!
this is just beautiful
Thanks pal!
The intro song is immaculate oh my fucking god???
Thanks mate!
never thought id hear someone start title fighting on a baritone but hey, first time for everything!
There's a surprisingly large number of Title Fight x Loathe fans in the comments
Great video and playing dude 🤘🏻 You should have waaaaay more views bro!
Thank you so much, I really appreciate the encouragement!
@@AdamTrain Thank you for the info!
“A video that maybe 20 people will see”
Happy 20k lol
Suddenly the algorithm likes me for some reason!
And thanks man 🫡
Wowwww subbed in 30 seconds, incredible
Thank you, mate, really appreciate it!
holy shit this is amazing man!!
Thank you mate
Baritone head in the ceiling fan sounded insane
Right? Such an incredible guitar part
Holy fuck dude that Loathe Cover is fucking amazing!!!!
Thank you!
Sick intro song bro!
Thank you mate!
You definitely need a bit more volume boost than you would with other guitars
I use mine with a Helix in live environments and I really like the Line 6 Badonk model (apparently inspired by the iconic Line 6 Big Bottom from the POD XT but I don't hear it...
Also had great luck boosting with a Klon-style pedal (the Minotaur in the Helix is very good), the extra treble boost can really help you cut through
In my experience, it's all about controlling the low end so things don't get too flubby.
