The condition of the tensioner wobbler is not that bad. I doubt it will leave you stranded in that condition. If it gets worse to the point you can easily wobble it with a slight touch of your fingers then get the tensioner replaced.
You ever learn if this is normal? I put a brand new one in my N55/ 435I and it is doing it EXACTLY that much. I was told by a very good tech that it is normal, but called 4 dealerships and they said it was NOT normal. Let me know what you came up with!!
TheNicholasbaldwin hey. Yes I had two N55 experts tell me that this is normal movement for the tensioner. If it’s any more than this though, then contact your mechanic right away!
This is 100% exactly the same as mine, identical. I just put it in a month ago, so I was like WTF. A lot of people will say no its bad but when you tell the " it wobbles or shakes " it sounds much worse than it is. I am just happy that this is normal. I was super bummed, just bought this car!

Don’t trust the stealership, they’ll say “yes, it’s a problem” as much as they can just to have you come over and get your money.
now that 2 years has passed, did you guys have any issues with the tensioner shaking? lol
Ofcourse Dealership will say its not normal, they are a pack of thieves
