Feel free to come run with us, we would be willing to help any way we can. That boat is beautiful! Ive always wanted to see one in person! Im glad you are doing what your doing
I'm Thai girl! Happy to see this many Thai TH-cam channel they're taking about you so drag me to your ch. That's great to see boat of Thailand here so proud.
Thank you from Thailand ! We so appreciate your guys for showing Boat diesel engine that we are used for racing boat ,We are also have a lot of pick-up truck racing diesel i4 too ! Hope your guys like it 😊
Hey Parker, what a awesome concept with the long tail river boat. I live in the Tampa Bay area. And can't wait to come see your boat in person. Good luck, brother.
Hey bro nice boat! My mrs is Thai and let me say I'm happy that you have got this boat with engine and had a few great rips. 4jj are tough and it will be the ONLY boat of its kinds back in the USA!!!
to keep the theme of the build, I would suggest maybe bringing the boat builder over to Florida to build another motor and to make sure everything is pristine after shipping. I think that would be cool in the story to see them be apart of the shipping and reconstruction in America. After seeing the craftsmanship, the heritage behind these things are so damn cool.
I agree with this idea, i'm sure you could find someone to help you with the language there in florida, just post it like you did in the last video before this one 😊
Getting some 2x4 ,carpet and ratchet straps you should be able to get the hull secured into a sea container so it will arrive damage free . Just take the motor apart and ship the top end ,efi , turbos. If you have to think to drive it that’s what makes it fun . It constantly challenges your brain . Looking at the wood work on the boat makes it like a piece of art . If the boats were copied in fiberglass or carbon fiber it just would not be the same .
Hope you can overcome all the regulations to get your boat to the US. SEAFDEC has a good article called Thailand Longtail Boat by P. Taninsulat (2001). "The main purpose of the author is to record details of the Thai longtail boat as it will be useful for anyone who wants to study them in the future." Best of luck 👍
I think I would strip it down to just the short block. Load all of the piece's into the container. Then once it arrives in Florida source a short block and put all of the pieces including the anodized parts on your built short block. You might even be able to ship the short block back separately.
I was thinking take a bunch of lightweight parts off and ship the heavy parts with the boat and then ship via conventional methods, the light ones like all the anodized parts, maybe the cylinder head, and then like you said, send the shortblock in the container.
I've been wanting to build a small long-tail for a while now. I'm thinking about an 8 foot carbon fiber shell, with wood slats, etc. A one person drag boat. My biggest issue is finding someone who can help me with hull design. I am well aware of the dynamics of why they use that interesting step about a third of the way back. I see what they are doing there. BUT.. where exactly does it go ? Then there are things like where the balance points are. The CG vs. position of motor mount. Optimum width.. so many questions that just trying to "guess" from videos ain't cutting it. Carbon fiber is too expensive to waste ""experimenting". I got to know before I make the mold(s) the exact sizes. Then, of course, an engine. Today, I have no clue, really. Probably start with a v-twin Harbor Freight engine and build it a bit. Then there is the prop... oh man that's going to be an issue. The smaller racers use some exotic shapes. Nothing you'll find on the internet.. It would be nice to cultivate a Thai source for props. BTW, I have made a few radio control models of long-tails, electric motor.. One Thai r/c hobbyist does narrate in English on the CC Channel. It's about a foot long and goes very fast. Drag racers only... they don't turn well, LOL. Yes, I would like to be a part of this. I am in SW Ohio, darn it.
They got fast mopeds over there too check those out too . Glad you talked with cb media i like his channel especially the racing mopeds or small motor cycles .
🙏🏻🇹🇭 Thank you very much for liking Diesel engines from Thailand. But it would be much better if the air and fuel ratio were tuning more properly. That black smoke will be reduced as well as pollution. And maybe have more power🥰🙏🏻
The 4jj1 comes in a lot of things in the USA. The Hitachi zx160lc-5 excavator that i run at work comes with the 4jj1 engine so i don't see it being an issue bringing that in.
I guess if I was able to I'd have the builder and the interpreter come to the states. However I fully understand the want of bringing others on board for the build! Also you could build a Cummins for it. As long as the balance mount is right you could power it with anything probably.
@@freedomfox8183 tell me you know nothing about boats without telling us. The thing isn’t meant to do stuff the jet boats are. It’s an open water river boat. You’re not gonna see it do jumps and shit. That’s not what it’s built for.

I really love the fact your bringing something new to the USA, as for emissions standards of USA and this modern diesel blowing black coal , the guys in their f250 , ram trucks and 2500hd get away with it so the boat should be fine , de tunning isn't an option, maybe put particular matter filter on it , I know bulky pain in the arse , where would it fit ?, apply for special permits is the best way even if it cost lots extra , your covered registered insured all legal, hope to see others join you on the river boat race, with your new contacts in Thailand this will be easier for them
Take the compound turbo setup back with you and the anodized parts. Then get them to put standard covers and the Isuzu manifold with the plastic covers over the top. Parts should be cheap there as the Isuzu factory is right there in Thailand.
Please check US. diesel fuel Cetane number. Due Thai’s diesel have different Cetane and different Cetane need different setup to prevent engine blow up.
You can build a rod from the stringer up that has a open hook . Find the height of the bar at cruising speed and when your ready just rest the bar in the hook and ride out
If the EPA won't let the engine in, then just strip everything off it, leave the bare block in Thailand and ship everything else back to the US and source a new block there to build back up.
nice dude. look so much fun.! the regulations wont allow the motor to enter the States right?! can you bring parts of the motor in? say, you parts the motor but leave the longblock in Thailand. the remaining mods parts just ship them as auto parts. there are not much to explain unlike the whole engine. finally, locally source the motor and prep the longblock for those mod parts. ask the motor builder for the build specs so you can do the motor in FL yourself. i dont think he mind. from experience, i believed that tooling and precision are better in America. challenging fun project :)
Just ship the boat and drive gear. Bring a heap at one time. Chuck engines on back in the states, or ship engines separately. Or 2jz ls or rotary back in USA
The Thai people's skill in producing turbo diesel engines is amazing. You wouldn't drive a longtail boat back to Florida, would you? Don't forget to tour around Thailand before returning home. Especially trying Thai food in Thailand. Especially stir-fried chicken with basil and fried egg (Kraprao Kai Khai Dao). It is the national food of the Thai people that is just as delicious with tom yum goong and pad thai.
I think taking apart and sending over to the USA is a good ideas just keep it how it is . As of emissions a boat dose not have a standard, located in New York
Pretty engine, it would be a disaster to get bounced back into the engine belt. Or gets completely tossed into the turning prop. I might suggest keeping it in smooth waters.
treat the boat and motor as one. Import it back to the states as an art piece or exibition peice. Many aussie cars are coming over and having trouble with EPA. Talk to Cleet about Luxifer. special permits availiable for exibition and content vehicles.
Have you investigated into sending the boat to an approved export location. Then use their export laws to ship the boat to final destination. Maybe 2 ports. 6/9 months shipping though. Or put some American power to that puppy.
You should be able to import the head and the internals and everything that’s bolt on and if they they aren’t happy dismantle everything and leave the block and if need be remove everything off the head and leave the case’s and find a block and head in 🇺🇸 and rebuild it. And I’d get with heavy D and maybe even whistling diesel pretty sure they both have imported things. Worth a try bud I don’t know anyone right of hand. But I think the majority of the engine if taken apart wouldn’t be problem just leave the block and if need the head also and bring everything else because that shouldn’t be a problem what so ever.
