10:40 😂🤦😏 Y'all are ridonculous, especially @pixelgamesquad .... But, we love it. Why else would we be "here?" 🙃 Also, 13:11 - 🤣🤣🤣 I discovered that "short" YEARS ago, and have yet to find it elsewhere. MAJOR props, bruh! 😁
Upstate Games is a great video game store! Probably the best in the state of SC. Unreal inventory at reasonable prices. Glad you are showing them off on your channel, Rick. Those guys deserve all the money.
@@topchief1video game cavern is such a dope place. small joint, but the owners/workers keep me coming back. i try to pre order games there when i actually pre order something.
I kinda miss the CD tall-boxes. They were the original retail packaging for CD's and were a giant piece of cardboard meant to display album artwork and make the CD's easier to find in sort in music stores that were still primarily built around selling vinyl albums. The taller box made it possible to see the CD in deeper shelf units and encouraged music stores to switch over to the new format. The tall box went away during a particular burst of environmental concern since, unlike album sleeves, the box literally had no purpose in protecting or displaying the CD once you got your music home. It was just waste cardboard at that point.
I'm glad I got you to actually visit the store. I'm almost happy that it isn't a little closer to me because I would be in there spending money way too often.
Awesome video you guys. Sweet to have everyone come by. Funny watching everyone have a blast while I’m dealing with a monster trade in behind the counter.
I love this channel so much. Especially, when the guys get together. Just some guys who love nostalgia. Makes me happy inside seeing people share the same interest. Keep going guys. I’m here for it. 💪🏼💪🏼
honestly im glad rick has come this far not just him but the other friends/youtuber going out there finding obscured stuff that i would have never known exist if not shown.
Dude I just found you the other night and instantly subscribed. Retro games and consoles are the best. I want to score some of my childhood memories so my son can see what I played growing up. I wish a retro store near me had fighting force for the ps1
I'd get one of the PS4 kiosks. If your definition of retro is 2 systems back, and or 20 years, you'll possibly be kicking yourself in 10 years. Or you could wait and save the space. If you have room for one in the store or in storage, I'd get one now while they are cheap. Unless you think they will be cheaper in 5 years or so.
3:58 Check out the launch edition Panasonic 3DO. In the US, the only game available was Crash n' Burn at the time, but it was an awesome game in 1993 despite what people who review it now say. It was only a few weeks until you had 9 games to choose from and then 15 by Christmas '93 (remember the PS1 was nearly 2 years away at this point). I bought the later FZ-10 which came with Total Eclipse (also Crystal Dynamics, like Cn'B) but today own several 3DOs.
I was in a shop similar to this recently. Dragged in there by my intern. I was all "yeah whatever, I've had the best. They aint gonna have a PC Engine Duo RX or an FM Towns Marty or a great SNK Neo-Geo collection so why am I here again?" I wound up getting a paper white Japanese Sega Saturn and a pristine in box Commodore MPS 1000 printer. Both items surprised me. Now I give these places the benefit of the doubt.
Kiwi Craze was marketed as an extension of the Bubble Bobble game series in Australia under the title New Zealand Story. Local gaming magazines referred to it as a trilogy of sorts that included Bubble Bobble, BB2 Rainbow Islands and New Zealand Story...
I really didn’t know there was a market till I watched this last. Might check the old storage just to be sure. With those prices it would be worth the effort.
Kiwi Kraze is famous in europe for its good graphics and gameplay and it is called The new Zealand Story. I own it for the nes CIB and paid for it less than 60 bucks. It was a very popular game at the time due to its good conversions on commodore computers (mainly c64 and Amiga).
I actually have two tapwave zodiacs 😅 I used it as a GPS system back in the days, the second one I gave my mother. She used to play Tetris-like games on it with the stylus...
I have 2 retro kiosks one for an Atari jaguar and other for Sega genesis love the things. They both came with their original tv well in the Ataris case it was a computer monitor and the sega was a small Sony (I believe) tv. They also still had their sound systems still installed the Atari one has a really good sound system setup as well. Had to be pricey. I paid $50 for both. They also gave me a bunch of games for both systems. Those and my nomad are my fav for retro gaming. Love that stuff.
@RetroRick This is a Tapwave Zodiac 2 with 128MB (Zodiac 1 with 32MB) -> bought it 2005 "new" for about €260,00. Still have it complete in top condition ;)
14:26 My son bought a Gizmondo at a yard sale last year for 10.00, with games. It works and it had the box and all the paperwork lol he only bought it because of Sonic :P He's had a lot of offers to buy it, odd how such a failed thing can be worth so much money now
Oh yeah, knew what it was the second I saw the thumbnail. I have a cib Zodiac 1 in my collection with the full set of all 8 games for it. Crazy how expensive it has gotten.
As long as things are priced under ebay and Mercari standard pricing, I would totally rummage through the PS2 and random assortment of Dreamcast and 32X games. Too bad all the best gaming stores are along the east coast. I'm still on a mission to collect every NA released PS2 CIB game, maybe afterwards I will also think about JP only too!
Are you talking about the Tapwave Zodiac in the title? I bought one of those at launch. I got the Tapwave Zodiac 2. I loved that thing, it was ahead of its time. Or were you talking about the Neuon or the GBA. Or is the answer to this all ... YES.
I would get PS4 kiosk now if they are cheap as the gen is now gone, Sony has officially moved on so prices will start going up in 5 years and people may want to buy in on some exclusives or nostalgic stuff over next several years. Also if u have a lot of PS4 stock may encourage people to buy if not retro all the way! That GameCube one was awesome!!
Hey Rick! I have some Kith x X-men x Asics that are sealed. They come with a numbered trading card and some of them are PSA slabbed. I was wondering if you would be interested in buying some and maybe openening them in a video!
Back in the early 90s I had the Gold NES game with I think...200 games..? First hundred was on the screen and if you pushed reset the rest would pop up. I lost the game when all my stuff in storage was lost... come to find out that game is worth alot of loot these days. :(
You could probably do the kiosks at the end caps of your game isles, and if you ever get rid of the Hulk you can probably put two of there. I recommend a N64 kiosk, and a Dreamcast kiosk if those exists. If there is a Dreamcast kiosk, just put in Crazy Taxi, and you’ll have some offspring and other bands who were part of the soundtrack.

