- The recent Sims 4 updated added a new scenario that I was keen to try, staying up for 5 days without falling asleep!

It's annoying that one of the goals is "stay awake for 5 days" but it says "0/1" so you can't keep track of it easily. As if it were so difficult to make it like 0/5.

I'm not a fan either. Just not my thing but I like watching James play them.
I kinda like it. I start a scenario as a character backstory- so they don’t start off games totally blank slate

i feel like this scenario is perfect for a haunted house:
1. nightly satisfaction points gain
2. guidry is there to befriend
3. guidry can refill your energy need in a pinch
and i wonder if doing a gig as a ghost hunter counts as a night shift??

If you send them alone to complete the gig it should at the very least. Giving them the gloomy trait to become inspired through ghost-interaction and being a spellcaster for potion of plentiful needs should also make things nicer for the sim.

I love how James doesn't even skip a beat before jumping into sacrificing Tomax for the scenario gods, and then finding out there's a literal lot trait that attracts ghosts... Pardon the pun, but dead xD

the fact that james returned tomax to his wife but now a ghost is so funny to me.
I was doing so well with this scenario and then my sim fell asleep in the tub with like half energy left so I rage quit lol

The timer restarts if they fall asleep. Granted, that is annoying but it can be completed still.
I only recently discovered that if you put an appeased gnome in your sims inventory, it will spew seed packets into your household inventory all day, every day. That’s probably a bug. I’d imagine it was only supposed to do that for the holiday
I once did that and wondered, why my build mode got more and more laggy. Turned out I got like 200 of each seed packet in my household inventory
There was a bug where those gnomes just kept on spawning seed packets all year long, every Sim hour. Then, you have one gnome per family members and each gnome spawns packets. Now, your family have 8 Sims ... Imagine the mess. 8 packet every hour.
i did that once and then when i finally noticed and sold them all, i made like 50k simoleons

I have a glitch in my Snow White household that does that, but I'm not sure if I ever put one in the household inventory or one of the family's one... I'll have to check. It's the one glitch I like though hehe

James saying “let’s go home, this place sucks” and criticizing the existence of museums in the Sims really made me laugh. 😂 cuz I love museums IRL but yeah in the game it’s dumb lol
i think museums in the sims are better if you add an "art center" vibe to it... like rooms with super good easel, wall and floor painting, with music instruments or with things to do : photos, DIY, floral composition or whatnot... and even a little bar area and a little garden... well things and activities to do for your sims!

This was incredibly triggering as I did a spellcaster play through where my sim romanced Tomax, they got married, he joined the household, brewed a pot of coffee and then DIED fixing the machine. Thanks for the memories lol
the fire bit reminded me so much of when benedryl crumplebottom was added to the seasons lp and james tried so hard to kill him only for a phantom sprinkler to ruin it every time lmao

I've definitely had a sim stay awake for 5 solid days before. She was a spellcaster going to university, so I just had her make a bunch of potions of plentiful needs during the week so she'd never have to do any actions to up her mood
we’re all focused on Semaj’s story but I wanna know what was going on with Celine 💀💀💀 Falling in love with a vampire, becoming friends with a first class actress…. she’s living her best fan fiction life lololol

Not always. I’ve eaten a couple of servings of Grand Meals with a single Sim, and it didn’t work. Maybe she was just unlucky.
With werewolves you can’t even call to grand meal 🤔
Semaj always remembers safety first when doing such dangerous acts as painting as an easel. He loved that helmet!
They have ghost nights at bars and they have the pet graveyard. There's also lot traits that help bring ghosts to places.
But if you add the dog, you can feel the love and get more satisfaction points

I managed to only use two sleep replacements to get my guy through 5 days because I did all I could to keep him Energized all the time. The espresso shot from Get Together gives a lot more energy than regular coffee too.

You should do a game of Sims musical statues. Make Sims dance, press pause, the Sims that keep moving gets "eliminated", last sim standing wins.
museums are actually my go to date location in the sims! they’re less crowded than gyms, cafes, and bars which cuts down on lag or interruptions in my date. they’re also the best place for klepto sims to go 😉
As an Insomniac I feel that scenario, but normally it's for 30 hours. More than 2 days and you're risking your health unless you are a vampire.
The photo lag, the broken whims... the frustration is like I'm watching myself playing lol

I have a scenario save which I do all the scenarios in. As you do all yours with Semaj, you would just have a world full of clones of yourself. lol
Oh my god watching this made me realize I’ve never had whims on in my game! Literally never. I’ve been playing sims 4 since 2015 and I never noticed.
With the new update and getting fears and wants replacing whims, I had no idea what anyone was talking about. I thought maybe I just ignored them. But then I’m watching this rn playing sims and I’m like “shouldn’t I have some? None of my sims have ever had any” then I go to settings and they’re off. 🥴 7 years I’ve been playing sims 4 and not once did I ever realize that! 🤣

