Good to know there are some 11 second V6 dodges out there! Sadly the weight is holding them back. I'm right around the same power in my camaro but running 11.0 flat.
I’ll take the extra weight, the challenger is actually a usable car on the daily. Huge trunk, 4 usable seats, and an actual comfortable ride. Call me crazy but for most people it’s not all about being the absolute fastest car on the road. Not bagging on the camaro, it has its place. All the people saying the challenger needs to lose weight need to understand that the car will either get smaller which makes it less appealing to me for daily purposes, or cost a bunch more.
@@bluesmoke218 that’s not what we are talking about when it comes down to chasing times this is a discussion on getting the cars to be as fast as possible and right now this is the one that set the bar for the new mopar v6’s
@@bluesmoke218 you make a valid discussion point though we do sacrifice alot to get faster. I will not argue dodge has nailed the amenities. However I test drove both when buying my car. And I was actually more comfortable in the camaro however I am 5'7 180 lbs. I don't need to seat 4 people ever. And originally bought the car as my daily before I got carried away lol. I love both platforms but just couldn't look away from the new Camaro in 16 when I bought.

I've got a question for you lucky in all honesty could he have bought a Hellcat for what he spent on his Challenger? Also what do you think about the new inline six Twin Turbo that will drop right into any charger Challenger or 300? Engine and installation will be from what I am hearing cheaper than a supercharger and installation 532 horsepower right out of the gate.
I just bought a 2019 300S and I'm going to do something very similar, for around 30K. Thats 22k for a 64000 mile car, plus a blower with supporting mods and tuning. I'm going to run a different axle ratio. I'm more interested in cruising rural 55mph+ roads and Interstate routes. What people don't realize or account for when building a hemi is, you have to spend big money to reliably make much more than above stock power. They will break if this is not addressed. The pistons are weak, especially in the 5.7. The 6.4 is basically a stroked 5.7. Hellcats are tough, but just a crate motor turn-key, it costs more than my toy 300S. There is no arguing that a Hemi will smoke all 3.6 penastars with the exception of the very few built like this one. A setup like this runs like a stock 392 car in a 1/4 mile. The 392 car is a tune away from running deep 11's. On the highway, the gap will be worse. Guys aren't building V6 cars because they think that there's something to prove. This isn't a ricer vs muscle type thing at all. I would like to be north of 400 whp in a well rounded and reliable fair weather daily driver. I didn't want to spend 50K or more on such a toy. I didn't want to spend 35+ either. I also like to play gearhead....what better option than to start with a V6 Pentastar, comparable GM product, or an Eco Boost? I have a worked 5.7 in a 3rd gen 1500 and I absolutely love it. It cost a fortune to build. I've never tracked the MPGs, but I'd guess around 8 maybe? Its also is a mfer to not spin and smoke expensive tires. A modern V6 car can be fairly economical, if its built with centrifugal forced induction. I think its fair to say most of us who are investing in the penastar are doing for similar reasons and logic. I don't know how much a dressed 392 weighs, but I bet its more than the V6. I wish someone would figure out a solution and alternative to the stock heads. Maybe in time...
@@jameszamow5402 Racer X does 0-60 on the 5.7L RT & 3.6L GT. The GT was slightly under 1 second slower in the 0-60 I wouldn't exactly call that "smoking" a 3.6 Pentastar.
@@therealericjackdaniels in real time its not, but understand that at that rate of difference in a 1/4 mile, the hemi will be ahead 10-12 car lengths. Thats a bad beating. 0-60 the V6 is behind 4 or 5 lengths. I own and love versions of both engines. I think the V6 is more fun on a curvy road....hemi weighs 200 lbs more and its on the nose of the car. From a dead dig on straight road, its not close.....atleast up to 130 mph.
Well. I have a single turbo on my car, but I don't want to break anything, 9psi currently with 430whp and 415Ft Lbs. 93 octane. Precision 6262BB Turbo.
Yo luckey wassup had a question about the v6 I have a afe cold air intake and a Borla attack cat back on my challenger right now wanted to upgrade to a bigger throttle body what would you recommend ?
you can get a true hemi 80mm throttle body with the mmx adapter kit or the get your stock one ported or buy a mmx ported throttle body 🤷🏽♂️ lots of options
LOL...500 rear wheel HP??...you can shove that dyno you know where!..My stock v6 challenger ran 14.3 @98 mph and the stock HP is 305 NET and less rear wheel HP. That car ran 115 mph. 115-98=17 mph faster which for the uneducated means aprox 170 more HP so about 475 NET HP , so take off at least 15% off this figure to get the rear wheel figures and you get 403 HP. Not gonna lie that supercharger sounds damn good!
11.2 with my stock hellcat redeye in colorado elevation so he’s close but I’m in the 9sec range now
yeah my hellcat is just in the 10.8 range heat soaked and with the 2.62 going to be getting cooling mods to see what it runs before i get it tuned
That’s awesome! Love the sound too!
FINALLY! Sprintex is the route I want to go.
I’m thinking the same thing
Man i forgot you were doing the raffle lol. Congrats Jordan
Have the Sprintex on my 2016 Rubicon Unlimited. Love it. Has been 100% reliable for around 70k miles.
