I inherited all of my fathers game systems, he was a avid collector. His oldest system was a RCA Studio II video game console. Ten different systems, still in their original boxes. My favorite is the Turbo Duo. I never use them because of a NES looking box called the Super Console Cube X3 that has over 110,000 games on it from sixty different consoles. It works pretty good, my dad would have been in heaven playing it. Thanks for your video, great to watch! Happy gaming!
Another great store brought to us by Retro Rick. I love all the items that you showed. The commercials that you add in between the footage always takes me back. Thank you for that. I love me some 8 bit NES but once Sega Genesis came out I was all in on that system when comparing it to the Super NES. Always looking forward to the content
I love Video Game Cavern. Been shopping there for nearly 20 years for my retro game needs. Robin is amazing. Anytime I’ve been looking for something obscure if they think they may have it in the back room I’ve been invited back there to have a look. Definitely best game store in upstate SC.
What makes that kiosk great is the zenith 1492 screen with the flat tension mask that was a first for the time for the PC. I had one for my PC at the time it cost a fortune back then but was so worth it. It only did 640*480 but Nintendo's game were less resolution than that by far and the monitor had a pitch black background made amazing contrast. The monitor only had a VGA connector so Nintendo had a custom connector for it.
I’ve noticed that mostly with Southerners. They are so sentimental with their hunk of junk. They would rather see it all fade into dust before they even consider maybe selling it which they won’t
@Charlie B yup I feel you. I offered a dude 5k (he was asking 10k) for a 944 turbo that was basically gone, rusted to the bones; still ran, poorly though. He thought it only had "surface rust." However it had an immaculate super super rare made to order color interior. He didn't know this but, still refused to sell it because you know "a porsche demands a higher price tag," went back a year or two later and it was covered in mold due to the rusted out body leaking into the interior. 944's are/were very cheap at the time, good turbos would go for 5k-10k max, they now go for 18k+ but, that interior alone at the time would have gone for 10k+. Edit: 944's had a ton of very rare, made to order exterior and interior color variations that are and were extremely expensive but, not many people knew/know this. You could literally buy one for 5k with a rare interior, sell the interior to a collector and replace it with a common interior and have a free car.
Oh my God! I grew up in upstate SC and have been to that store many times! They used to have a regular booth every weekend for years at the Anderson Jockey Lot flea market, and that’s where I bought my GameCube on release day in 2001. I traded and bought and sold most of my old collection with those guys at the flea market. Good folks.
Nothing brings back the nostalgia more than the Genisis for me. Our neighbors had one and I'd be around there just thrashing Street Fighter II. Those days were amazing.
When I was a kid in Middle school(I’m 44 now), my neighbor got a Sega Genesis and a Turbo Grafx 16(sp?) at the same time I got the original NES…it was a good summer!!!
Yes! I thought I was the only one who thinks the music in Mario 2 is the frickin best. It's so nostalgic for me that summer it came out right around when the movie The Wizard came out. Playing it all summer long at my friend's house. Mario 2 is the best Mario of all time, every body likes M3 but no way it's all about M2. 🤘😁👍

That's awesome. My old haunt was Walden Software back in the 80s. Back in the days when you bought software in sandwich bags that were thumb-tacked on a cork-board.
This is so cool, I think going in the back room is the best place to shop first! You get to see all the stuff they don't have out yet and you're the first one to get to buy.

Probably not if you have to ask people online... Do some research on it for it's "market" value... Compare prices to other sold/listed in similar condition. At the end of the day the $550 is completely up to you to spend. It's either worth it to you, or it's not ya know?