Uninvited is a hidden gem for nes. Everyone should play that game at least once in their lifetime during Halloween week.
I didn't get any gems in pocket champ
I didn't get any gems either
@@cnel0301 @Rossbrian1 The on screen text said the gems will be given on September 3rd, so it probably will just take a week or so.

I love these videos with your gaming gang - it's like watching kids in a candy store
Appreciate you enjoying ❤
Lol so true, it's like a candy store where you need a few bills
@FBI
Makes me sad because everybody that was in my gaming gang have all passed away. My son wants nothing to do with older games, same with my wife.
You like watching kids?
I love the chemistry that riff has with everybody that he edits for He's all around just a good guy
Really appreciate the kind words ❤
Barcode Battler for Christmas was when I learned that getting what you want, isn't always a good thing.
Upstate Games is a great video game store! Probably the best in the state of SC. Unreal inventory at reasonable prices. Glad you are showing them off on your channel, Rick. Those guys deserve all the money.
Some of the other stores in that area, outside of video game cavern, are so bad I don't know how they still stay in business.
@@topchief1video game cavern is such a dope place. small joint, but the owners/workers keep me coming back. i try to pre order games there when i actually pre order something.

That GameCube kiosk is incredible! If I only had space in my game room, I would have some of those!
Great video 😊 you inspired me to start a $10 game collection series
For real, I'm digging the wood paneling in the store
I love this channel so much. Especially, when the guys get together. Just some guys who love nostalgia. Makes me happy inside seeing people share the same interest. Keep going guys. I’m here for it. 💪🏼💪🏼

Haven’t ever seen an Aly and AJ guitar before at a store, that’s awesome
So much cool Zelda stuff in this store, my mouth is watering
10:18 - barcode battler - I remember back in the day there was a mad flurry over instant noodles as the bar code on their packet was OP!
Rick your channel is amazing! Please don’t ever stop making video me and my friends LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!!!! From Toronto Ontario
Another amazing store. Boxed everything over there. Simply amazing. I appreciate the footage retro Rick.
New things will become Retro at some point!
Get it!!!
You know what... I could watch that again! And I'm going too! What a 💎 of a store and video! Love the Rare and Obscure finds!

This store looks awesome. So much rare and unique stuff!
This is my local game store. Adam is a great guy and works with me all the time on prices. Great to see them get some coverage.
These videos are so great. The effort behind the final product is award worthy! 🔥
Yay, my favorite local game store! Love that place, super nice folks and lots of cool stuff.

You boys have such a positive vibe. Really enjoy the videos.
Watched the whole video. That store was a walking time machine. Amazing store. Cool owner!
3 uploads in a week 🎉 Did Riff get a raise 😂

15:00 dude is that Metal Jesus in the back?
It's crazy how many cool videogame stores there are in the US. Gotta go on a hunt next time Im in the US. :D
More of this please. Funny as seeing you all hang out with the squad

Cozy store! Love looking at different game stores. Thanks for the great walk through...
9:41 Agreed. The older art of Link looks better when link looked like a male. But the newer art of princesse zelda gets better and better.

I heard the Ballad of the Windfish and I almost checked my phone. It was my alarm for years but hasn't been for probably 2 now 🤣

Great store. The kiosks are super cool!

Wow that store is awesome!! So much rare collectors items!! I’d go broke in that store!! Definitely on my list to visit one day!!
Jeez! Crazy crazy store! I wish I had it all haha! Hey, I have a Pokémon N64 with the controller still 🥰

Wait is there a retro gaming convention here in Arkansas (or nearby)?? Any details on it?
definitely get the GameCube kiosk

Oh yeah, knew what it was the second I saw the thumbnail. I have a cib Zodiac 1 in my collection with the full set of all 8 games for it. Crazy how expensive it has gotten.

It was so worth the trip to meet y’all at SEGE
It amazes me that emulation hasn't made buying old games obsolete.
There was some really loud high pitched sound while you guys were in a certain part of the store and I thought my headphones were breaking.
Probably the CRTs
How can you not laugh watching these guys 😂
Hey Rick! I love your videos!
Are you talking about the Tapwave Zodiac in the title? I bought one of those at launch. I got the Tapwave Zodiac 2. I loved that thing, it was ahead of its time. Or were you talking about the Neuon or the GBA. Or is the answer to this all ... YES.
Love that the owner had monster energy reppin that ken block ...rip.
Thanks man! Glad you noticed!
Yes even though you’re retro it would be nice to have that ps4 display in store 😅
Have you ever thought of making the mezzanine in the store into a gaming section? Where people can come and play the vintage/retro systems??
Bought a Zodiac new at comp USA in 2005 I think. Should have kept it. Super rare.
Ricky with another banger video
I LOVE THIS CHANNEL!!!
Good stuff man looking for the next 😊😊😊😊
I have Madden 05 for the Zodiac that I am bringing to Retropalooza.
The PS4 kiosk is cool. I have the PS3 Kiosk and its just so freaking cool
