You guy's should check out the 3th mayor dutch female metal vocalist, Sharon del Adel (band Within Temptation). Preferable Within Temptation and Metropole Orchestra - Mother Earth
also i got to say this was a special show , due to their 10th anniversary with ex bandmembers guest vocals and the 70-piece Extended Hungarian Remenyi Ede Chamber Orchestra they played for about 3 hours with lots of songs that were rarely played live and some classical songs re arranged by the band themselves. and Simone Simons was 3 months pregnant. this show was fully recorded for the Dvd and 3 cd live album Retrospect
I'm a bit late to the game, lol! I love, love, love when Simone and Floor collaborate. They have such complimentary tones, with Simone's soft and airy voice and Floor's powerful and dramatic sound. Love love love!

Floor and Simone are best friends. The two of them are incredible together. Did you know that Mark Jansen(no relation) of Epica and Floor were together in the band After Forever? Also Simone was a few months pregnant at the time. They have done at least one other song together. Thanks for doing this video. It is one of my favorites. You should do a song from Floor's band ReVamp. Devin Townsend is featured. It is called Anatomy of a Nervous Breakdown: Nuerasthenia. They are unbelievable together.
And Mark and Simone are an ex-couple :D

Saw Epica live several years ago and Floor's old band ReVamp were supporting them. She came on stage then to sing Sancta Terra as well with Simone. Amazing moment.
Another bad that has performed with an orchestra that you may like is Within Temptation. They did a show called Black Symphony. Tracks like Mother Earth, The Cross, The Promise and Somewhere (Feat. Anneke van Giersbergen who did the duet with Amorphis on their latest album) all sound amazing with the live orchestra. :)
Agreed, Black Symphony was totally amazing, got it on dvd. Worth every penny. That duet between Sharon and Anneke was so beautiful. :)

Evanescence did a tour around Australia in February with the Orchestra from each capital city Amy Lee performed at for the new Album Synthesis. It was great to watch and a different style for Amy Lee

Sennheiser is a company recommendable for good quality headphones. I bought Sennheiser HD 201 last year for 35 € only (~50 canadian dollar). Good quality, comfortable and still in shape like the first day. If you need new headphones one day, try some of Sennheiser! :)
I honestly need to upgrade both our sets they are 3 years old and they are starting to fall apart. I will look into this recommendation.

Sennheisers are amazing. They can get quite expensive for a really good pair, but they're well worth it.
I have owned several sets of Sennheisers. They haven't disappointed me. My "travel" set is the PX-100, and my big home set is the HD700, powered by an external dac/amp.
I've heard some professional musicians even prefer Sennheiser due to their quality. Always a good product!

Great! You should also definitely check out the other video from this DVD with both Floor and Simone: Stabat Mater Dolorosa. This is a classical music song and it is pretty much just their two voices. If you think they were pushing themselves on "Sancta Terra," just wait until you see this video. It is the best song I know to show the full potential of these two singers.

I didn't give Epica much of a chance. Interestingly enough i did the same thing with Nightwish, now i absolutely love Nightwish. Time to give Epica a second chance. I liked this.

Headphones company recommendations:
Sennheiser for everything for everything 50-500 euros. They have a big lineup of different sound signature from really neutral to really bass heavy so you have a lot to choose from.
Audeze is great if you have like 800-1200 euros to spend but that's probably not an option^^
Beyer dynamic is also good stuff.
Specific models: Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 over ear is great for slightly more bass (not nearly as much as beats by Dre where the bass can dumb down other parts sometimes) than neutral headphones (also great for gaming if you're into that). Sennheiser HD6xx from Massdrop is great too although they are more neutral sounding (all frequencies are equally amplified) HD700 and HD800 from Sennheiser are great too but more expensive. Beyer dynamic Dt770/880 are both very good as well. If you're hesitant just look around, there's a ton of comparisons on both TH-cam and forums.

I'd buy all the Epica albums if Mark Jansen would just shut up. I can't imagine having a singer like Simone and having someone who can't sing a lick sing instead of Simone. I guess some folks like it but for the life of me I can't understand why. This is one of their good songs - guess why?

I feel like I am gonna get heat for this but bring it. Floor really floored (speaking of puns) Simone here. Simone's classical singing is beautiful for sure even if in my opinion Floor still is way better on that front too. The difference is huge, though, when it comes to non-classical singing. And yes I am hugely bias in my opinion and no I can't sing myself and so on. Whatever people who disagree with me will surely point out.
I think Floor is the better of the two also!
Sancta Terra, one of their most overrated and boring songs. Retrospect sound mix is a complete mess, and Simone sounds/is tired and constrained. React to Kingdom of Heaven, or any song that's not written for fat goth gurlz so that they can pretend to like metal and classical music, none of which can be found here.
