John Wetton was one of my favorites singers/songwriters. My favorite album was his solo album; Battle Lines. The title track is amazing; so it Right Where I Wanted to Be, and Hold Me Now. Yes, someone called prefabricate band, because they used 4 great musician form other great band, but they did well, continue working until John Weaton die,
Asia was such a great band. This is a supergroup made up of John Whetton from King Crimson, Steve Howe of the band Yes, Geoffe Downs from Yes and the Buggles and Carl Palmer from the group Emerson, Lake & Palmer. But this song hit MTV with a force in 1981/82. The harmonies are freaking amazing. Gives me chills. With your headphones on you pick up each instrument distinctively. Great pick and reaction! Should be noted that Asia still tour today but John Whetton passed away in 2017 unfortunately. RIP John. MTV was brand new in 1982 and looking for content. Most bands did not have real videos and had to put something, anything together to give rotation on MTV so you will see a lot of early videos that just don't make sense or are completely void of meaning. Budgets for video were none existent since the medium had not yet shown that it was profitable for music. That would quickly change and record companies would then push big dollars into video content. It made many bands successful, and even ruined some careers ( Billy Squier). But looking back on some of these video's as cheesy as they are, they were great for those of us growing up in this era. We were mesmerized by it. Our eyes glued to the tv.
The video is great with the gymnast performing jumps and twists on images of TV artifacts, expressing what the painful story of the song tells, is a love story based on her lies and manipulations...

Happy days here, this and Pale Shelter back to back.
Glad that you reacted to this song, it has very special meaning for me, even though I’d never heard of the song until 1996 or 97.
If possible I’d like to recommend another John Mellencamp song, “Crumblin’ Down” but you really need to watch the official video not just listen to the audio, please.
The video is very impressive and entertaining.
Thank you for reading this and enjoy the rest of your weekend.
I’m 67 and alone in life and I have to admit that Amber & J have become like honorary family to me I’ve come to love them like family, anyway, I hope that that isn’t embarrassing.
Crumblin Down is my favorite song of his!
Forgot how much I love this band!
You both have an amazing ability for identifying the cowbell in songs. I never realized how popular of an instrument it was before watching your channel. I gotta have more cowbell!

this song is the best song on that first Asia album!!!! it is incredible! This is the shortened version, used for MTV. The album version is a bit longer!
I'm not really a prog rock fan but I LOVED Asia and this is music to perfection! Everything from their first album was fantastic but some future listens could be: "Sole Survivor" "Wildest Dreams" "Without You" "Don't Cry" and "Go."
yes yes yes to all these.
One of my favorite songs when it came out.
LETS TALK 🎉🎊
Asia was 🔥🏆🎶. Check out Don't Cry and Here Comes the Feeling. You'll be glad you did.
My dad got me this album on vinyl, along with Pyromania and Synchronicity, when I was eleven and he only had two more years to live. That makes it one of my favorite memories.
"Here Comes the Feeling," "Sole Survivor," "Don't Cry," and their live version of "Court of the Crimson King." Just a few suggestions.
LOVED Asia back in the day!! I agree.....Don't Cry is the one you need to listen to next.
Great Band! Prog Rock Supergroup!
Wow!! I can't believe I'm seeing this jam from Summer 1982. Great band (supergroup), John Wetton (may he RIP) was a superb singer. Geoffrey Downes a super keyboardist/songwriter, and Steve Howe is a historic guitarist. "Don't Cry" is another Asia song. Thanks!
"Time Again" is on that same (debut) album and is 🔥🔥🔥. Definitely worthy of a reaction!

I had forgotten this song! One of my favorites…thanks for the reaction!❤
