Great video. I have an Ascaso Steel Uno PID, and so much water is getting dumped into the tray it takes far too long to get a shot out. It must be this valve cause the problem. I've had the machine about 7 years now, so it's not a total shocker that the gasket may now be uneffective. I'll have to see if I can figure it out myself or if I need to bring it in.

Is this the same as an over pressure valve? OPV

I have a leak coming from the valve next to that valve. What is that bit called? Why would the water be leaking from it? Thanks for your help

Hello Nassib, this is usually the group solenoid exhaust pipe(s) , so when the group is operated to make espresso the 3-way solenoid valve opens to make the shot and when finished exhausts the leftover water down into that tray via the tubing. It shouldn't be constantly dripping though, if it is, it is either something in the solenoid valve stopping it from sealing properly or the plunger in the valve stem is worn and needs replacing. Hope this helps.

On a GS3, where should my readings be on the 2 pressure gauges?

A GS3 steam boiler can be set to up to 2 bars and is typically set between 1.5 and 2. The brew boiler should be at approximately 9 bar while brewing, and should peak at no more than 12 bar (which is what your expansion valve controls, the peak pressure created by thermal expansion in the boiler). The brew boiler can vary over time while at idle, so it can vary between the pressure of your incoming water line, and the peak pressure set by your expansion valve (12 bar in a La Marzocco).
