@@russellhenke9543 Because wanting us to buy a DLC for a DLC is just wrong. Every single item of my first pet stuff should have been included in cats and dogs. TS4 pets expansion is the only one in all the sims games where we only got 2(!) pets and this for 40€.
In ts1 we got: cats, dogs, birds, fish and reptiles. The pack came out in 2002.
In ts2 we got: cats, dogs, guinea pigs and parrots and it was also the game where we got werewolves. The pack came out in 2006.
In ts3 we got: cats, dogs, horses, snakes, turtles, birds, rodents and lizards (maybe more but those I remember). The pack came out in 2011.
And then in ts4, we pay 40€ for just cats and dogs? I mean don't get me wrong, I love this pack, but 40€ for two animals is ridiculous enough; making us pay even more money for another few small animals and some cat and dog clothes? That's insulting.
Anyone else that gets an excessive amount of serotonin every time James says: "Oh Batu yeah!"

@@countrye3013 I have all the expansion packs except eco lifestyle snowy escape and get to work, half the game packs and a couple stuff packs and hearing how much money I’ve spent on the game is really confronting
wow I just realized some stuff packs really should just merge huh, like vintage glamour stuff and luxury stuff are two different packs apparently. what's up with that

I think those are ok-ish because they are quite far in between in time and luxury was the first one before they found a better balance. It was worse when the country kit and country life packs were so similar because they were developed within the same timeframe.

great idea, like you start w/ base game and have 5 minutes to build. then the pack randomizes every 5 minutes and you can't change anything you did w/ the prev pack

His loathing for the My First Pet's stuff pack is legendary.
I imagine laundry night stuff would just be the broken down dingy version of the washing and drying machines, and instead of cute laundry room furniture you have old outdated stuff you would see in a laundromat.
It would have 4 items, one would be the laundry detergent dispensers and you'd have to pay simoleons to use it, GIANT drum washer and dryers (there's always one or two huge washers and dryers for the people doing the years worth of laundry), ans then one of those weird baskets but also hanging rack that are one object.. ok maybe five let's include a folding table.

Maybe it’s a regional thing, but a shared bathroom between rooms is very common in mid/west America. It’s usually full, but not fancy like a masters. It’s intended for children so they have their own bathroom. There’s never a door from a hallway to the bathroom, just the two doors going between bedrooms.
Interesting, do you usually have a separate toilet then? Or do guests usually have to go through someone's bedroom?
@@skullspoon3408 so usually the kids share what they call a "jack and jill" bathroom. Then there's a "half-bath" or I guess a powder room in the main living areas for guests to use.

This was so nice! The layout is great, the house is spacious and actually looks chic, and I know I'd have fun jazzing it up a little for my sims. When I did this a while back, I initially forgot about Grimm's Guitar. I made it tougher though by including doors, windows, floors, wallpapers, mailbox and trashcan (and having significantly fewer packs)

I love it, James! I have never commented here before but I really like your content, you are definitely one of my The Sims youtubers. I appreciate the effort to actually try it and make the house look good. I play The Sims 4 sometimes, but I don’t have any packs because it would probably be a waste of money since I don’t play it a lot, anyhow just wanted to say that I also really like and appreciate your LP’s.

I’ve been watching James for years and the fact he ALWAYS has my first pet stuff disabled never fails to amuse me when he points it out, it’s honestly so relatable cause besides the rats in the ugly cage I use nothing from that pack.

That empty garage is just James' inner voice crying out for cars in the game. I've done the same in my builds, but I usually put a debug car in there just to pretend that we really do have cars. Someday... someday...
The lack of immersive travelling using vehicles in the sims 4 is why I just like to stick around with the sims 3 instead

It would be cool to see this done in a much smaller build! (Maybe even an apartment?) Then you'll have the added challenge of trying to fit every pack into a smaller space
I love this! Another idea could be having to use one of each category from all the packs in one build. Like... when clicking the comfort category you have to use 1 chair/bed etc from each of the packs (if they exist). And in an as small build as possible. Basically eclectic maximalist build.
Tht could get very busy, like all the kitchen and bathroom items in one build, would be quite strange haha, he could possibly try and make a Horder house, block of flats or some kind of Ikea though...

wait I have an idea: what if you tried to make a build with every single gameplay feature in it? so like, you have to fit the cupcake machine, rocketship, rock-climbing wall etc in there somewhere.
Every gameplay, or every skill? Because if you want to be able to do every interaction in the game on one lot, I think your game is gonna lag a lot from the amount of items you gotta use
I’ve done that. It’s a crazy lot. It doesn’t look good but I wasn’t trying either - I just wanted a lot that used everything.
@@Roozyj I was thinking every unique intractable item, because I honestly wanna see the chaos of trying to fit all of the unreasonably large items into one lot as i often have to do when my household is full with sims all with their own hobbies xD.
Because I mean, if you do just every skill then both baking and cooking would be done by an oven for example, and you wouldnt have the unique pastries you can make with the cupcake machine. you also wouldnt have to be forced to shove the cupcake machine in there somewhere.

I had an idea for a simlar thing. "Cheapest items only", exceptions allowed if you need a long sofa and the matching loveseat or armchair. But if you decide you don't need the long sofa, you have to swap for the cheapest loveseat or chair. I built a house that was originally meant to be a starter, but when I was done it was like $80k, so that's what gave me the idea.

You could just use filter in item selection and uncheck packs every time you use something.
But confused expression on your face when you overthinking is what makes content, so keep it up :^D
Now I hope we'll get an updated version of this challenge with all packs up to High School Years AND with My First Pet Stuff. No cheating around, James! It's ONE item from EACH pack, buddy! ;P

What if you do a build challenge that is similar to this where all the packs are on a timer and you only have like 2 min to use each pack before you have to move on to next one, and then you can’t use it again.
