Sims4 Beef Wellington is named after J. Wellington Wimpy. (I'd gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today) So sims4 Wellington is just cheap stovetop hamburgers.🤣🤣🤣
I feel like the smarter move would've been to make him a spellcaster so he could Repairio the stove instead of replacing it with money, usually it's a pretty fast spell to learn with Scruberoo too, to clean the stove so that the sim isnt uncomfortable.
Would repario work on fire damage, it's not something you can manually repair, so if the spell works that would be a huge benefit! I guess I know what I will be testing!
I've played this scenario and I found that when I got the grillmaster reward trait from the reward store, my sim had way less fires happening. So that's a little tip if you plan to try this scenario again
One of the packs let’s you buy gifts from your phone, and a SimRay is one of them. It doesn’t prevent fires, but it lets you put them out instantly, typically before they burn anything or affect your hygiene.
what if you snagged always welcome from the rewards store and did your cooking in other people's houses? get the perks of the landgraabs' fancy stove and, oh, it burned up? whoops, sorry friends, on to the caliente's hehe
semaJ: Hey Firefighter, I'm having a dinner party, wanna come? Firefighter: Um..........................will there be cooking? As soon as I saw these upgraded Scenarios, I thought, "James'll be speed running his little heart out!" Sure enough, 47 minutes of gold, haha. It strikes me that folks who do this one could sell some of their foodstuffs from the selling table. It keeps them fresh if I recall, and if you mark them up a bit it might help cover the cost of the stoves. But James had a good strategy in Handiness, too, that had a double benefit. If you upgrade the Flavor thingy on the stove it helps the quality as well. I wonder if he ever noticed he got the expensive stove as I believe the last promotion reward?
This actually seems like an interesting scenario! I haven't played with scenarios before because they seemed kinda boring. I'll have to try this one though!
Upgrading the bed is Definitely useful in a single or double sim household but when you want all your children sims to sleep through the night, not ideal
@@sierrarose9433 in that case I would make the kids do thier homework in the early morning, eat and take thier shower, then back to bed to sleep until school time. When they get home from school tired they can nap, or eat, then do something for an achievement task, then bed.
@@belakovacs708 oh do let us know, i was just thinking about this because its one of the aspirations i try to complete on as many sims as i can, not that fires are that much of a worry in-game lol
I thought to let you know when you have the same career as another Sim the game gives you a hidden relationship with them and since you hadn't socialized with anyone else, the game picked Bob because of that and the other sim (Island Living Townie) he was asking about may also be in the cooking career too but not 100% sure.
And thus, those weird, raw-only diets came into prominence! I do like that they're adding sillier scenarios, though. This feels more challenging and sims-like than a lot of them have so far.
I've been watching the Bigwallet series off and on while I do housework (on the restaurant one now) and there is a noticeable improvement in your editing style. Those older videos seemed like straight records without cuts where as this is a great example of when to trim things down in the name of getting to the point (cutting out the wood working, the cooking animations unless there's a fire, load screens, etc). Also it's very nice to see your face! I never realized I'd miss seeing your reactions as much as I do watching the old videos. Anyway, random comment, but I wanted to let you know that your hard work has been noticed and is very appreciated :)
I'm working through this scenario right now, too. It was fun seeing you running into the same challenges (stoves cost money, needing to know two people for the dinner party, not working for four days) and the same realizations (should have lived in a tiny home, maybe there are some helpful rewards). Kudos to the Sims team-- this is definitely a great scenario!
That's what you'd think, but unless someone is playing with mods, the teens will be locked out at that level, because they cannot join the cooking career. So, i feel it's redundant.
Maybe it's to help new players who might not know about teens and adults having access to different careers? They have the same thing in the parenting aspirations. I think most people would be able to understand that without it being written into the aspiration but maybe they wanted to make sure.
I would love to see the million simoleans challenge with woodworking/handiness! Handiness going up means your needs would go up quicker super fast too from the upgrades so you could probably get it a lot quicker than with the gardening one or the painting :) i don't think you can sell the furniture at yard sales (i could be wrong) but you could still open a retail store and mostly live there and sell the tubs for a markup
I didn't know that. XD thankfully I rarely encounter fires in the sims. In the past couple years the only time I've encountered a fire was once when my sim burned some incense.
This was honestly hilarious to watch. I love how James always has a great attitude even when bad things happen and he doesn’t seem annoyed he seems amused. Also how he always gets excited when every single townie contacts him. Also... “If I died that would be so annoying.” 😂
If you wanted to try getting the connections reward trait before starting the career, I think the aspiration to work on first would be Freelance Botanist. That gets you the fireproof reward trait that would be very useful for this challenge.
As an accountant in busy season, I also resonate with being stressed for not being at work but also stressed from doing the work. This was an entertaining challenge!
Really easy way to make a lot of money is getting the decorations box from seasons and rummaging through and selling them. One of my sims doesn’t have a job a solely use that to make money. Do it three or four times you usually end up with 2000+ simoleons!! ✨✨✨
I haven't watched yet but I started this challenge last night. After my Sims second time cooking the stove caught fire and I couldn't afford to replace it. From that point on I just read books and made salads! Good progress so far 4:15 I did the same thing. Deleted half the stuff in the house that my guy didn't need.
