Remember that success is not 100% if you use something different! I'm not sure how likely you are to win if you switch out any of the monsters. Bravery is potentially the best soul for this fight, but Patience could also be strong depending on how it functions. Beating this fight on reset 1 is certainly doable, but I don't see much point in doing this fight before reset 2.

Hopefully this guide helps you all! I'm going to repeat some advice in this pinned comment:
Sans is a Geno boss fight and can only be fought if you have at least one reset. I recommend having two resets, but I believe it is possible to win on your first reset.
Monsters Used:
Jerry (Snowdin Common Monster) Common drops have a 80% chance of occurring.
Jerry is a summoner, which means he can attack in both corridors that Sans uses. This ability makes him quite useful. There aren't many summoners in the game, so I don't think you can easily replace Jerry.
Knight Knight (Core Elite Monster) Elite drops have a 15% chance of occurring.
Knight Knight is an aoe monster, which means she can effectively cover large portions of the map with his high damage. Knight Knight might be replaceable if you have a monster who can do her job.
Temmie (Waterfall Secret Monster) This secret monster has a 20% chance of appearing during Waterfall Geno.
Temmie generates money and is likely impossible to replace.
Astigmatism (Core Common Evolution Monster) Common drops have a 80% chance of occurring. You must also fuse 10 Loox's to create this.
Astigmatism covers large areas for a fairly low price. Flying units could potentially compete with Astigmatism, but you cannot use flying monsters during Sans. I am not sure there is any other monster who is as effective as Astigmatism, while keeping the low cost.
Muffet (Hotland Special Soul Monster) Special Soul drops have a 5% chance of occurring.
Muffet is a summoner, which means she can attack in both corridors that Sans uses. This ability makes her quite useful. Muffet has the lowest summoner cooldown to my knowledge, so she is likely impossible to replace.
Honorable Mentions:
Mettaton EX (Core Special Soul Evolution Monster) Special Soul drops have a 5% chance of occurring. You must also fuse Mettaton to create this.
Mettaton can somewhat do Knight Knight's job, but there is only one Mettaton. (Mettaton NEO might be useful too?)
Mad Dummy (Waterfall Elite Evolution Monster) Elite drops have a 15% chance of occurring. You must also fuse 1 Dummy and 1 Napstablook to create this.
He can attack fast.
Shyren (Waterfall Elite Monster) Elite drops have a 15% chance of occurring.
She can boost your units to make them more effective.
Souls:
Determination: You can only really boost Muffet here. She will be slightly stronger than Patience at the start, but weaker than Bravery. Determination has the least amount of money out of the three souls, but Determination allows you to make level 6 Muffet which is quite strong. True Determination does not work against Sans.
(Make sure to take Technique+++ and Extra Potential)
Patience: True Patience should give you +50% gold, which should cause you to have a better start than Determination. Patience might be the strongest soul here depending on how the other benefits function against Sans.
(Make sure to take True Patience. Temporary Discount is amazing if it functions during the Sans fight, but I do not know if it does. Increment is also useful if it helps you during Sans.)
Bravery: True Bravery should give you +50% gold, which should cause you to have a better start than Determination. Bravery's "The Chosen One" will also make Muffet twice as effective at the start, which means Bravery might be the strongest soul at the beginning. Territory Ruler will ensure that you have more money than Determination would ever have. Be careful with selecting Sacrifice, because it might mess with how your monsters are supposed to fight.
(Make sure to take True Bravery and Territory Rule V. Sacrifice might hurt you, but I am not sure.)
Start:
Place Muffet and the 5 Jerrys around the third pillar to the front. Then place one level 5 Astigmatism around the third pillar to the front, and then another one around the third pillar to the back. From there get 5 level 2 Temmies and lastly upgrade two Jerrys to level 2 and Muffet also to level 2.
You should save roughly 20k gold after that to set up your Astigmatisms for the first gravity inversion. If you have excess, then you can justify spending further gold on current units.
The above was made with the gold of Reset Two Level 19 Determination.
Reset 1 Determination will be slightly slower.
Both Patience and Bravery should have even more money and be able to spend more gold before the first gravity inversion.

Thank you so much! After a long time of playing this game as determination I finally reached genocide "The end" and, thanks to your guide, did this on my first try! Sadly, when Sans was rapidly switching rooms, my game glitched and I started teleporting into the void, so I only sold one Knight Knight (after that sequence I teleported to the main area and was able to place Knight Knight, fortunately), but luckily that was enough!

It's funny because during the rapid map-switch, you can sell every unit in the other hall as long as you have summons going across the hall, it deletes the blasters and attacks going towards you once it switches.