Be a spell caster, or have a spell caster joins your family. Ask Tomas to research potions in the cauldron for the fulfilled needs potion. Usually the first or second recipe that is discovered. Brew a few of it, you only need an apple as ingredient. Drink one whenever your energy need get a little low. Forget that ! Drink one whenever ANY of your need goes orange or red.
For the ghost : Get the Spooky challenge. Befriend Felix Psyched. He tend to show up early as he starts as a ghost.
Taking photos of Sims to increase friendship is over powered. Do it twice to become good friend with ANY Sim.
Remove the couch. Have only chairs in the house, so, no place to nap nor sleep.
Half the video I kept thinking to myself, “You got rid of the bed, but not the couch?” Swap to money trait and delete stuff. Still left the couch. lol. If it was me, I would have moved the table into the kitchen, deleted the living room and entryway, and reattached the bathroom to the kitchen in an effort to get the tier 3 mini-home. But I don’t think it really mattered much in the end. At least he didn’t try to nap.
Uh... did James legit just choose a Sim to romance and murder based off "You're the first person I saw"?

do u know that u can just drag the metal/crystal/frog or any other collectibles from your inventory and drag it back into your inventory, to make it being counted as "collect collectibles" in aspiration?
i have only one metal one frog one crystal one fossil in my inventory and by doing this i completed the first few milestones in collector aspiration

Commenting in the middle of the video, but if anyone doesn't know, you have a higher chance of crafting a more quality item (painting, writing books, not sure about others) if you choose the same genre over and over again.
The first time he says let's gooo in a video is when I scroll to the like button. I can't explain how adorable it sounds 🙂

If you do the grill cheese aspiration whilst being a chef it'd be easy to earn satisfaction points and you can also do the garden aspiration and earn points and money.
You could also app people to you household, have them buy the sleep replacement drink move it your inventory and then move the sims out when you're done with them.....its not cheating if its in the game
Actually, if you have a single sim in the household, all you have to do is have them eat a serving and it completes that part without using “call to meal”…
I have no idea why this was so funny to me. I know I’m not the only one who thought of the haunted house/ghost hunting as a means to beat this scenario

you can drag paintings off the easl before it's finished, so you can start any emotional or inspired paintings, cancel, drag and repeat. Then you can move them back onto the easl to finish them. Great for getting "start 3 inspired" in a row before the moodlet expires!
I find it so funny James didn't make his house a haunted house, woo Temprance and marry her 😂😂
My favorite way to get lots of satisfaction points is jumping between aspirations since they save! Sometimes even just choosing one, then another can work well. 😊

I’m gonna do an R-rated version of this scenario with the basemental drugs mod and just have my sim keep doing meth and see if they can stay up for five days that way lol

instead of call for meal on harvest feast you can eat the plate and it counts as done.
James, if you select 'Take Selfie With' and select the sim you want boosted friendship with they don't have to get into position first like they do with 'Take Photo of'.
i love that james always have long videos! i have a newborn and these definitely come in handy during feeding times!

Some tips for the 2. level of the curator aspiration:
- breed your frogs like you did
- put our your crystals and fossils out of the inventory and then back into it. You can do it as often as you need.
- crystals can be bought at the computer or in the magic world
I usually do the first three levels to easily gain aspiration points.
The thing I discovered with the collecter aspiration is that I don't have to find all the frog/crystals/fossils. I just get one, move it to the bottom of my inventory and it counts. I always get through that level so fast.
For the grand meals, you just need to eat a serving and I think you need a computer to volunteer.
I like watching James do these scenarios and I learn new features and tips for TS4.

I like your builds in Moonwood Mill. I built a train station to blend in. I did add mirrors to the library bathrooms; a lot of pep talks seem to happen there.

Great episode. So fun. My hybrid sim is a spell caster and a vampire so she just always has potion of plentiful needs in her pocket. This scenario would be ideal/easy for her.
Challenge: Have a Sim have every Reward Potion/Trait/Perks on the Reward Store. Rule: you cant switch Aspirations unless you 100% completed the current one.
Move objects realllly helps with that lag bug. It doesnt stop it from happening but when it does, just turn move objects on. Even if it's already on, type it in the bar again.
Honestly, you might be right about that. I never get the lag bug and I have moveobjects turned on from the moment I open my save file.
*snork* Semaj saw what you did to Tomax and just slapped that helmet on in a desperate attempt to keep his own life. Helmet for days~ This was fun, though! I think you would have gotten the needed aspiration points faster if you'd switched aspirations more, but this definitely worked. No matter what, it always comes down to the easel and the sketchpad for Semaj. . .
I watched this whilst taking a nap. I dreamt you were watching me play the sims 2 and was really rushing me through the CAS process then made me do all these weird challqnges and social interactions, including trying to talk to a lizard sim who didnt speak simlish