I love how in everyone of his videos vald comes! I've never actually had it happen in my game but I find it so funny how to happens every time without fail!
I just want to say how much I love your videos and how much they make me laugh and smile. I've been poorly for 4 days now with a bad flu and I've found so much comfort watching your Bigwallet series (again) I'm up to the University series where you kill everyone with a party and that's my favourite. These little challenges that you post always make me so happy too. Your voice brings me such comfort so thank you so much 😊💖
Great Let's play James. It would've made sense to start in a "Tiny Home". Unless you could upgrade stoves to be fire resistant, you could've bought a barbeque grill. Or I wonder if the chef station is fireproof?
I tried that with the cursed lot challenge and it still set the world on fire 🤣 I should have put it at the farther corner of the lot from everything else.
and if you cook on a public lot? Well, or on the street. it seems that my character did not catch fire, and the grill itself is unlikely to have deteriorated... I need to check it out
Ooooh I forgot they were adding new scenarios. I'll have to take a look at them and definitely try this one. The last couple about marriage didn't interest me but fires are more fun. 😆
I am loving this scenario! I used James's tips (tiny house, stove away from everything). My sim is doing great! She just married my irratic millionaire and since she just got a level 9 promotion, they have moved into a penthouse in the city because, you know, that's where all the top restaurants are.
Thank you mate for doing this one! you and Deli help me out on the sims stuff! and i do love yalls big island! i reall want to go down there and see almost all!
If you're ever interested in trying this one again, the trick I found (bit cheaty maybe) was to build my chef a kitchen as a generic lot on a nearby lot that he could travel to and have him visit it whenever he wasn't at work. Apparently when you're on any lot other than your home lot stoves and grills won't catch fire even with the scenario running (unless they've "fixed" that since I last did it). It's a pain to have to travel so much, sure, but it's a lot less frustrating (and less expensive) than using your own kitchen at home, and more interesting than making sushi and salads all the time.
*laugh* It lured you into false sense of security with the fireless streak, and then BAM! So much, so much of the time! But hey, you succeeded, and I'm glad. And yeah, you should totally do a woodworking Makin' Money run! Maybe that could be another "base game only" try?
I've been having that glitch with the holidays not ticking off. Just go to manage worlds, come back, then they will be completed. It's super frustrating.
Workaholic is the most bugged lifestyle I swear lol every sim I have with it is constantly stressed about missing work even when they're at work at this point I just remove the lifestyle asap every time they earn it.
I did this one! I gave him all the perks that make it less likely he would set things on fire. He still constantly set things (like himself) on fire. He survived, singed but alive, thanks to his wife and the fire department. Interestingly, he never died during the challenge and he did become a celebrity chef! Once he reached job 10, the unlucky trait went away and he no longer sets things on fire. I used a lot of money cheats to buy new stoves lol.
100% saw that coming with the expensive stove. Though if the sims got anything right, it's insurance companies gypping you out of your hard earned money by not paying out nearly enough for replacements.
By the way, the Ides of March were recently, and umm...James speaking too soon reminded me of when Julius Caesar in the Shakespeare play was like "The Soothsayer said "Beware the Ides of March" but who cares, I am not going to light up on fire or anything, right?"😆😂🤣 Great video by the way, really made my day. 🙂
Suggestions if you want to try again: Start with naturalist aspiration, the reward for completing it is the fireproof trait (your Sim is fireproof not the lot) and will also make big §§§. At the same time, become a spell caster and get reparing and the extinguishing spells. Once you finish the aspiration (or you have enough reward points) get the connections trait to start higher level in the career.
Ik it's been ages ago, but abusing Harvestfest to become friends is my fav thing to do. You just need to send people thank-you cards thru the mail box :D it's faster and less laggy than taking pictures
I like how you could customize this to make it easier or harder. Like one could stick to only salads/onigiri in order to win the challenge quickly. Or they could put on traits like simple living, make the character lazy/ clumsy, maybe have build the dust on and have wooden walls to make everything a LOT harder.
The problem with these scenarios is that the game has so many workarounds built into it. For this one, you could get to L10 Cooking really quickly by being inspired, living on a tiny lot and only making salads. The fires would never affect you… 🤷♀️

Ik it's been ages ago, but abusing Harvestfest to become friends is my fav thing to do. You just need to send people thank-you cards thru the mail box :D it's faster and less laggy than taking pictures
I want to see you do the villainous fortune one too! James! You can lock vampires out you know LOL
I like how you could customize this to make it easier or harder. Like one could stick to only salads/onigiri in order to win the challenge quickly. Or they could put on traits like simple living, make the character lazy/ clumsy, maybe have build the dust on and have wooden walls to make everything a LOT harder.
James: "I won't just make salads. That wouldn't be fun."
Me: *Doesn't even give my Sim a stove*
The problem with these scenarios is that the game has so many workarounds built into it. For this one, you could get to L10 Cooking really quickly by being inspired, living on a tiny lot and only making salads. The fires would never affect you… 🤷♀️
For some reason I can't picture James going that route. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Why do the scenario if you're going to cheese it.
@@wwaxwork My point is that it’s not ‘cheesing’ it if the game gives you the tools to avoid it.
Saw this when I was playing last night but I picked a different scenario instead. Really enjoyed this! :)
