Dune is on of my favourite books so seeing paul ride the sandworm truly brought tears to my eyes like it exceeded my expectations and putting it in the trailer just makes my hype even crazier because its also one of my favourite scenes in the book 😭
The first book is separated into 3 sections. You can safely read all of the first one without spoiling anything. If you do that you get all the layers that had to be stripped out to make a movie out of a 900 page epic.

The Lynch Dune has its place: visually stunning, if a bit convoluted. I did really like it as a kid, even if it did significantly deviate from the book in places. Villeneuve's Dune, though, just gets it. It's a good balance between Lynch and John Harrison's miniseries (faithful, but clearly had no budget).
I would definitely recommend reading book 1 after part two. But if they are planning to adapt the whole series I would hold off on the rest. Speaking as someone who read the book.

Dune part 2 was shot with the ARRI ALEXA LF at 4.5K.
Part 2 will have loads of action. Butlers was the perfect choice to cast as Feyd Rautha, he took the role very seriously.