I did it with determination and I succeeded on the first try! I was a little worried because i had 15 HP from the start, but i worked it out. This was really helpful and I am quite thankful for this.
As a bravery user i personally think that sacrifice was very helpful for things like my reaper birds because it allowed them to cover almost all the map and the damage loss was not even that much it was like 30 and plus i just got most of that damage back with shyren and i beat it solo second try so i feel like sacrifice helps a lot
I know its been 2 years, and this is a solo guide, but me and my friend (both with 1 resets, him as kindness and me as bravery) decided to try and somewhat follow, or atleast use this guide as a base.
And i just wanna say, thank you! The correct placings did kinda take a while, because for some reason we struggled on the second upside-down part, but after 3 tries we ended up getting him.

Maybe this is because of the new update but for me and my friend the fight ended in the gravity inversion map I was a bit weirded out but none the less I beat sans this guide is so good

This Guide was so usefull, and i acidentaly discovered a bug i don't know How to explain It or If It is a bug but it helped
I managed to beat it 2 days ago, I’m a patience user and the true patience skill helped a lot, it’s amazing how good it is, helped me maxing my temmie and the rest just went really because money just started to spawn infinitely lol, also what I did is that I placed a alphys into my temmies so I could get more money(I have last slot)

The final did a thing where you stay upside down and I did what you said and I lost I don’t know if it’s a new feature but I almost beat sans and it still did help thanks a lot

True bravery and true patience are OP, at the start, you can almost put 5 Temmies, 5 Jerries and Muffet at lvl 3, while having 2 maxed out Astigmatisms.

i used bravery and sacrifice is HUGE the dmg does not go down that much and my knightknights were with 91 range when maxed
and i had so much extra money i ended the fight with 1.3m gold

i did sans 1st try as a patience user so if you want to know what i used, here you go:
as the normal towers i had:
- jerry
- astigmatism
- knightknight
- shyren
- endogeny
and the special tower i had was muffet
my soul build is:
-true patience and increment all the way up to increment B [II]
in the fight itself i had enough money so i did not have to bring temmies
and the rest (like placement) was almost the same as in this tutorial but i also placed endogenies next to jerries and muffet,
i also didnt get teleported to the 1st realm after switching but 3 knights and 3 astigs could easly do the last part (max lvl).
about spawners: i maxxed out muffet, jerries and 2 or 3 out of 5 endogenies
Once I got up to the knight knight selling part. I died due to not even needing to sell them. Rest of the guides still great though, it’s just the games been updated.

True patience is at the bottom of the skill tree unlike the other souls

i'm pretty sure the patience last wave buffs dont apply, but it would be really op if they did, and i'm still able to solo sans with patience with minimal difficulty (though i'm reset 3 lvl 20 so that might be why)

Reaper is mostly better than Astigmatism in every way. If you have both though, you should probably bring both.

The guy i saw on youtube who speedrunned sans only using few towers: reaper, whimsun but ground
well, i was doing well until gravity inverted 1, when none of my jerries were spawning fast enough
i did sans first time like 2 months before you i looked at this vid, i watched this and i made the same strat (like exactly)
i found a bug that i teleported into the normal inverted in the last sans phase but i won because off JERRY AND MUFFET i recommend using those guys now

Hello Error 404! I am currently working on a second series where I teach new players how to solo each area of the game. I currently have made:
Ruins Level 1 Solo (Soulless and Friskless)
Snowdin Level 2 Solo (Soulless)
I will hopefully figure out a way to teach people on how to solo Waterfall and Hotland, but currently I am working on the main series too. I will try my best to make one though!
Is the final phase of sans is in the other realm or thenfirst realm bc i beat sans in the pther realm

I forgot to sell 2 knight knight in the last one but I still won this helped so much
Tip: You might need to be on 2 - 3 graphics to see sans' text depending how far away you are from him when you are about to sell the last two Knight Knights. Also Using River Person's titles can help you gain more gold.
Titles are passive, so you don't need to equip them. The only exception is pacifist.
for people who have patience or bravery replace temmie with migospel and use it incase there is a gaster blaster that is not getting attacked by

I usually record my playthroughs and then after I finish I begin making guides (if any). Usually guides are uploaded within 48 hours of being recorded, but almost every gameplay on the channel was recorded within the last three months instead.

i was fighting sans for a while but he never did gravity inversion 2, he did it once and never did it again for like 10 mins then i died

i went out with over a million and it went very well

Can you, please tell me perks I should use for kindness? I understand that you didn't include it due to it not being added at the time you recorded, but I'd be really thankful if you did recommend something.
I'm pretty rusty on Kindness, but you would probably take True Kindness, + the extra health perks.
